Casa Orilla del Mar is a luxury retreat located one block from Santa Barbara's East Beach – one of the top 10 beaches in America according to Coastal magazine. Completely and expertly renovated in 2013, the open floor plan bungalow is elegant, spacious, comfortable, flooded with light and tastefully decorated with an eclectic mix of furnishings from around the world.
The bungalow sleeps six, with a queen bed in the master bedroom and pullout double beds in the guest/study and living room. French doors off of the living/dining area and the bedroom opens to an inviting, completely private patio, featuring tropical landscaping, a built-in spa fitted with ceramic tiles, outdoor shower, Tranquility fountain, and outdoor dining complemented by a built-in barbeque.
The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen is a cook's dream featuring top-of-the-line Jennair appliances, Sub-Zero refrigerator and washer and dryer in unit. The location is superb and quiet – with access to Santa Barbara's finest attractions, whether by car, bicycle or on foot. There is also a Waterfront Shuttle and Santa Barbara Trolley for all your local sightseeing and transportation. The bungalow is within walking distance to the Santa Barbara Airbus stop, which is your transport to LAX airport.

The property is perfect. Updated recently, the kitchen, bathroom, windows, lighting, etc, ALL are amazing. Patio was an outdoor paradise and felt like another room in the house. The house functioned bigger than the square footage, it's a very functional layout. Also, the management (clare) responded very fast to any question or issue we had while we were there. We loved our time at this property, and would definitely return for another stay!!!
The house was absolutely beautiful and very well kept. It had absolutely everything we needed to enjoy our few nights stay. We cooked breakfast in and the kitchen did not lack a thing we needed. We totally enjoyed the patio - it's privacy, the hot tub and water feature! With the grocery store and beach just a couple blocks away, we will absolutely reserve this gem again. Note to owner - the master bedroom door needs to be planed as it is scuffing the beautiful hardwood floor. We tried not to shut it after we noticed this issue.
Wow, this condo is beautifully renovated inside and out! Three adults and a toddler easily fit in the two beds and futon in the unit. Beds were comfortable, and lots of closet space for things. We had a great time in the beautiful and private outdoor patio with hot tub and fountain. Grocery store is around the corner and it is literally two blocks from a great beach! We did have an issue with the cleaners, but the property management was very responsive. They took care of the situation and make sure we were compensated appropriately. Highly recommend this condo to anyone traveling to Santa Barbara.
We (a couple) stayed here for a weekend and were extremely happy with our stay. The home is a block away from the beach, and close enough to everything that the harbor and downtown have to offer - but you don't have the foot traffic of the more touristy areas. It was well within easy biking (or walking) distance of all major attractions.
The home itself was, simply put: exactly what a couple is looking for. Cleanliness was perfect and the house is very clearly well maintained. Although it's attached to another unit, we had total privacy throughout our stay. It's not large in terms of sq footage, but it has enough space with an open air feel / layout that you do not feel cramped at all. The small patio in the back is extremely cute and quaint, with such a great beach vibe. We kept a door open most of the time just to feel the Santa Barbara breeze come in off the patio. Both the hot tub & grill are easy to use and taken care of well. It has plenty of towels and the hosts are kind enough to have body wash / shower / shampoo so if you forget any of those - they have you covered.
There were only very minimal drawbacks. The hot tub is so efficient that it was actually somewhat difficult to maintain a good temperature, as it heats up very quickly. So we had to find the "sweet spot" for perfect sitting temperature. The kitchen had most of what we needed but it was not very intuitive where things were, so I'd recommend shooting them a note about your cooking plans and required utensils so they can have that ready for you. We'd consider coming here with another couple but it's curious that they do not put another queen bed in the second bedroom, so that could be considered. We do think the price may be a liiiiittle high relative to other places we've stayed and what we looked at for this weekend, but it's not too far out of the ballpark or a deal breaker. So only those couple of tiny (ahem nitpick) issues kept it from being a 5 star review!
We definitely enjoyed ourselves here and not only will we recommend it in the future, we hope to visit again!
Truly fantastic location, short walk to the zoo, beach, and a great little market with everything needed. We had two adults and four children in the rental and there was plenty of space for everyone. Really great kitchen, fully loaded, great appliances. Spa was a nice touch. A few hiccups with the property on check-in that were addressed immediately by the owner; she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Will be going back in the near future. Thanks!
The property was amazing. The property manager was very accommodating and it was clear that she cared about our stay and we had everything we needed. My only concern are the housekeepers that came in. I lost a black coach travel bag which was missing after they left. Other than that I would highly recommend this place to everyone. Location was perfect.
Chase Palm Park is w/in walking distance & offers free outdoor concerts every Thursday evening during our Summer Months. We have three beautiful historical theaters that have all been restored & are special attractions. Shopping on our famous State Street is within a 10/15 minute walk. You are also within a 10 min. walk to our newly renovated 'Funk Zone', famous for wine tasting, restaurants and alike. The near downtown location of State Street, Old Town and historic El Presidio encourage lingering visits to our coastal community that stabilizes the American Riviera.
