About Don & Grace
We are local homeowners who have lived in Southern California for over 25 years and the proud owners of a newly renovated Venice beach house. We recognized a great house from pictures posted on the internet and purchased the house 5 days after seeing it. We have been in love ever since. Transplanted from the east coast, we love the mostly bug free environment of California and the incredible weather at the beach that allows us to live outdoors for many months of the year. We are parents to two teenagers who love to bring their friends to the beach. We want ours to be the home that they continue to visit and bring their friends from college.
Don & Grace purchased this House in 2013
Why Don & Grace chose Venice
As an interior designer I wanted to make the house both comfortable, luxurious and unusual. After renting the same beach condo in Laguna Beach for 15 years I knew what I liked and expected and what kept us going back each year. I have tried to create the same high level of living in our beach home. We have furnished it like a private home not a rental. The house has charm galore from the location on a walk street, to the Dutch door in the front and finally to the optional, airy, spacious, separate guest apartment over the garage. And then there is the location. Renegade Venice Beach and the contrasting upscale Abbot Kinney Boulevard has something for everyone yet the house escapes it all and is its own tranquil, private escape. We accept most credit cards. What makes this House unique
We have maintained the unique character of the house built in 1904 and furnished it in rustic modern. The kitchen is well equipped with a generous supply of pots and pans and attractive tabletop items. The linens are luxurious and each room is unique with unusual whimsical features. The firepit in the front courtyard is perfect for the cool beach nights and being able to park two cars tops off the Venice experience. We accept most credit cards. Limits and fees apply.

Great beach house
We loved this house. It was so close to the beach and had lots of indoor and outdoor spaces to gather, read or just hang out! The beds were sooo comfortable and overall home decor was just lovely. Only call out is that garage parking did not fit our truck so we had to find street parking - and we were a bit nervous with the safety and security but had no issues!
Venice Beach is eclectic and edgy and overall a great vacation for our group of 2 adults and 4 teens - we enjoyed biking to the Santa Monica pier, walking to the beach, exploring Abbot Kinney and the sights (and smells) of this quirky beach town!
perfect for a family gathering
This beach house was perfect for a family stay to celebrate our kids' graduations. It is just as described and a great value. We highly recommend it!
First class accommodations in Venice Beach!
This home was perfect for our group of 6. It was light and airy with lots of living areas, a huge kitchen with a large table and 4 good sized bedrooms (which includes a separate guest house). A great escape from the craziness of Venice Beach! Communication with the owner was easy and thorough.
Lovely home. Great location, all amenities top notch.
Wonderful. Great outdoor and indoor space. Well equipped kitchen. Great beds. Nice high chair and crib for the baby.
Dwell at the beach was well appointed and had lots of amenities for all ages.
We spent Christmas in Venice to visit a new grand baby there. Dwell at the beach was perfect for three generations. There were wonderful amenities for all ages and the proximity to the beach was great.
Great house, great hosts, great location!
Lovely house, equipped with everything you could need, in a fantastic location. Don and Grace were great hosts - friendly and helpful before and throughout our stay. Highly recommended.
The property is located one block from the Venice boardwalk. Steps beyond that is the beach and great surf for boarding, swimming or surf fishing. The Santa Monica pier is located a short bike ride away with a lively arcade, restaurants, rides and games or pier fishing. The Getty Villa is a short drive up the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) or a bike ride on the beach front bike path. The Annenberg Beach House with a large public pool is located nearby. Walk or bike to Abbot Kinney Blvd. for great restaurants, art galleries and boutique shops. Santa Monica and Third Street Promenade shops are a few minutes away. Join the locals at the weekly Farmers Market on Main Street on the weekend. Marina activities include kayaking, sailing and boating. Beverly Hills and Malibu are located 20 minutes by car. Hollywood is approx 30 minutes away.
