About Vickie Cramp

My wife and I have been living in Ouray since 1980. We lived in the Pricco house from 1980 to 1997. We built a house, just to the north of the Pricco house, on a vacant lot also owned by my Grandmother. We ran Pricco's Restaurant from 1983 until 2006, in the building my Grandfather built as a grocery store in 1906. My wife and I raised two children in Ouray, and up until January of this year were taking care of my Mother and Father in the house you will be staying in. My mother was born in the Pricco house. Ouray has been a very comfortable town to spend so much time in. We hope you find the same comforts in our home.

Nothing is ever perfect

  • 4 of 5

Ouray is a little town in the mountains where there is no truck route nor bypass to divert traffic away from the Main Street. Therefore everything and anything goes right through town and by this house. So yes, it can be a bit noisy. Ok, deal with it. But the house is very clean and well maintained. You do have to tolerate the "Grandma's House" look and feel which can be trying; i.e tacky wallpaper and lace curtains abounds in every room. I guess some people even like that. The grill worked fine. The washer and drier was great, as was the really cramped, but very clean, shower. And the water was always hot. All the burners on the stove worked and the ice maker kinda (but not really) kept up with demand. The big reason why we didn't give the house a 5-star rating was the lack of kitchen supplies. The amount of cookware and china was so minimal that it was difficult to cook, not to mention, serve a meal. With only six plates, one pan, two pots, and a couple cookie sheets (one of which didn't fit in the oven) it was a challenge to get any meal cooked and served for just the four of us. We've stayed at a lot of vrbo's and this was one of the least equipped.

Owner's Response: Dear Mr. Fry: We are truely sorry that your experience at the Pricco house, was not what you were expecting. In the past, customers have expressed how much they enjoyed the victorian charm, and the central location of the home. We do realize it is hard to make everything perfect for everyone, but do take pride in making our family home very clean and tidy. Our pictures, on the Pricco sight, shows each individual room, and its decor. Maybe we should revise them so people would have a better idea of what to expect. Hopefully, you did enjoy the beauty of Ouray, and will someday return. There are many wonderful VRBO homes in Ouray, and I'm sure there is something that will better suit your needs. Sincerely; Vickie and Bob

An adorable little Victorian

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful little vacation home. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We would go back. Being on the main drag of town however, it's not as quiet as a place off Main Street.

Able to walk to town and hot springs pool. Spaciouscomfortable sitting room. Worked well for 2 couples. Clean and well organized and kitchen was well equipped. Local deer visited each day. Met the owners: easy to communicate with. Had a delightful time.

Quaint Victorian gem in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a better experience. Perfect size for our family of four, children ages 11 and 15. The house was impeccably clean and charming. Stunning views all around and mule deer greeted us in the back yard upon arrival. The location is perfect to walk out the front door to see all Ouray has to offer as well as hiking the perimeter trail located behind the house. The owners are wonderful and are willing to offer many suggestions on local attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed speaking with them while at the same time they would offer complete privacy if desired. We felt like friends after a couple minutes of conversation. We will return not only to Ouray but to the Pricco house as well. Many thanks!
