About Maureen Mittelstaedt

Brian and Maureen have been in the area for 35 years. Brian as a Chiropractor, Maureen as a Massage Therapist. We have come to love the Peninsula for its cycling, hiking, mountain biking and backpacking. Maureen grew up in Ohio, Brian in Tacoma.

Maureen Mittelstaedt purchased this apartment in 2008

Why Maureen Mittelstaedt chose Olympic Peninsula & Pacific Coast

We built the home in 2008 on ten acres of land. We love our two dogs and Port Angeles has offered us all we need. The location is close to town yet has the feel of the country. With its quiet serene atmosphere summer days and nights are the highlights for living here. We love the easy and quick access to the trails in Olympic National Park. Star gazing can be done from hurricane Ridge, 17 miles away.

What makes this apartment unique

A pond is situated within steps from the door, a hot tub and steam room for your aching muscles after a hike. A piano is available for your playing pleasure. Enjoy the hot tub at night and gaze at the stars.

Lovely stay in the Olympics

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a fantastic time at Maureen's VRBO. The place had everything we would need as a small family and Maureen was very responsive. We were conveniently close to PA and the Hurricaine Ridge but just far enough out of town where it felt like we were in the wilds of the Park. We especially enjoyed watching the deer come in at dusk as we relaxed in the hot tub. When we left, our daughter left behind her favorite toy "lovey", which was very upsetting to the family. Maureen was able to track it down and promptly shipped it back out to us making her a very happy girl. Fantastic place with fantastic hosts!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review and I hope that your daughter has received "lovey" in the mail by now! You were wonderful renters and I hope that you were able to use the pack and play for your daughter. We love living here in the wilderness with the wildlife and having Olympic National Park as our backyard. Please come again sometime!! Maureen

Perfect Comfort

  • 5 of 5

My stay in the Cozy Apartment in Port Angeles was absolutely wonderful! The bed was so comfortable and the bedroom quiet and overlooking the backyard. The apartment had all I needed to make my own meals and kick back and enjoy a movie after a day of hiking. The hot tub/whirlpool was totally the best! I really enjoyed using this each night after my long days out and about exploring the area.

I really enjoyed my stay in Port Angles at the Cozy Apartment and will definitely book this place again when I'm back to visit Olympic National Park!

Thank you Mo!

Great place to stay for running the NODM marathon!

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here when we traveled to Port Angeles to run the North Olympic Discovery marathon. It was the perfect place to get a good nights sleep before the race, and to soak in the hot tub after!

The apartment was pristine and very comfortable. Maureen had even left some running magazines out for us and an ice pack in the freezer which were much appreciated! The house is in a beautiful location, surrounded by forest. We even saw some deer while we were relaxing in the hot tub!

The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, and Port Angeles downtown has a variety of restaurants and cafes for when you feel like eating out. We enjoyed the burgers at Next Door gastropub after our race, and would highly recommend the New Day Eatery for breakfast. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Loved this place!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first VRBO experience and we were so impressed. Our apartment was immaculate, the decorating was done tastefully, the kitchen was surprisingly stocked with everything we needed for our 10 day stay and, the steam room was heavenly. We were in the area looking for a retirement home and this location was perfect to come home to in the evenings for a quiet, peaceful reflection on the day's hunt. Our patio looked over a tranquil setting where we even had a deer show up one morning. The Olympic Peninsula is truly a magical place and we felt that this apartment captured that. In our travels we ate out several times and, by far, our favorite place was "Nourish" in Sequim.
