About Brian Niezgoda

The owners, Brian and Robin, have owned this property since 1990. They have raised their family, lived and worked on the Cape for the past 25 years. They love the Town of Brewster and its small town setting.

Brian Niezgoda purchased this cabin in 1990

Why Brian Niezgoda chose Cape Cod

The real value of this property is that its like having your own house on the cape. With this property you have your privacy. There is no one renting the room next door like in a motel. Its you and your family and friends taking a bike ride down to the beach or getting to the beach in a 3 minute car ride. The other great selling point is the price is right and everybody likes a good deal...

What makes this cabin unique

Gas grill with picnic table in the back yard. After a long day on the beach its time to relax.

Quiet Dead end with only 5 houses on the road

Nothing fancy, but clean, comfortable, and homey to retire to after touring the Cape all day.

Overall, the cottage is a great value and the central location made it very convenient to hit all of my favorite spots. There are just a few minor repairs that need to be made though. The front and back screen doors to the cottage really need some attention (he left a note asking to be gentle with the doors). There weren't any fans so we kept the outside doors open for air flow. Neither screen door closed all the way and we were concerned about critters sneaking in. Thankfully, none did. Also, a circuit blew the first night when we tried to plug in a night light into the only bathroom outlet. We called Brian and he came right over, but was unable to fix it. We had no lighting at all. The next day, we returned from our day out to discover no bathroom light, outlet, or mirror. He diagnosed it was the faulty bathroom mirror/light fixture so he removed it. We called Brian and he brought over a mirror and extension cord. It was inconvenient to have to keep calling him but he was very polite, apologetic, and prompt in responding. My suggestions - buy a couple of fans, fix the screen doors, and replace the mirror, light, and outlet in the bathroom.

Sufficient but nothing special

  • 3 of 5

The cottage was adequate but the mattresses are definitely due for a renewal. There was wifi, which was great since I had to get some to work done. It would have been nice if there was a little welcoming note or book, with directions and suggestions. Our roommates found a grilling fork under their mattress ?!? There was salt and pepper but no sugar/sweetener for coffee. Since all we really needed was a place to sleep it was fine.

This is a charming little cottage. This is not a fussy cottage so if your looking for "glam" you will not find it here. What you will find is a very clean ,peaceful and comfortable place. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and were very comfortable and enjoyed the relaxation , grilling on the back deck area and short drive to the beach.

Brian is very kind and accommodating. We will rent from him again.

New Windsor, NY

Centrally located, private, clean & comfortable

  • 4 of 5

Our son is special needs so we like a little privacy in case our son gets overwhelmed. This home is centrally located, but off the main road & quiet. There is a nice view of the woods with many birds out the front window. Two things we liked before booking were the owners flexibility with the dates (in our case a partial week) and that it has a bathtub (it also has wifi). Great summer reading in one of the bedrooms and nice laid back feel. Living room furniture needs a little updating but our son loved that the chair spins! Perfect proximity to Crosby beach and the tidal flats that allow you to walk out for forever when at low tide ~ excellent for families with young children. Close to grocery/all types of shopping. We enjoyed our stay immensely and found it private & relaxing.

A few things that would make the stay even better:

1) placing a full length mirror , or some type of mirror somewhere in the house (besides the one over the bathroom sink).

2) putting owners phone number on fridge and wifi password

3) leaving local tourist type info / and addtl info that covers where town hall is (for beach pass), nearest grocery, closest local eateries etc.

4) letting folks know that the key only opens the back door (we had a little panic when we came back and could not get in .. eventually realized it was to the back)

Good location (if you don't need to be waterfront)

  • 4 of 5

At this rate to rent on Cape Cod, you have to understand that you are not getting a decked-out, newly renovated place.

The place worked out well for us. Some pros that aren't stated in its description: House has a bath (good if you have young children) and a dishwasher (an unexpected surprise.)

The laundry is in the basement, which is accessible only via an outdoor entry.

There are LOTS of spiders around the back door. The house has a bunch of trees around it so it's unavoidable - just an FYI.

The place was clean, though worn.

Overall, I'm happy with where we stayed. The location is great - it's a 5 minute drive to beaches with AMAZING sunsets. It took about an hour to get all the way up to Provincetown, and is pretty centrally located overall. There's a beer/liquor store within walking distance. Everything else is pretty much a drive away. No wifi - but a local coffee shop solved that problem.
