About Vicki Parker

Grew up in the area and moved away - but there is no place like home so had this cottage built. We don't get back as much as we would like to so we decided to share our slice of heaven with limited rental. Have lots of family in the area who make sure that our place is clean, well kept and ready for you.

Vicki Parker purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Vicki Parker chose Manistique

Family loves the outdoors and four seasons. There is no better place to be than Indian Lake to fish and golf and Hiawatha National Forest to hunt. Great, relaxing place to come back to and watch the sunset after a long day. There are numerous small lakes close by as well as miles and miles of groomed OHV trails which are well marked. We also love going into 'town' and enjoying the local area including the boardwalk along Lake Michigan. Two lighthouses and Fayette - don't miss them!

What makes this cottage unique

Without a doubt having a fire in the pit, watching the sunset, being able to swim in a shallow lake off the dock and just relax is the best benefit of our cottage. Enjoy your snowmobile, ice fishing, snowshoes, skating, skiing and more!

Nice place!

  • 4 of 5

Very nice area and lake. There was a close boat launch, so we were able to have our boat at the dock all week. The water was great, weather was great, barely any bugs, and everything we could have wanted was available. It was very close to many things. Our favorites were pictured rocks and kitch-iti-kipi. The small movie theatre was also fun for the rainy day! Thanks for a great stay!! The only reason I didn't give a straight 5 were the super close neighbors with a dog that barks most of the day and evening.

Very nice cottage on Indian Lake

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our week at this cottage. It is very nice and clean. Extra things are there in case you forget something. The lake is so quiet and beautiful. Enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning and in the evening after our excursions to other places. I actually saw an eagle one morning while drinking my tea on the deck. Not sure if we were just lucky or what, but we had no problem with mosquitos while sitting on the deck. We took a fishing/cruise of the lake one evening, highly recommended...the owner can give you the name of the person.

We went to Grand Marais, the Soo Locks and to Newberry to Oswald's Bear Ranch - a must see.

Double Booked

  • 1 of 5

When we arrived at the cabin it was already occupied. The persons that were in the cabin had booked the rental for the same days that we were suppose to have it. It created a big problem so we spent our shortened vacation in a motel room. We were very disappointed. The owner agreed to send us our money back but our vacation was spoiled. If I could have clicked minus stars I would have done so.

Owner's Response: We are so sorry that this error happened. We immediately made arrangements for another property on Lake Michigan that was beautiful and a great alternative but since you had already checked into a hotel you passed on it. We also sent you additional money at your request as compensation for the error. We are extremely sorry that your vacation was cut short.

Indian Lake Fun

  • 5 of 5

The cottage on Indian Lake was conveniently located to several of the tourist spots on the UP. We enjoyed the week we stayed there. The cottage is comfortable. Other than some stains on the carpet, the cottage was clean. We did not have any issues with the neighbors (as some of the other renters have expressed) as we usually left early in the morning and returned late in the evening. The neighbors' property is very close to this cottage, and is not well-kept, so just be aware of that.

Chicago family enjoyed time away in Upper Michigan

  • 4 of 5

Great location to Pictured Rocks and swimming in Lake Michigan. The house was better than the pics on the website, nice amenities to eat in as we came back from day trips. It would of been perfect if we were warned that the conditions were favorable for the "lake itch" we are all still dealing with a body full of bumps. We rented a cottage on a lake with hopes to swim in the lake, were not even given the use of the paddle boat , so could only admire the beautiful lake from afar. Thankfully, the neighbors were kind and let us use a kayak and canoe to get out on the water. We would highly recommend adventuring out to Pictured Rocks, Miners Beach and Lake Michigan swims off route 2 (only 10 minutes away).
