Wonderful Respite

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic place. Pedro was so welcoming and showed great concern in our comfort. Such a beautiful, clean, happy place. My husband two daughters and a friend of my eldest child stayed for Memorial Day weekend. We fell in love with the place the minute we entered the driveway. If you are looking for a wonderful place to get away...this is it! We didn't want to leave.

Exactly what we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

A great home base for our family of 6, and we could have slept 2 more on the futon. House is an easy walk to the shops, restaurants, musical fountain and boardwalk of Grand Haven. Newly renovated and perfectly efficient with everything we needed, including eat-in kitchen, beautiful new bedding and towels! Walked 1 and 1/2 blocks to Morning Star Cafe every morning for brunch! Pedro and family very nice!

Wonderful house! Immaculately kept! Very family friendly! Close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time in Grand Haven! The house is immaculately kept, it is obvious the owners put a lot of effort into it. The house has everything you could need for a family plus a lot of extra amenities! The owners are very kind and helpful. We were within walking distance to the beach and the downtown area. Overall wonderful trip, definitely would rent from them again!

A Relaxing Place

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at this home for a week in June. The house is very clean and very kid- friendly. They have a Wii, toys and a sand box for kids and the library is just around the corner for rainy days. We enjoyed walking into town, and you can literally walk anywhere or bike anywhere you wanted to go. The town offers a trolley to the beach and other places and Grand Haven offers so many family friendly things to do. If you want to increase your options, Michigan Adventure is just a short 25 minutes away (we had a blast!), and Grand Rapids is about an hour. In Grand Haven. they have the musical fountain, concerts in the park with a food truck and ice cream and we enjoyed the farmers market down on the river. The house itself is decorated nice, very clean and they made good use of smaller spaces. It is well equipped for cooking at home although you may want to bring some of your staples such as a hand mixer if you like to bake or extra knives for prepping or grilling something that needs to be cut. The grill and the fire-pit out back are nice too. As for Pedro and Maria (owners), they were nothing short of wonderful and attentive to whatever was needed. They offered recommendations for where to rent and buy locally and were very responsive to anything we needed. We really enjoyed getting to know them. If you are looking for that Northern Michigan vacation in a great little beach town that hasn't been overrun with high-rises then Grand Haven is a great place to visit, and this house is perfectly situated to take in all that the area offers.

Great Value, Cozy Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week here with our two kids (5 and 7 years old) and absolutely loved it. The house is cute, spacious, and clean, and has pretty much everything you need, whether or not you plan to do much cooking at home during your stay. The immediate neighborhood isn't particularly scenic, but it's quiet and close to everything — Walgreens, Starbucks, and other chain stores a few blocks to the east; downtown and the river a comfortable walk or very short drive to the west; and the beach at the state park just a few minutes' drive away. There are some terrific local restaurants within 2-3 blocks of the house, and plenty more downtown and elsewhere in the area. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful before, during, and at the end of our stay, with lots of great recommendations for things to do in the area. We had a great time, and our kids are begging us to stay here again as soon as we can. I think we'll take them up on it!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Thouroughly enjoyed our stay in Grand Haven. The home was extrememly clean and had every amenity we could hope for. Our hosts were cordial and eager to ensure our stay was nice. Close enough to downtown to enjoy the fun and the beach was within walking distance. It was my first experience with Home Away, I'll definitely use it again based on this experience. I give the home and our hosts the highest recommendation!
