Great stay

  • 4 of 5

Great location for boaters, fishing, and of course scalloping. Close to several boat ramps to drop off your boat and dock up to the boat dock at the house. Home had plenty of room. The only suggestion is to get a hoist for bring up groceries up all the stairs. And maybe an additional handrail for the inside stair case. I would definitely rent this property again.

Incredible weekend

  • 3 of 5

My family and I would like to thank you for a marvelous weekend. The owner is super easy to work with and very knowledgeable of the area. The property was exceptionally clean and had beautiful views, with a fully equipped kitchen. The Wives loved the upstairs screened porch for early morning and late afternoon views of the canal while enjoying cups of Java and trying to locate the Whippoorwills. The house was also stocked with an ample supply of utensils and linens. The detached screened fish cleaning house was a huge plus, it gave the guys a nice retreat after a day of fishing while the wives plotted on us. LOL

Thank you again for the opportunity to spend time at your wonderful weekend getaway.

Awesome Labor Day Weekend!!!

  • 5 of 5

We have nothing but great things to say about this property! We were even more impressed with the excellent customer service provided by the owner.

The property listing description was accurate, and the house easily accommodates eight adults. The split floor design ensures that everyone has plenty of room to relax and "get away" if needed. The house is nicely stocked with everything you need for a great weekend including linens, towels, kitchenware, and even three choices for outdoor barbecues (smoker, charcoal grill, and gas grill).

For those interested in fishing, the floating dock provides a quick launch. Just be sure to watch the tide charts and speak to the owner about navigation out to the channel during low tides. We were able to transit the canal during low tides with no problems. The marina is only a five minute car ride away if you need to restock with bait, fishing licenses, etc., and there is an ice machine close by as well. There are also a couple of options available for groceries/snacks within a few minutes drive.

Most importantly, the owner is very easy to work with. We spoke several times regarding possible changes to arrival or departure times, and because no one was renting before or after us, he was willing to work with us on our reservation. Lastly, we are HUGE University of Georgia fans and wanted to watch the UGA vs. Clemson game. However, his DirecTV programming didn't include ESPN. I called and inquired about this, and within five minutes, he called and arranged for ESPN to be added to his programming!!! The day and the weekend was saved!

We had a truly awesome experience with the property and the owner. We are already planning our next trip down and will stay at this property again.

Great Family Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Yellowfin with my husband and 2 children and my best friend and her 2 children for our annual "Scallopalooza". This rental is perfect for a large group. There are 2 bedrooms on the top floor along with a bathroom and kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms on the bottom floor along with a living room and bathroom. There are plenty of areas for groups to congregate and not trip over each other. There's a large screened-in patio upstairs and additional space on the deck upstairs. There is a picnic table downstairs under the house and plenty of room for lawn chairs for lounging outside.

The fish house was an added bonus. It is perfect for cleaning fish and scallops without the pesky flies bothering you. The views on the canal are beautiful and it was awesome to have our boat right there on the dock ready to leave on our next scallop trip. The owner was also very friendly and available for any questions or advice. I highly recommend this rental.

Caveats: 1. The location is VERY remote so be warned. Do your grocery shopping before you get here. The closest grocery store is about 20-30 minutes away. The remoteness was nice for the kids to roam and not worry about traffic. 2. Mind the tides when coming in and out in your boat. We were always able to make it to and from the dock, but it was definitely easier when it was high tide. The area gets pretty shallow and there are rocks to look out for. Plan your boat trips accordingly. 3. A box fan or 2 came in handy. There are not yet any ceiling fans in the fish house or screened porch. We brought ours and it made it more comfortable.

Ideal get away and great fishing

  • 5 of 5

Last fall we spent a week here with my wife and another couple and had a fantastic time. It was perfect, the wives didn’t want to fish every day so the house was ideal for them to relax, get plenty of sun and just kick back. It would be a great place for families as well. The location is quiet with only a few minute boat ride to open water and yet it was very close to the Marina, restaurant and Keaton beach. The fishing was awesome. We limited out on trout every day, caught spanish mackerel and our share of reds and even a couple of sharks. There is a large, screened in fish cleaning station right at the dock which was a huge amenity. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. There’s nothing like fresh fish, literally right out of the gulf, grilled to perfection and all at your own pace. I will definitely return and I recommend Yellow Fin house to anyone looking to get away, relax, fish great waters and chill.
