About Julie Mooring

Julie Mooring purchased this House in 2013
Why Julie Mooring chose Plantation
Christmas of 2012, we spent time on St. George. After just a couple of days, we knew we wanted to own there. Searching tirelessly with a realtor, when we walked in this house, we immediately knew it was the one for us. It felt like home! One of the couples had owned a home on another barrier island for 10 years and knew there was nothing to compare with the pristine beaches, fabulous shells, birds, stars, wildlife, water sports, and the people. Now that we have young grandchildren, we realized that we wanted to be somewhere that is more accessible and with medical care readily available. St. George and the Plantation were exactly what we wanted.
What makes this House unique
The natural beauty of the lush tropical landscaping and no crowds drew us here.

Amazing! Perfect house for a family getaway to the beach!
The owners are so responsive, quick and caring. Everything was so clean and the pictures don't even do it justice - it's wonderful all around. Very short walk to the beach, the pool is perfect and plenty of fun for everyone in the family. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Loved, loved, loved, St. George Island!
Loved the island, the beaches, the private pool. Loved having a bathroom attached to each bedroom. House itself showing a bit of wear in places and it could use a deep cleaning- such as floors were well swept but our bare feet were black the first night, showers need a brush and mildew remover, stove needs to be pulled out and the goo removed from sides. Beds were comfortable, liked having 2 coffee pots, dishes were adequate. Walk to beach not bad. We had no maintenance issues!
We had a great time with our vacation. Family came from Minnesota and had a blast.
We’ve stayed here a couple times now and will definitely come back. The house has everything you need for a great time. Looking forward to our next trip.
Thank you! We try to make everything as easy for you as we can.
As you saw the island has rebuilt from the hurricane and we are so appreciative of the spirit that makes the Panhandle and it’s beauty so special. I’m looking looking forward to hearing from you so we get get your next visit on the calendar.
Take care, Julie
Wonderful place to stay! Spacious, clean, great location.
Lovely home with beautiful layout. Nice views to ocean, open kitchen/greatroom, large porches. Short walk to the beach. Really nice owner.
Jean, We are so glad you chose to spend February at our home. It really is a great home for a long stay with plenty of room for friends and family.
We are so thankful that the island has made such a good comeback after the hurricane. We were grateful to have only needed screens, a little siding , and the pool heater replaced.
We would be delighted to have you and your family come back anytime and we will give you a 5% discount by way of saying thank you.
Take care and thanks again for the great looking sign you made for An Island Mooring. Julie
I went on this trip in October of 2018 and I absolutely loved it!!!! All 9 people on our trip loved it and were completely spaced and had complete comfort!!!! We could not complete our stay due to hurricane Michael hitting St. George, but refunds were provided for the missed days!!! The homeowner was very nice in responding to our questions about anything! I would definitely go back!! The tweens had an amazing time swimming and being in their own room, while the adults were talking on the highest level screen porch we could watch them and make sure they were safe. The beach had an easy access that was in walking distance for seeing sun rise/set. The pool was very nice for late night and early morning swims! The beds were nice and all had balcony access! This place was very amazing and beautiful!! I definitely would recommend this trip for anybody! The screen porches were so good for sitting and listening to the waves at night ,and not having to deal with bugs in your face!!!!
Thank you, Melinda!
You named most of the things I love so much about the house. Great seafood so close by and swimming laps in our heated pool are two others.
We were so sorry you had to evacuate but appreciated your quick response to the warning.
We were so fortunate to only have the screens, a little siding, and the pool affected. So everything was repaired quickly and the island is in wonderful condition again.
I hope you will plan to come again soon and we will give you 5% off the rental price.
Take care, Julie
The Forgotten Coast is exactly that. Quiet and peaceful with lots to do but with a relaxing feel and no crowds. Florida's oldest seafood festival is Nov 1st and so much fun. The March Chili Cook Off is a must. Art is very important to the Apalachicola community with a huge Plein Air Festival in May. There is always something to do, but only if you want to!
