About Kim Bearly

Our whole family loves sports and the outdoors. We rented cabins many times in Tahoe Donner over the years and we enjoyed all of it - Donner Lake, the tennis center, cross-country and downhill skiing and - being a competitive swimming family - that heated lap pool at Trout Creek. When we decided to buy a home in the mountains, Tahoe Donner was the only true choice. It is great for both winter and summer. We look forward to fun times and wonderful memories here and we hope you will too.

Kim Bearly purchased this house in 2011

Why Kim Bearly chose Truckee

Tahoe Donner offers everything you could want summer or winter, for outdoor recreation and relaxation. Truckee with it's fun bars, restaurants and shops is right around the corner. A little further afield and you are in the Old West at Nevada City for Chili cook-offs, taking the railroad, touring the Comstock or, exploring the various lakes and towns in the area. And of course Tahoe City and Lake Tahoe are accessible by a lovely bike path. It is a true year-round vacation destination.

A Gem in the Forest!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a quick getaway trip to relax and were so lucky this magical, spacious mountain cabin was available! We had never stayed in Tahoe Donner before, but will probably only stay at this house when we visit Tahoe again.

The house is beautiful - three big bedrooms, with extremely comfortable beds. One room had a queen and two bunk beds (would have been perfect for little kids). The cabin is very clean, and fully-stocked - and I mean, fully stocked. Next time, we will not haul anything except our clothes and beach towels. Kimberli provides anything you could imagine in a cabin. Spices, plenty of cookware, and top-of-the-line knives (we discovered that our knives at home need to be replaced). We cooked every night except the night we checked in, and were able to take lunches with us each day on our excursions. The outdoor grill was clean and easy to use. There are board games, cards, and a TV, which we didn't use at all. I spent more time looking out at the forest than doing anything else. The next house behind them is through the forest and you can't see it so it feels like you have access to the wild outdoors. We didn't get to see a bear (which is probably a good thing), but we did watch some squirrels, chipmunks and a big buck wandering in the "backyard."

Tahoe is within a half hour drive to get to kayaking and bike riding (before the roads got crowded). Kimberli has beach chairs and umbrellas that you can use. You only need your own beach towels.

The guest passes to Trout Creek Recreation Center were ideal. We worked out in the morning and were in the pool in the afternoon. We spent two days at this beautiful center. Even though we hauled the golf clubs, we didn't use them this time around. The golf course looked gorgeous, though.

I spoke to Kimberli a few times before our visit and a couple of times while we were there. She was very responsive to my inquiries and is a joy to deal with. We highly recommend this cabin. Thanks for sharing it with us! We are already thinking of renting it next summer, and definitely would recommend it to our friends.

Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed for a week in this beautiful home. The house has very homey feel with all the basic amenities and more. The house has plenty of activities for the kids such as games, puzzles , and Legos. The location of the house is perfect for vacationing. It is situated in the Tahoe Donner area so the house comes with guess passes that get you into the recreation centers for a discounted price. We took advantage of the passes and swam a couple times. The owner, Kim is fantastic! She is very responsive with any questions about the house or area. We will definitely stay here the next time we go to Tahoe.

Loved the magical, spacious mountain cabin. Fits two families comfortably and is very well kept. The air hockey table is a plus! We would come back again. Kim was timely with her notices and updates on any changes.

Thank you!

Fantastic Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Kimberli was fantastic to rent from.

Cabin had all of the amenities. Neighborhood is a ton of fun. Very easy for making meals for the family and lounging around the fire, following a day in the snow. We're planning on being back soon.
