This vacation home is tucked among the ponderosa pines and nestles along side of the Little Deschutes River. Built in 2006, this home includes 1,848 sq. ft. of fabulousness, featuring a wonderful interior with granite countertops, slate floors, maple hardwood floors, travertine stone and stainless steel appliances. Of course you won't want to stay in long, with the river a mere eighty feet away and your choice of 2 decks and a patio in which to enjoy the serenity, you'll surely want to be outside taking in the fresh air. While you're there, be sure to keep an eye out for the deer, elk and quail that often roam the two acres of land. Winter visitors can enjoy all of this from the living room picture windows and 3 slider doors.
The bottom floor of the cabin comprises of the kitchen, dining and living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a walk in shower. Upstairs you'll find the second bathroom with a tub and shower, adjacent to an expansive loft area that houses a queen bed, a futon and a trundle bed (Loft can sleep 6). The home sleeps 10 comfortably.
Additional comforts include a wide screen TV with a great selection of DVDs, a wood burning stove (great after a day on the mountain) and a full sized washer and dryer.
We were both born and raised in Iowa. We have been married for 37 years and have 3 children and 2 granddaughters. We moved our family to Oregon in 1993 and have enjoyed all that Oregon has to offer. Our family loves the outdoors. Having a log home has always been a dream of ours. Now we can live our dream. We have had so many great memories here at our log home.
Bill and Stacy Mikesell purchased this cabin in 2005
We love the quiet community and have some close friends that have also built homes in the area. Our home is in the back of our two acre lot which makes it a quiet peaceful setting. Watching and hearing the birds and wildlife is a passion of ours. Being among all the upper lakes and rivers makes activities unlimited.
Away from the road. Backs up to the Little Deschutes River (80 ft.). Wildlife viewing. Swimming, floating and fishing. Beautiful blue skies during the day and so many stars at night. Summer days are warm and in the evening it cools down so nice (perfect weather combo) in the summer. It is a winter wonderland for winter sports. The home sits just down the road from BLM where you can ride your ATVs/Mountain Bikes to your heart's content.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with our family! We loved the beauty and peaceful setting. Wish the mosquitoes hadn't been so bad so we could enjoyed the deck more. Would love to return again one day! Thank you!
The owners and property made our trip a great time. We thought location may be a hindrance when booking but we were near several excursion points and had a great time in Bend, the hot springs and rafting down the North Umpqua. I would recommend this cabin for a group or family.
My friends and I really loved our stay at Stacy and Bill's place. It was easy to get to and conveniently located near Crater Lake and other destinations. It was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying at Stacy and Bill's place.
I've been here 3 times now with my family and friends. Winter, summer, spring. This house offers a beautifully, yet diverse accommodation like no other. The teepee is fascinating. The little dechutes River is refreshing and reminiscent of "little house on the prairie" my family loves the local golf course, Sun River, and crater lake. This is a perfect location to "get away" yet see all of what this area offers. This house is stunning, every detail thought out. Can't wait to come back!
We stayed at the beautiful log home for a couple nights, and just like what the homeowners said, we did not want to leave! The home was meticulously clean, kitchen well appointed and beds comfortable. The home really felt like a home (we've been to other vacation rentals where the owners had kind of thrown things together just to meet standards, not here!) Outdoor seating was plenty and both nights we lounged outside under the milky way. During the daytime we cooled off in the clear swift waters of the little river that flowed right behind the house and watched the wildlife. There was no Wifi or satellite/cable TV but we didnt really need it. For those that do, my ATT reception was kinda piir but Verizon seemed to work decent. Bend, Crater lake NP were around 1hr-1.5hr drive. All in all highly recommended for a peaceful getaway.
The house is beautiful, very clean. A solid build log house with great skylights. We loved the deck, very spacious with very comfortable chairs. The dining room is perfect for great meals and the kitchen is very well equipped. We enjoyed the hummingbirds, the beaver at the river and occasional the visit from a fawn. Our party was very happy with the bedrooms. We love hiking and found the house perfectly located for various hiking trails. Closed to Crater Lake and other smaller crater lakes. We so enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year. A beautiful setting. Owner very helpful.
This cabin is beautiful. A dream come true. It provides the luxury one is seeking while being out in nature. The river is only a short walk away, like 50 feet. It's great for fishing, tubing and just sitting in it catching some rays.
The beauty is all around you. Hummingbirds chirping as you sit on the patio drinking your morning coffee or while having a drink in the evening.
The host are very accommodating and go out of their way to make sure your stay is all you want it to be.
I would recommend this cabin to anyone.
La Pine is a quaint community located 18 miles south of Sun River. The area boasts miles of recreational land, and for visitors young and old alike, there is no shortage of activities to partake in.
La Pine State Park offers hiking, fishing, swimming and boating. Fly casting for brown and rainbow trout is a favorite past time for many of the park's visitors. If a more serene atmosphere suites you, you'll have your pick of more than 158 lakes and reservoirs to choose from.
Whether it's golfing on the Quail Run Golf Course (just north of La Pine), skiing on Mt. Bachelor (roughly 45 minutes away), or visiting the quaint little town of sisters (45 miles), your visit to La Pine will not disappoint!
