About Ken Colson

I live in Atlanta (for work) but treasure time @ the lake. It is truly our escape from all the stess and pressures of life in the big city. I tend to forget everything about work and schedules when we arrive @ the lake. I have 3 kids (and grandkids) so we needed a lake home that could handle a big family!

Ken Colson purchased this house in 2008

Why Ken Colson chose White Plains

This house is located at the end of the cove with a beautiful view out of the cove to big water. With 7-9' deep water off the dock, we never have to be concerned about having enough water for swimming and boating. Beautiful clear water and a calm breeze, makes this the perfect place to relax. This end of the lake is not crowded allowing for safer boating and water sports.

What makes this house unique

The Southern Living charm coupled with the open airy floor plan make this a great place to relax or to entertain.

The top cover deck is unique that it has a mini-bar and is a great place to take in the beautiful view and a great place to take a nap when it's raining.

Beautiful Home with a Great View!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful home with a great location. Ken was very accommodating and checked in with me throughout the weekend to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely rent this home again and would highly recommend it!

Everything was so clean and nice! Ken left bagels for us since we were coming in late Friday night. That was so thoughtful of him, and we appreciated it very much! House was absolutely gorgeous, and would definitely recommend staying there to others!!!!

Perfect Home for a Family/Friends Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family and friends decided to celebrate the holidays at Ken's wonderful home on Lake Oconee and I am glad that we did. Communicating with Ken was an absolute pleasure. He gave us lots of information about the house and we appreciated that.

The home itself is GORGEOUS. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was how CLEAN it was. It was super organized and he even left extra towels for us. There was plenty of room for all 11 of us. There is enough space on the driveway for four cars to park without having to move cars to drive out. Most rooms have televisions in them if you like. There is even a firepit and grill if you need. Ken even let us bring our pup, which made the trip even more fun!

The kids and adults both enjoyed renting jetskis from a nearby marina, jumping off of Kens dock and swimming around the lake near the home. One part of the lake that is nearest the home is only about 3 feet deep, so children can comfortably play around. For bigger kids and adults, the lake is about 8-10 feet deep when you are just past the dock.

We will definitely be back as soon as we can. We had a blast.

Breathtaking Home and Setting

  • 5 of 5

I knew this was a lovely home by the pictures on HomeAway, but the house and lake setting are beyond fantastic. The home is clean and furnished with wonderful beds, showers and linens. You feel at home the moment you enter. There are windows to enjoy the views everywhere. The screened in porch is fantastic. We spent a lot of time on the back deck too. We were here for The Masters with three other couples. There was plenty of room for all of us. The house is a wonderful setting for a gathering of friends and family. The host is very nice and helpful. The house is about twenty minutes off the main road (well worth the drive). The directions given were perfect. I would unequivocally say that you will not be sorry you stayed here.

Great family weekend...perfect home

  • 5 of 5

Our daughter rented the home for her 30 th birthday so we could all come together...she and fiancé is from Augusta, we are from Kennesaw and grandkids and other children from Marietta

It was perfect when we checked in and had everything we thought it would have. The owner was very easy to work with our daugjter said, and gave us step by step instructions on certain items when we arrived. The grandkids age 3 and 4 did not want to leave, had great time fishing with their granddad. Great memories and we will be back! 5 star...Kathi and Mark Mansfield

This was our second time at the house in a four year period.

  • 5 of 5

We are very familiar with the Lake Oconee area and we find the location ideal...far enough away from the hub-bub closer to the Ritz and the commercial areas to provide a peaceful/decompressing family retreat and at the same time close enough to still be convenient when we want to be around those amenities. The layout of the bedrooms and the separate two bedroom annex provides us with privacy and comfort for a family with age ranges from 8 to 85. After that, the beautiful lake views up the cove to the main body of the lake have given us many "Ahhhh...(sigh...)" moments.
