Recent Reviews: Even though the women in our group didn't golf, the men in our group were ecstatic! It was the main purpose of the trip and it did not disappoint. We had 3 couples and two toddlers. And we ranged in age from 67 to 34. The house couldn't have been more perfect for our needs. We had our privacy and yet with the game room and the open floor plan we were able to be together and enjoy each other. I spoke with Lynn and she couldn't have been nicer about letting us in a little early so the guys could take advantage of the daylight. Everyone had a great time and would recommend it highly. We all live near Nashville and even though it was a drive we all agreed we'd definitely be back!!

A Great Time!

The only issue we had was that the downstairs refrigerator didn't work but we didn't call about it as we were only there for the weekend. Everyone had a great time and would recommend it highly. We all live near Nashville and even though it was a drive we all agreed we'd definitely be back!!

LOVE THIS PLACE -- Definitely will return

  • 5 of 5

I truly loved Cherokee Trail. David was the BEST host. I inquired about MANY things from October until the time we arrived and he respectfully answered each question within a few hours. He accommodated us greatly. A few friends and I (3 couples, 2 singles) wanted to ring in the New Year together in a safe environment, so we booked Cherokee Trail. The price was very affordable for all of us. The house was amazing. One--the ride to Big Canoe took approximately an hour from Roswell, GA. Friends that traveled from Gwinnett said their commute took about 1.5 hours. Definitely not bad if you need to rush back home for whatever reason. The home was breath taking. The mountain views were simply amazing. Though we went in the winter, the temperature was perfect for some of us that wanted to sit outside on the screened-in porch. The kitchen had practically everything we needed for baking, cooking, and preparing our meals. The two refrigerators also came in handy when storing our drinks + frozen foods. There were two times when I needed to communicate with David while there and he responded within an hour. For an example, we realized there wasn't an ironing board + iron. David's crew came to the house in less than hour with a brand new iron, ironing board, and cover. There was an issue w/one of the toilets and a plumber came out within 2 hours. Just amazing. The home was super comfortable and everyone had their own space without feeling crowded. The internet was spotty at times, but seriously, staying connected was far from our minds. We all left feeling peaceful and excited about 2015. And we want to do this again this year. It was a great trip.

Also, the property is a good 5 minute drive away from 3 restaurants (Mexican, Pizza/Italian, and fast food) and a full grocery store. This came in handy. I would suggest to bring extra toilet paper (but they provide it for you), minor cleaning supplies (just to tidy up the place before you leave--not a major request from David & the management staff, but just a courtesy), and trash bags. There is a lot of information regarding the area when you arrive, so I'd adhere to them.

So to sum it all up: it was the best trip I have ever gone on with a group of friends. Cherokee Trail is just an amazing place.

Both property and Mountain Home Rentals are fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

I never write a review, but needed to here based on not only a wonderful property, but a very accommodating and friendly management company. Dick Sharp and his staff were stellar from the beginning, suggesting several choices that would work very well for my wife's 50th birthday surprise celebration weekend (including about 10 friends). The communication on both the phone and by email was prompt and complete, and as the time approached they bend over backwards to be certain the weekend went off without a hitch. I had heard stories of other management companies just turning this properties around for profit with little attention to the occupant, but not these guys. They even allowed me to come in the day before (since not occupied) and setup everything for the surprise.

*** The Property***

It was very spacious, extremely clean, and parts seems recently renovated. No complaints on any part of the 3500 ft^2 spacious home. A huge screened in porch was perhaps the highlight for our groups as we sat outside and had breakfast watching the mist come up off the mountain, listening to the birds, and just enjoying tons of mountain air. The kitchen was spacious and modern, and there was another fridge downstairs to store additional party supplies. Above and beyond the house, we enjoyed Big Canoe hiking and local fairs too. Bottom line is that I plan on renting from Mountain Home Rentals again. A truly great experience! Thanks David!

The experience was fantastic everything you see in the pictures and read about is true. The set it up very nice for a relaxing time, they have a list of everything you can do to include wineries waterfalls walk trails, ect... My opinion this was the best vacation house experience ever, the company handling the rental were very smooth and very easy to work with. They did respond to our emails and phone calls immediately. Can’t say it enough overall a fantastic experience. If you are in this area you have to rent this house plenty of room we had three families and several kids it was fantastic.
