Great stay in Silver Spring
We were very happy with our stay. Location was convenient to metro and grocery. Really nice deck to sit on. Eang was prompt in responding to our questions.
COMFORTABLE & CLEAN
We arrived a bit early which was no problem and the check in went very smoothly. The minmal communication we had with the owner was answered immediately to our satisfaction. The house was very clean and well kept. Would definitely stay again.
This was a great vacation spot for a family to stay. We took the bus and train into DC to do museums and stuff. Easy to get around. Most everything you need is available in the house.
Spacious townhouse near DC
The townhouse was quite spacious, with a second living room area in the basement. The place was reasonable for the price.
The house was nice and clean in a good neighborhood. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the metro train station. We walked it every morning and evening and never had any issues. I would definately stay here again.
We travel and rent VRBO properties 1-2 times a year, so I like to do a pros and cons list compared to other properties we have stayed at...
Pros: plenty of room to spread out with a family, updated kitchen, plenty of linens and towels, found most of the cooking supplies we needed (we did have to go buy a baking sheet pan because there weren't any, and the broiler pan was beyond gross and probably needs to go in the trash), the owner made a personal appearance the first day to see if we needed anything, metro was about a mile away if you don't mind walking.
Cons: There were bug traps everywhere and still found two roaches, no access to cleaning supplies like a vacuum or broom to clean up after yourself (I could only find a swifter stick in the closet and with roaches, that wasn't quite good enough for a rug), not enough dishes for family use...bowls or small spoons in the house (were only a couple), same for "regular" glasses that weren't coffee/tea cups, or wine glasses (we had to buy some plastic), too much "junk" in drawers and places that should be free for guests to put their things during their stay, kitchen needs to be gone through to get rid of the old, broken, or mismatched "junk" in there as well and replaced missing items, neighborhood was a bit on the sketchy side.
Overall it was a pretty good property to stay at and it suited our needs. Everyone was happy. Just really could've used some extra bowls spoons and glasses if advertised for family use. A tenant book of some sort would've been helpful explaining some things...there were like 10 remote controls in the house (8 in the living room alone and there weren't that many electronics on the stand) and no instructions on what went with what (I'm sure some were old and needed to go, more junk), we never could figure out how to get the basement TV to work, the thermostat (it kept resetting itself WAY to HOT and my husband couldn't stand it), trash day, etc. The cans just appeared out front one day. But if a renter is there for any length of time, they will need to empty trash and will need to know where the can is ..we eventually found it. This was a decent place for the price with east access to the metro.
Thanks Tricia for your feedback. We will continue to improve on the items you had suggested. We do provide a Dyson vacuum that is stored in the utility room. We have two sets of utensils that we recently replace. It may have been misplaced. We will ensure there is plenty of spoons , plates and bowls for the next guest. Thanks again for your feedback.
