Casita Orilla del Mar is romantic, elegant retreat one block from Santa Barbara's East Beach – one of the top 10 beaches in America according to Coastal magazine. Completely and expertly renovated in 2013, the open-plan bungalow is elegant, spacious, comfortable, flooded with light and tastefully decorated with an eclectic mix of furnishings from around the world.
The bungalow sleeps four with a queen bed in the master bedroom and a pullout double bed in the living room. French doors off of the living/dining area and the bedroom opens to an inviting, completely private patio, featuring tropical landscaping, built-in spa fitted with ceramic tiles, outdoor shower, Tranquility fountain, and outdoor dining complemented by a built-in barbeque.
The fully fitted gourmet kitchen is a cook's dream featuring top-of-the-line Jennair appliances, Sub-Zero refrigerator and in unit washer and dryer. The location is superb – with access to Santa Barbara's finest attractions, whether by car, bicycle or on foot. There is a Waterfront Shuttle and Santa Barbara Trolley for all your local sightseeing and transportation. The bungalow is within walking distance to the Santa Barbara Airbus stop, which is your transport to LAX airport.

We stayed at this cute little cottage for the long Labor Day weekend. We love being so close to East Beach and right next to the TriCounty Produce market as well. It's central to everything you would want to do in Santa Barbara. Wine taste, shop, walk, bike, eat, beach comb, etc. It's all within a few minutes of this gorgeous little place. It was clearly recently remodeled and I love the thought they put in to it. It's the best use of a small space I've seen. It's tiny but doesn't feel tiny. The court yard with the hot tub, built in BBQ, fountain and dining table is perfect. It's private and secure and makes you feel like you have bigger space. The house itself is beautiful with a gorgeous and modern kitchen with top of the line appliances. The family room has a super comfortable couch that turns in to an equally comfortable queen bed. My husband fell asleep out there one night with our son and was amazing at how comfortable it was considering it was a "sofa sleeper". The bathroom is lovely with a huge rain shower and tub, two sinks and TONS of built in storage. I loved how many cabinets there were to tuck your belongings away in. There is even a nice little hanging space as you enter the bathroom. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and large dressers with plenty of space for our clothes.
This cottage is perfect for a family of 3 or 4 and we would definitely stay there again. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.
The property was perfect for one person for a 4 week stay. Although small, the guest house is extremely well appointed with top of the line appliances (Subzero, Jenn-Air, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer), electronics (flat screen televisions and Sonos stereo), a beautiful bathroom with exquisite tiles and rain shower, and French Doors from both the living area and bedroom that open on to the slate porch with a fountain and jacuzzi. Everything is simple to operate, requiring a flip of a switch or push of a button. Stephen, the caretaker, made everything perfect when mishaps occurred (dead batteries in remote, alarm on water filter, wrong access code to enter on arrival, etc) with speedy response time and very friendly. Clare was hands off after booking, but Stephen more than made up for her. The location is ideal, a block from the beach, an open air grocery market around the corner, walking distance of Trader Joe's, and a mile from State Street, or a short Uber ride to restaurants or other destinations. It felt like home by day 3. I will definitely be back.
This is the third year we have returned to this perfect get away. This home always completes out Santa Barbara experience. From the convenient location , it's close proximity to long walks on the beach ,as well as downtown ,to its beautifully appointed interior you cannot find a better vacation experience away from home.
Our communications with the management has always been seamlessly easy, making us feel very welcome.
We really enjoyed everything about this place. The decor is beautiful, the hot tub was great and the enclosed patio was perfect for us and our dogs.

What a gem of a property in a perfect location!!! We were visiting Santa Barbara for a wedding and although the majority of the guests were staying at the Fess Parker we decided we'd like a little more room and privacy. We wanted something near by so that we could still mingle with the other guests. This property couldn't have been more perfect! We were merely a few minutes walk to the Fess Parker with the beach only a stones throw further. In addition, there is a lovely grocery store just around the corner from the apartment which was perfect for grabbing some coffee, fruit and snacks to have on hand. Although we did not cook any large meals the kitchen was quite impressively equipped and if we had stayed longer would have most certainly taken advantage of the top of the line appliances, etc. We especially appreciated the private patio with in ground hot tub/spa...such an outstanding feature for such a reasonably priced rental!! There is a Sonos sound system in the apartment and so we had great music at our fingertips through Pandora and our iTunes. I am a runner and found that within a minute I was on the beach and could run in either direction for miles enjoying gorgeous scenery the entire time! The area immediately around the apartment was extremely quiet and we slept quite soundly. There is a train that goes by as mentioned by others but we did not find it bothersome at all. The first train of the day seemed to go by around 6:50 a.m., and we were usually up by then anyway. The "down town" area with the wharf and shopping area was an enjoyable 15 minute walk, almost exactly 1 mile distance. We made the trek a few times and even had the opportunity to peruse a lovely art/craft fair on Sunday that ran for most of the distance along the beach. As for restaurants and options for eating out...we found a great little taco stand down the street "East Beach Tacos"....nothing fancy but FANTASTIC tacos and really good, fresh guacamole! It was about a 5 minute walk, if that! And on the beach, 5 minutes the other direction, is East Beach Grill where we had two greatbreakfasts...I would highly recommend the strawberry wheat germ pancakes and a latte! Again, nothing fancy but good food and literally right on the beach so a killer view! I really cannot come up with anything but spectacular things to say about this property! I hope we have another chance to visit Santa Barbara and if we do, I know exactly where we'll stay!!
