Casa Orilla del Mar is a luxury retreat located one block from Santa Barbara's East Beach – one of the top 10 beaches in America according to Coastal magazine. Completely and expertly renovated in 2013, the open floor plan bungalow is elegant, spacious, comfortable, flooded with light and tastefully decorated with an eclectic mix of furnishings from around the world.

The bungalow sleeps six, with a queen bed in the master bedroom and pullout double beds in the guest/study and living room. French doors off of the living/dining area and the bedroom opens to an inviting, completely private patio, featuring tropical landscaping, a built-in spa fitted with ceramic tiles, outdoor shower, Tranquility fountain, and outdoor dining complemented by a built-in barbeque.

The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen is a cook's dream featuring top-of-the-line Jennair appliances, Sub-Zero refrigerator and washer and dryer in unit. The location is superb and quiet – with access to Santa Barbara's finest attractions, whether by car, bicycle or on foot. There is also a Waterfront Shuttle and Santa Barbara Trolley for all your local sightseeing and transportation. The bungalow is within walking distance to the Santa Barbara Airbus stop, which is your transport to LAX airport.

We loved this relaxing retreat close to the beach.

This was our first vacation rental so we weren't sure how we'd like it vs. a hotel. We ended up LOVING it and want to come back already. The home was nicely decorated, clean, peaceful and had most everything we needed. The home was perfectly located a block from the beach and although it was a duplex amongst other rental homes, we always felt secluded and private when in the home. Hot tub was a great feauture for a family with kids giving something to come back to at night. Master bedroom and living room had French doors that opened to the patio creating an indoor/outdoor living area. Overall we loved this place and highly recommend it.

I hesitate to even mention because I loved it so much but there were a few minor negatives:

-you should bring your own trash bags, tp, dish soap, and paper towel as there was very little to none provided.

-some sheets and pillows that were provided for the two fold out beds were stained (blood and yellow marks), or were yellow and smelled oily/dirty. I would bring my own next time.

-Garage was shared with neighboring vacationers and was a bit small. You could squeeze a smaller car in it but we preferred parking on the street or in front of the garage (we made sure our neighbor didn't mind first)

-beach chairs and umbrellas were available to use but I will bring my own next time as I found the chairs to be uncomfortable and not the easiest to carry to the beach and the umbrella was a bit small and flimsy for windy days.

-the washing machine broke one evening while we were there but management responded promptly and had it repaired by the next afternoon.

Perfect Santa Barbara getaway

Beautifully decorated and outfitted for a pleasureable stay close to the beach and convenient to downtown. We were in town for my youngest son's gradaution from UCSB and wanted a convenient and roomy accomodations for myself and my other son and his partner and an extra friend or two if need be. Also wanted the place to be attractive for such an important time and allow us some down time/easy beach time/nice private celebration space. It was all of those things. Loved the quiet neighborhood, especially the corner produce store full of central coast delights. Everything worked well, good appliances, nice dishes, the spa heated up very quickly, and we gave the Scrabble board a real workout. We didn't do much with the electronics but they were nice options. Good wi-fi. Want to come again and rent for several weeks. Thanks to the owners for all the thoughtful touches and to the property management people for being so available.

Great place

We really loved this place. We've stayed in many VRBO/HomeAway places over the years and this is one of the very, very best. The location is a 5 minute walk to the beach and about a block and a half to a small produce/grocery store that had everything we wanted during our stay. The unit itself was extremely well designed. Made fantastic use of space and was really comfortable and attractive. It was pretty close to downtown. We didn't walk that distance but we would have if we'd had a better feel for the area and pedestrian friendly streets.

There is no dedicated parking but we never had a problem finding a place on the street right by the place. We'd for sure stay here if we make another trip to Santa Barbara.

Excellent in every way

The property is perfect. Updated recently, the kitchen, bathroom, windows, lighting, etc, ALL are amazing. Patio was an outdoor paradise and felt like another room in the house. The house functioned bigger than the square footage, it's a very functional layout. Also, the management (clare) responded very fast to any question or issue we had while we were there. We loved our time at this property, and would definitely return for another stay!!!

Excellent - perfect location!

The house was absolutely beautiful and very well kept. It had absolutely everything we needed to enjoy our few nights stay. We cooked breakfast in and the kitchen did not lack a thing we needed. We totally enjoyed the patio - it's privacy, the hot tub and water feature! With the grocery store and beach just a couple blocks away, we will absolutely reserve this gem again. Note to owner - the master bedroom door needs to be planed as it is scuffing the beautiful hardwood floor. We tried not to shut it after we noticed this issue.

Chase Palm Park is w/in walking distance & offers free outdoor concerts every Thursday evening during our Summer Months. We have three beautiful historical theaters that have all been restored & are special attractions. Shopping on our famous State Street is within a 10/15 minute walk. You are also within a 10 min. walk to our newly renovated 'Funk Zone', famous for wine tasting, restaurants and alike. The near downtown location of State Street, Old Town and historic El Presidio encourage lingering visits to our coastal community that stabilizes the American Riviera.
