Excellent home, well equipped and decorated.
Home is very nice and well furnished. Good layout. Great value. We will definitely return.
Location may have caused very slow internet speeds. Hard to watch Netflix, kept rebooting. Instructions for fireplace not helpful.
I would recommend this property.
Beautiful Log home ,very clean with amazing views. wrap around porch, multi level decking,Awesome!
The owner Isabell was wonderful great response time,Even called to check if we got there ok and was making sure we had everything we needed, Thank You Isabell. We love your home! The home is just gorgeous, very clean and decorated beautiful with all the touches of a beautiful log home , the wildlife statues and special touches were very impressive, And her collection of Christmas villages placed through out the house , you could just admire all the decor for hours and it made for a very comfy homey visit, The Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to make meals, Even the bathroom was spotless and beautiful stocked with Shampoo and Conditioner everything you want for a mountain getaway, the beds were very comfortable ,The hot tub was also nice we used it once, The stars in the sky from the deck at night was amazing it looked like billons of stars,We hiked up the road a bit and it was so private and pretty, You can hear the stream from the back deck cascading down the mountain. My husband and I stayed on one level since it was just the two of us but this home easily accommodate a large group. We were able to spot wild elk during dusk in the Smokey Mountain State Park Cataloochee which is right down the road a bit, We also went to wheels in time Museum if you are a car or bike lover you will love this place. We will defiantly rent this home again when looking in the Maggie Vally area or Waynesville, Asheville area, Waynesville has a very pretty quaint feel with shops and restaurants, Maggie Valley is also Beautiful. I highly reccomend this home to rent , you will not be disappointed in fact quite the opposite, You will be takin back by the detail in this home . Just loved it ! Thank You so much for everything and a wonderful getaway .
Outstanding accommodations and lovely view. Not a treacherous ascent to get to the home and yet the view is breathtaking. Would highly recommend.
"Bear"y Nice to Meet You!
Family Mountain Retreat to escape summer heat was beautiful! We arrived to a clean and tidy home, although the yard/outdoor area could use a bit of attention. The home was comfortable and inviting, not only to us but to a Mama and Baby bear that liked to visit looking for treats. The owner provided a trash can to keep rubbish in but the bears can open it, and open (empty) coolers left outdoors. We enjoyed seeing them up close and personal but would advise taking trash daily to the dumpsite located at the bottom of the mountain on 19 (white fenced in area directly across the road from BP gas station). The house was well furnished and very comfortable, there were a few slight issues upon check in, really just a matter of familiarizing with the home and amenities but the owners were very attentive and quick to answer. We didn't realize the location was quite as remote as it was but the views when having morning coffee and afternoon cocktails are WELL WORTH IT!! And really whats a few minutes drive from town when you are int he mountains? We enjoyed visiting surrounding area and will list a few of our "must visit if here" suggestions below. The Great Smokey Mountains are a beautiful sight and this home is one to consider for sure if you are looking to stay in the area.
Best of the best for us this week were:
-Maggie Valley Puzzle Room
-Smokey Mountain Tubing
-The Buttered Biscuit
Neat, clean, beautiful location!
This home is well-maintained and located in a beautiful setting!
Close to what we wanted to see yet isolated from the hustle and bustle.
We enjoyed the property tremendously, Isabella was a prompt responder and all was as we expected.
First the house and grounds. The floor plan was perfect as the road level (second floor) contained the master bedroom and bath plus another bathroom with laundry. The kitchen was great with a dining room and living room joining. For anyone who doesn't do stairs very well, this layout provides the perfect option as the wrap around porch provided a great view of the mountains. The master bedroom has a side room with a tremendous view that was used heavily for reading and relaxing. The bottom floor contained two bedrooms and a full bath and opens onto the rear grounds and the gated parking area. The loft was nicely secluded and included a queen sized bed. So, including the pull out couch on the bottom floor, you can sleep 10 comfortably. We had 7 in our party and it worked out nicely.
Parking. We arrived from several locations and ended up with 4 cars and a pickup truck with 14 ft trailer. The parking was more than adequate. The road level parking can handle up to three cars and the gated, lower level parking had the pickup and trailer, a caravan, 2 motorcycles and a dune buggy without feeling crowded. If we were all gone at once the gated parking with combination lock made us feel comfortable.
Peace and quiet. The entire time we were there we had two vehicles pass in front of the house (I think it's the next to last house on the road). We felt like we were the only ones on the mountain.
Roadway. The paved road that takes you to the front gate is curvy, twisty and fairly steep. I loved it. Even with the pickup and trailer loaded with 2 motorcycles and a dune buggy, there was never a problem. Once you enter the community the roads are well maintained, packed gravel. They actually graded and rolled the roads one day while we were there.
Location. You're only 45 minutes from Asheville and all the shops, culture and restaurants it has to offer. Maggie Valley is 20 minutes away and, being motorcyclists, we loved the Wheels Through Time museum (having the owners start and run 100 year old motorcycles for us was a rare treat). The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 30 minutes away. My wife made the 1 hour drive to Hot Springs and saw some of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. She also soaked in the hot tubs and had a marvelous massage.
A great home, responsive host and beautiful location made this a wonderful place for us.
