Great place to stay
The villa and cottages are amazing - beautiful location, great kitchens and living areas. We plan to return. Being on the Kona Coffee route was a plus - great local coffee by the bag within a few hundred yards of the villa. Definitely recommended for large parties - the 4 buildings give people more space, while the area around the pools makes a good gathering / socializing location.
Large group vacation
We had a group of 18 adults and 3 children stay for a week. The property could not have been more perfect for such a large group. The grounds and house were pretty close to immaculate. The house are spaced close enough that it definitely feels like we were all together but far enough apart to give everyone their own privacy as well. Easy drive into town and beaches. Also a great value.! Every other place we looked at for this many people was easily double the price. Often you can expect when getting that kind of pricing that the house(s) will not be as nice. This was not the case. The only small problems I heard about the whole week were neither hot tubs got hot and shower curtain in the second bathroom made showering uncomfortable. Overall definitely recommend this gorgeous property.
extended family vacation
We were a group of 17 adults and 4 small kids, 3 and under and rented all four houses for 10 days. Everyone loved the properties and had a great time. Beautiful landscape, well equipped homes, nice pools.
Thanksgiving in Hawaii
We brought our entire family of 14 ranging in age from 6 to 76. This is a wonderful place for large groups allowing everyone to have some privacy. Excellent kitchen in the main house and many hours spent in the pools. Good central location in the Kona area.
great for a large group or family
We arrived late in the evening, and it was difficult to locate the place - you have to drive on a drive on a dark dirt road to reach the houses. The night we arrived was especially hot, and we were quite surprised to find that there was no air-conditioning in any of the houses. The heat was unbearable that first evening, but got better during the night and was ok for the rest of the stay. The main house is very nice, kitchen is huge, and was very convenient as breakfast and dinner was prepared for the entire group. The other houses are a bit less inviting - the bathroom curtains and rugs should really be replaced. We also had some problems with the toilets in 3 of the houses. The pools were excellent, the houses were stacked with games and the kids had a blast. The property is a 15 minute drive from a supermarket / attraction, All in all we had a very good time.
Enjoy resort living on hillside slopes at a perfect elevation. Aromatic tropical breezes, spring-like temperatures, and birds singing in this sub-climate are to be sure to tickle your senses. Not too hot, not too cold, Homes Over Kona are located centrally in the historic, quaint, artsy coffee town above Kona called Holualoa. Perfect for a quiet cup of coffee and morning stroll. Only 10 min. away, you will enjoy Kona’s shoreline beaches with every water sport imaginable, downtown shopping or pier fishing, neighboring Captain Cook Town, or kayaking with the Dolphins at Kealakekua Bay. You can enjoy every direction very conveniently within a matter of minutes.
This particular island is famed for the ocean diving and snorkeling along with all the ocean activities you can imagine. White, black, or even green sand beaches can be found here. The only active volcano and endless number of glorious hiking trails await you including the famed Waipio Valley and even a quickie hike just a short drive away. During certain times of the year, you may even experience snow on the caps of Mauna Kea as you capture unforgettable sunsets and stargaze the most glorious night skies imaginable. These are the skies we share with some of the famed observatories available for tours. Only this island can offer such variety in such a compact way. Lucky you, our property is right in the middle of it all.
