About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bath, Gorgeous Mountain Views For Miles

WE SOLD THIS CONDO AUG 31st. vrbo number /4641083ha is the new vrbo site where you can still rent it. The new owners are great folks! Thank you!

The Summit didn't get any fire damage and the areas surrounding our complex are still beautiful. The ski resort is still nice as it was and we invite you to come see! Downtown shops and most park trails are still as great as they were before the fires. Please come support our local economy, we depend on our visitors and appreciate you so much!

ALL ABOUT THE VIEW: We are so excited to be sharing our condo with others. Also if you need super hi speed internet, this is the place! It has its own dedicated cable wifi. We are up on the mountain several times a year to paint and do other updates to make this a truly beautiful vacation getaway. We just installed new vinyl plank flooring in the hallways and bathrooms which really made them shine! We have installed carpet in the bedrooms and living room and a new sofa with built in recliners has been delivered as well. We are doing all we can to continue to make this a special place for our guests so that they will want to visit time and time again.

We have had a host of wonderful vacationers stay and almost all have posted such nice comments! Ask about our military, and senior discounts.

Sit on your balcony first thing in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee and the views of the clouds drifting through the valleys below. Watch as wild life, (which may include bears) roam through the complex (typically late afternoon or early morning). In the evening enjoy looking down at the twinkling lights all the way to Sevierville. Watch Dollywood fireworks in season from the balcony as well.

Enjoy the heated pools and relax in a nice warm hot tub. Nestle into the cozy window seat to read a book or to surf the web ( we pay extra for our own high speed cable internet) while looking out over the mountain vistas. Cuddle in front of a crackling fire (free firewood provided, ask at the office) as you unwind from a day of sightseeing or shopping.

The condo borders The Smoky Mountain National Park, and it is just a short drive down the mountain to the entrance where you can experience the beauty via an auto tour or by hiking one of the many trails to a waterfall, or to panoramic overlooks. Spend the day in Gatlinburg where you will find plenty shopping, dining, shows, museums, and a great Aquarium. Nearby Pigeon Forge hosts Dollywood Theme Park and a splash park, outlet shopping, live shows, museums, helicopter tours and amusement fun for kids of all ages!

The Summit Condos are in the Chalet Village area near the top of Ski Mountain and they offer panoramic mountain views. The condo is only about a mile from Ober Gatlinburg which offers year round family fun and it is a short 10 minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg. Be aware that bears often cross the road so drive carefully. The road is winding and is steep at times so be sure to be alert when going up and down. You get used to it I promise. Once in the complex you will find plenty parking (much of it level) near the entrance to the stairwell going up to our unit. NOTE: If you need a 3 bedroom unit check out our other condo which is up the road about a half mile at High Chalet. We just bought it in Dec. 2014. vrbo 653549

If this one isn't available, we also have other 2 bedroom condos 3 blocks up the road , vrbo 721628 and vrbo 721605 (we purchased those in June of 2015) If you check there, you will see that we have excellent reviews! Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 10 am. This gives our cleaning crew time to get things fresh and clean between guests. We aim to keep all of our units nice and clean.

About Karen Hoblit

As a child growing up in middle Tennessee one of my favorite things to do was to go to the Smokies! I used to love wading the creeks, hiking up trails to waterfalls and watching candy makers stretch taffy in the candy shops in Gatlinburg. It was like being in a fantasy world. It took us away from all the chores at home and school.

As an adult I have traveled to many places both in and out of our country and I still rank the Smoky Mountains as one of those places where you love to come back to, over and over again. There is always something new to see and experience. It takes me back to a slower time where people were more into nature and just sitting on the front porch soaking up the view.

Karen Hoblit purchased this condo in 2013

Why Karen Hoblit chose Gatlinburg

We looked for almost two years at various places up in the mountains, to find a place that had great views, was close to nature, with amenities such as a heated pool, and a place with a friendly helpful staff. We found that at The Summit.

What makes this condo unique

The first time we looked out across all those mountain ranges to the city way below we fell in love with this place. It is so peaceful to open the sliding glass doors in the morning and drink in all the sights and sounds of the national park. There are no houses or roads below the condo on our side and it is quiet on the balcony except for the wind rushing through the trees at times.

The window seat is especially inviting and unique from other units that we viewed and we love the floor plan since it gives everyone privacy and space to do their own thing while on vacation together.

We hope to be able to enjoy this retreat as well as share it with visitors as a place to make wonderful memories for years to come.

We hope that you will come and make memories too. Bring your camera, you will need it! Warmest wishes, Karen :)

Owner's Response: We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! We sold this condo the end of August to some great folks. Check our description on the listing for their new vrbo number. We still have 3 condos, one in building 8 and 2 at High Chalet. See our description for those vrbo numbers. We are downsizing in order to spend more time with the grand children. :)

The view was absolutely great, and the condo was clean and cozy place to stay. Our first time there and we actually were able to see bears everyday, which was great for the kids

Cute condo!

We enjoyed our long weekend! Love the condo. The owner had to come by once (my husband did something to the tv and she came right over to fix it).

Owner's Response: I am so happy you enjoyed your stay at our place! It was a pleasure to meet you when I came down there. I stay up on the mountain a lot during the summer to beat the heat of south Texas so I am usually close by between April and October. I have to stay up at one of our units at the High Chalet 2 blocks up the street where I can take my dog. We love the mountains, wildlife and wonderful scenery in the area. We appreciate your business! Karen

We loved staying at The Summit!

  • 5 of 5

Our unit, 4207, was comfortable and clean and the views were fantastic. The bed in the master was very comfortable. We loved swimming in the pools and using the hot tub. It was a very scenic drive up and down the mountain to Gatlinburg and we saw 7 bears and that drive alone (including cubs) during our stay. The view from our balcony, including the sunsets and nightly fireworks from Dollywood, were fantastic. We will definitely stay here again!

Owner's Response: I am so pleased to hear you loved your stay! I think the bears are more plentiful this year due to the fires last fall. It is always exciting to see one but I cannot imagine 7! I hope you will come back again! Many thanks Karen

The unit was nice and clean. The view was beautiful!

  • 3 of 5

The trundle bed was hard and granddaughter didn't sleep well. The queen bed in master bedroom had a foam pad and we slept very comfortably. The unit needs measuring spoons and decent can opener. Indoor pool and jacuzzi had so much chlorine we couldn't enter, hard to breathe. I had no clue when booking how crooked and winding the roads are and if you aren't used to driving mountain roads you have to return before dark. Added too much stress to my husband's and my vacation! In the end the view wasn't worth it. We hiked to see Cataract Falls, great experience for granddaughter, got to wade in stream. Took the Ober Tram up an down the mountain. Walked and visited the stores, restaurants. WonderWorld in Pigeon Forge was worth seeing.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. I will replace the can opener and add some measuring spoons, if you had asked I would have brought some to you since I am up on the mountain for the summer. The trundle won't allow for a memory foam mattress or we would have placed them there too. The mattresses are premium and not specified as firm. We have stayed in the condo on many occasions and I have slept on them but didn't have any problem and I cannot sleep on firm beds. Most mountain lodging will require you to go up and down the mountain. The road to the Summit is one of 2 main roads up the mountain and is less curvy and steep than the side roads to other places up there. I gave instructions in your welcome letter on the easiest routes up and down to avoid traffic and the bad roads. You will want to stay in lodging down below in future trips if you are not comfortable going the 3 miles up the mountain. The pool and hot tub chlorine amount is set by the county health department so you may wish to send them your concerns since they enforce those guidelines by regular inspections and the complex can be written up if the guidelines are not followed. I am glad you enjoyed the tram and other visitor activities in town while you were here.
