About Keith and Brenda Johnson

I have been on lake Vermilion every summer of my life. My grandfather bought our property in the early 50's .It's gone thru a few remodels since then. My wife and kids enjoy the lake as much as I do!

As a family we enjoy boating, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting.

Keith and Brenda Johnson purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Keith and Brenda Johnson chose Lake Vermilion

Cedar Cove, the cabin we are renting, is adjacent to our cabin.

We have known the last 3 families who have owned this property and watched them enjoy Lake time too.

When this property became available my wife and I decided to buy it so other families could enjoy the Lake Vermilion experience.

What makes this cabin unique

This property is centrally located east/west on the southern shore of the Lake. We are within 7 miles of the Fortune Bay Casino and golf course. We are within 4-5 miles of 3 different restaurants.

We have a small sand beach which is quite a bonus because most shorelines are rock!

Of course the best asset is the Lake itself! 1200 miles of shoreline with over 300 islands. You can also get to the BWCAW from Lake Vermilion. There is a canoe portage and also mechanized boat portage going into 'Trout Lake'.

Very clean and convenient!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year at Cedar Cove. The cabin is very clean, and is located centrally on the lake making it very easy to fish both the west and east ends of the lake! The location is very scenic with many islands in the bay. My family loves the sauna, and it is great sitting on the deck watching the duck families paddle by and listening to the loons. Definitely recommend!!

Nice cabin on a beautiful lake.

  • 4 of 5

My family has stayed at numerous VRBOs throughout the United States, so we've experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly. This cabin was clean, well-appointed, and cozy. We were slightly hesitant about the outdoor shower, but it wasn't a problem at all. The owners were very responsive and kind. This cabin is great for a family of 6 or less. In my opinion, the best part of the cabin was the dock and small bunkhouse. Perfect to store all of your outdoor items overnight or in the rain. The only negative part of the property is that the yard stays pretty soggy, even in dry weather. Probably due to the drainage down the hill behind the house. Overall it was a good experience with beautiful sunsets. Would recommend to others.

Great property and quiet location

  • 5 of 5

Cedar Cove is a beautiful property. Great location, gorgeous views and everything you need to enjoy. Our son from CA fell in love with the sauna and the process of firing it up ! It rained for 6 of the 7 days, but we still enjoyed watching the storms move across the lake. Fishing was poor because of Mayfly hatch, but we caught one of each species normally caught.....got some hearts pumping faster ! Cabin is stocked with everything needed......only drawback is garbage requirements if you plan on an early departure !

Wonderful getaway

  • 5 of 5

Nice location, great fishing and they had all you needed for a great week. Boat lift would help but there is a landing very close if it is windy.

Excellent location to truly relax with excellent fishing.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin, sauna, and amenities were everything that could be expected and more. The property is excellent for families with kids, couples wanting to relax, and excellent fishing on Vermilion Lake.

The sauna was excellent and a great place to relax after a long day of fishing.

The hosts were very cooperative and easy to communicate with at all times as required.

The cabin was very clean and very well equipped with all the essentials for a full kitchen.

The location is very peaceful and tranquil with beautiful sunsets.

The boat launch was very close and the dock was excellent for a 21' 3" boat.

The boat trailer was easy to park on the cabin's trailer spot.

I would recommend this cabin to anyone interested in relaxing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and all other water sports.

The beach was very good for swimming.

We truly hope to return in the near future.
