Why Andrew Lofland chose Downtown

This was a great project to renovate a beautiful turn-of-the century Victorian. We knew that the location just step from downtown would be ideal for vacationers.

What makes this studio unique

Just walking distance to restaurants, nightclubs, cafes and shops. This price is most affordable in all of Colorado Springs. Very convenient to all the major sites of Colorado Springs.

Great little place. It was a comfortable bed and a quaint little room. The shared kitchen was great

  • 4 of 5

Shared kitchen was great and it was nice to have coffee and around 100 different kinds of tea. A few breakfast snacks as well.

Grateful to have a nice and easy place to stay for our trip.

Just a few blocks from a main area of food and shopping (we got caught in a Christmas parade)

Perfect area for a quick get away.

I only wish there would've been more personal interaction. I assume other guests would prefer to be left alone, but I would be like some help finding our way around.

Not for us

  • 2 of 5

You get what you pay for! My contact would not answer the phone, parking is very confusing. The hostess was nice, but we decided to not stay!

Great location, decent room

  • 3 of 5

We stayed in the Stark Suite - I gather that there are other rooms in the house.

- Great location, one block walk to the "strip" of downtown restaurants, coffee shops, etc

- Easy to find & get to

- Good, easy parking

- Common areas are nicely done. Coffee in the morning and a full kitchen is appreciated!

- Neighborhood was quiet at night, even with the large-ish street outside

- Bed is comfy

- The fit & finish in the room itself is poor. The bathroom shelf is unlevel, the door locks aren't snug. It's not uncomfortable, but it's not "B&B-style cozy" in the room itself. The common areas of the house are much nicer.

- Room is relatively noisy. Floors squeak, bed squeaks, floors upstairs squeak, nightstand rattles. The windows are not well sealed, so any noise outside sounds like the windows are open. People moving upstairs or outside are very audible.

- As others have mentioned, the shower arrangement is not great.

- The radiators were really loud. I think they turned them on the night we were there, so maybe they're better once they've settled down, I couldn't say.

Basically it's a great location, and most of the house is great. This room in particular seems like it was partitioned off as a "college student apartment" by someone with only a passing knowledge of construction techniques. I would recommend this room if you like the location, need a decent place to crash, and aren't too picky about noise at night.

We had a great time. The stark room was prefict for us.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The Stark room had its own entrance which was really nice. You are so close to down town and it is a easy walk. The room was nice for an old house. The shower in the bath room was different. It was great to shower in but water got every where. Would of been nice to have a curtain to pull around it to keep the water from going every where. The room was in the back of the house so you really did not hear any of the other guest.
