About Vacasa, OR - Central Oregon Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Disappointed Pictures and description don't match reality

 • 2 of 5

This house did not meet our expectations based on the pictures, reviews and description. It is hard for us to know if this is a homeowner issue or rental company setting bad expectations and/or bad cleaning service.

The location was good, but the house was filthy and not "newly remodeled'. The kitchen had some updates it was very poorly stocked and far from "fully equipped" instead it had rusty pans and uneven stove burners with melted blue paint of some sort on them. We could see visible dust on end tables, the carpet was really stained, and under the coffee table we found pieces of food and potato chips. It clearly hadn't been vacuumed in a while so we vacuumed it ourselves. Some blinds were ripped, but worst of all it was unsafe for small children. The stair/loft rail was has no vertical bars and huge gaps between horizontal bars, therefore our child almost slipped underneath the rail and fell to the first floor minutes after arriving. Had I known the gap was so large under the rail, which was hard to tell from pictures, I would never have booked the house.

The kitchen was also segregated from the main areas so it was impossible to watch our children while cooking them meals making it really stressful given the stair/rail situation. The only bathroom on the main was off the bedroom and not universally accessible which was not mentioned in the description. Other things that were disappointing were missing screens on windows upstairs and the "TV" upstairs was really just a small computer monitor with no remote or way to turn it on. The only thing redeeming was the included Sharc Passes. We ended up moving homes and going with a different property manager.

Disappointed

 • 2 of 5

We have stayed at many Sunriver homes of all price ranges and have never felt compelled to leave a negative review, but this house did not meet our expectations based on the pictures, reviews and description. It is hard for us to know if this is a homeowner issues or Vacasa setting bad expectations and/or bad cleaning service. The location was good, but the house was filthy and not "newly remodeled'. The kitchen had some updates it was very poorly stocked and far from a "fully equipped" instead it had rusty pans, uneven stove burners with melted blue paint of some sort on them. We could see visible dust on end tables, the carpet was really stained, and under the coffee table we found pieces of food and potato chips. It cleary hadn't been vacuumed in a while so we vacuumed it ourselves. Some blinds were ripped, but worst of all it was unsafe for small children. The stair/loft rail was completely unsafe for our toddler as there it has no vertical bars and a huge gaps between horizontal bars, therefore our child almost slipped underneath the rail and fell to the first floor minutes after arriving. Had I known the gap was so large under the rail, which was hard to tell from pictures, I would never have booked the house or brought a baby gate to block the stairs. The kitchen was also segregated from the main areas so it was impossible to watch our children while cooking them meals making it really stressful given the stair rail situation. The only bathroom on the main was off the bedroom and not universally accessible which was not mentioned in the description. After about 10 times of trying to prevent our toddler from climbing or slipping under the stair rail and the dirtiness, we decided this wouldn't be a restful vacation at all and we needed to switch homes. We looked at Vacasa.com to see if there was other available properties to potentially switch to, but they were all booked given it was a busy summer week and given our experience we thus far we just decided to go with a different property manager that we have had good experience with in the past. We certainly weren't happy with having to pay twice for vacation but figured the cost was less than a trip to the emergency room would be. Other things that were disappointing, missing screens on windows upstairs and the "TV" upstairs was really just a small computer monitor with no remote or way to turn it on. The only thing redeeming was the Sharc Passes. Vacasa should do better in describing the properties and making sure they match the accommodation expectations and cleanliness that other property managers adhere to for this price point in Sunriver. If I was the homeowner I would be disappointed in Vacasa's cleaning service and ask for better service or list with someone else.

Below Average Rental

Very poorhouse design. Kitchen looks at the garage wall. Only downstairs bathroom is in the master. Deck faces the culdasac. Not a good value at $600/ night.

Family-friendly and convenient!

 • 4 of 5

The bikes and Sharc passes were the highlight of our stay!

Two families combined fit well in the house, but two larger beds for parents would have been awesome. Home offers a double and a Queen separate from kids' room. Also, no locking interior doors in the house so privacy can be an issue.

Appreciated cable TV, laundry, and cozy furnishings! Super quiet cul de sac and lots of deer to look at.

Again, Sunriver offers so much outdoor activity that the bikes and Sharc passes MADE this trip awesome! Oh! The ping pong table was also a huge hit. We will probably buy one to have at home now. : )

This home is managed by Vacasa and they answer their phones 24/7. Super convenient! We needed an extra room fan and it was delivered within hours. Needed access to a second house key and they answered us in minutes. Great service, thanks!
