About the property

Sleep To The Sound Of The River Outside Your Windows!

We have two properties in Estes Park at Blue Spruce Village. Unit #11 and this one unit #2 which we just purchased early July. While this is a new property for us we have owned Unit #11 for several years and invite you to view the comments other vacationers have written at VRBO #199878.

The Pinehenge is a beautifully appointed and decorated 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home. It is located right on the Big Thompson River in a quiet, private and gated community in the 'Blue Spruce Village'. The Big Thompson runs just a few feet away from the back deck. Enjoy your morning coffee or happy hour drinks listening to the rushing river from your wrap around, spacious wrap-a-round deck. Open the windows and hear the river all day and night! We stock the river with rainbow trout every 2 weeks between late June and late Aug.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, Private balcony overlooking the river and a gas fireplace. The second master has a queen size bed. The third bedroom is a good kids retreat as it has two queen size beds, walk-in closet and room to play games on the floor area. All Bedrooms are upstairs. The downstairs sofa opens to a queen size bed for two.

This home has it all. The kitchen is fully equipped with top quality dishware, cookware and utensils. Outside you'll find a New Weber gas grill. The living area has a TV/DVD/DVR plus a gas fireplace. We also provide WIFI internet access and Free long distance service should you need it.

Blue Spruce Village is approximately 5 minutes outside Estes Park and two miles from the entrance to the spectacular Rocky Mountain National Park. Only one quarter mile from the original entrance to the park, you can walk to a park trail that leads to beautiful Moraine Park. You won't be disappointed!

About Donna Claypool

We are a family that just moved from San Antonio to Austin, Texas only a few weeks ago. We love the wonderful weather in Texas but spending part of the summer in Estes is a wonderful climate change.

Donna Claypool purchased this house in 2013

Why Donna Claypool chose Front Range

We are a family that fell in Love with Estes Park. After renting the same home in Blue Spruce Village for 8 years we had the opportunity to make our dream become a reality. We purchased both Unit #11 (VRBO#199878) and now unit #2.

What makes this house unique

One of our favorite things to do (during the cool crisp mornings) is enjoy a great cup of coffee watching the river flow by while the kids feed the fish.

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was my 2nd time renting this perfect home on the Big Thompson River. This home was perfect for a girlfriends' reunion/getaway. It is conveniently located between Rocky Mountain National Park and the town of Estes Park. The back porch overlooks the Big Thompson River and is comfortably furnished making it a great spot for lounging and enjoying the scenery.

This home is special and I do plan to return soon.

Great house on the river and close to the Rocky Mountain YMCA

  • 5 of 5

This place is a winner. The house is very well kept. Our third year in the house.

Kitchen is well stocked. Great grill. Great porch by river. Beds are all comfortable. Three nice big bedrooms.

Awesome customer service. Perfect spot for us with 3 kids all going to the YMCA for day camp.

Great location not too close to town. Lots of fish in that river and I caught a bunch of them.

Great Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to the Pinehenge house and both stays were wonderful. The house is very neat and clean with comfortable furnishings. The back porch on the river was definitely our favorite feature and where we spent many hours relaxing and watching for wildlife. Plenty of hummingbirds and curious chipmunks to keep you entertained at all times! Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are terrific but were a little busier than I remembered from our previous trip. There are many great hikes in the park but be forewarned that you must arrive early to get decent parking, if you're able to find a place to park at all. Same goes for shopping/dining in town. The best meal we had was at the Dunraven Inn, but reservations are a must. I also recommend checking out the Rockcut Brewing Company if you are a beer lover. Awesome beer and the location was a little easier to get to than other spots in town.

Overall, it was a great vacation and a great house that we would definitely recommend to others visiting the area. Best location in town, if you ask me!

Very satisfied! A lovely home and setting.

  • 5 of 5

This place is perfect! I will definitely stay here again. It is clean, comfortable, and well kept.

The owners provide lots of extras, for example: laundry detergent, dishwasher and dish soap, trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee filters, pantry basics (including cooking oils, seasonings, flour, sugar), bird seed for the feeder, and shampoo, conditioner, body wash in each tub/shower.

The bed linens and towels are very nice, nothing old or shabby here. Beds are comfortable too.

The porch is comfortably furnished and is a great place to relax and watch the birds, chipmunks, deer, and the river.

Donna was so helpful and takes great care of this home and it's guests.

Thanks to the owners who share this little piece of heaven!
