Pacific Rim Park are also close, BUT WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO LEAVE
BEAUTIFUL SPROAT LAKE.
The home is located on Faber Road 15 minutes out of Port Alberni, and rents for $3000/week during the summer months...
The Maclean Mill- a historical steam powered mill that you can actually see work cutting up logs. It gives you a great informative look at the major industry in BC for 70 years. It starts with a ride from the Alberni Quay on a steam powered train and on certain days includes a real live train robbery.
Included is an actual demonstration of a steam donkey with a spar tree hauling in large logs with a clothes line type yarding system. I am a Forester and was skeptical about how much I'd enjoy it. I was really impressed with all of it!
Tours of the Martin Mars may be possible at the Forest Industry Flying Tanker Base (FIFT) located on Sproat Lake between the Provincial Park and my place.
