About the property

Sleep 5 in this cabin-atmosphere condo near Glacier Park & Whitefish Mtn Resort

Welcome to our Whitefish Glacier Retreat! Enjoy a cabin atmosphere in this 2-bedroom condo on Big Mountain in Ptarmigan Village, minutes away from the mountain resort town of Whitefish, Glacier National Park, Whitefish Mountain Resort (formerly Big Mountain Ski Area) and City Beach on Whitefish Lake. Full of Montana appeal, this partially-remodeled unit is the perfect accommodation for your family's or group's vacation activities.

Make this your personal home base while you check out the many opportunities to relax, shop or play. Whether visiting in the winter or summer, there are 'limitless' options for the outdoor enthusiast or those who prefer a more laid-back agenda. Local guide books, brochures and maps are in the unit to help you plan your activities for the day. A cooler and picnic blanket are also provided for your use during your outdoor excursions.

At the end of your adventure-filled day, you can unwind with a crackling fire in the fireplace, relax with a selection from NETFLIX on the Blu-ray player, soak in the village hot tub, hang out by the indoor or outdoor pool, watch the sunset from the village's private beach on Whitefish Lake, or enjoy a barbecue on your private deck overlooking a secluded forest area.

Floor Plan Layout: The first floor has an outside entry and consists of two bedrooms, full bath with tub/shower, and washer/dryer unit. The entry area includes hooks to hang your jackets and storage cubicles. The second floor is the main living area including a bathroom with small shower. There is an additional outside entrance that leads to a deck with a grill and outdoor table and chairs.

If any issues come up during your stay, on-site management and 24-hour on-call maintenance staff are available to assist you.

CANCELLATION POLICY: We provide a full refund for cancellations that are 14 days or more prior to arrival date and a 50% refund up to 7 days prior to arrival..

SAFETY NOTE - There are stairs leading up to the building, outside between the lower and upper condo unit entrances, and a narrow spiral staircase inside between the bedroom level and the main living level. If you or your guests have difficulties with stairs, we would not recommend this unit for you. Safety is our first concern, and we would not want anything to happen to spoil your visit.

About Marilyn Hays

Owners Tom and Marilyn Hays live in the central mountains of Colorado, have three children and five grandchildren. We enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and downhill and back country skiing.

Marilyn Hays purchased this condo in 2001

Why Marilyn Hays chose Whitefish Lake Area

Marilyn lives in Colorado but works in Whitefish, Montana. This condo was purchased to provide a quiet place to relax and unwind at the end of the day. Time and effort were spent to develop a more cabin-like atmosphere to make it a comfortable, enjoyable home-away-from-home during my long stays.

After more than ten years of long-distance commuting, my job changed and now allows me to work remotely from Colorado most of the time. We are happy to share the benefits of our cabin with others, and give YOU a place to call 'home' during your stay.

What makes this condo unique

Because the unit has been owner-occupied for many years, most of the conveniences of home are present. Its proximity to Whitefish Mountain Resort ski area, Glacier National Park, Whitefish Lake and the resort town of Whitefish lends itself to a wide variety of activities.

Wonderful Summer Memories. Clean, Cozy Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Ptarmigan Village and felt at home in this unit. At one point my daughter asked if we were at home. Beds were very comfortable, laundry was very helpful and this place had everything we needed! We did a lot of cooking and the fully equipt kitchen had everything we needed. Our kids loved the games, children's dishes and throws to lounge around the couch in the evening. I loved that this unit backed up to the trees - it was very quiet and private. My husband loved the grill and the outdoor seating area. We enjoyed the pools everyday and the indoor pool is awesome for young kids because there is a shallow end where they can touch. Marilyn was extremely helpful and always available when we needed her and was always happy to clarify things we needed. I was worried the unit would be hot since we went during a heat wave but the unit cooled down at night and was awesome. During the day the ceiling fan made things very comfortable. Oh - and did I mention the unit has frosty beer mugs and soft blankets? The unit also had everything we needed and more. Perfect for when we arrived. I am a tough critic and this place was awesome!!! Would definitely stay again.

Cozy condo!

  • 5 of 5

Nice, well-equipped condo. Good size for 4 people. Lots of stairs, but no problem if you have no mobility issues. Nicely furnished and appointed. Very clean. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, including an awesome collection of spices! Condo complex is quiet and has two nice pools, Jacuzzi, and tennis courts which are in good shape. 10 minute drive to downtown. Would stay here again.

Great for the two of us.

The property is very nice. Only fault is the distance to the beach access but once there it too was great.

Owner's Response: Stacy - I am glad to hear you liked our condo! Unfortunately, the beach access is a ten-minute drive and not right at the village, but I am happy to hear you enjoyed it once you were there. Marilyn

Great place to stay. It was our home away from home while we explored Glacier and Waterton.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I decided this was the best vacation ever. We love Glacier and Waterton. Specifically the awesome mountains and scenery. And Marilyn's condo/townhouse! It was sooooo much better than a hotel room. Comfortable beds, clean and spacious rooms. And a great swimming pool located in the resort. It was like coming home and made the perfect place for a base from which to explore Glacier National Park and Waterton. Marilyn answered our questions quickly. We'll definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Mountain Experience

  • 5 of 5

This little cabin is so perfect for our getaway! It has EVERYTHING you'd want for a mountain getaway. We played some of the many games, used the kitchen with all the extra pans/glasses/and even SPICES!, and ate every meal out on the deck - not seeing another person since it's completely surrounded by trees. While it's mostly original, it was VERY clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were updated, and very well appointed. Marilyn has everything you need to feel right at home immediately! The grill worked great, plenty of hot water, the pool was amazing and the hot tub even better (by the way - the pool facilities are only 8 years old or so). When the kids got bored (for a 1/2 hour), the TV is set up with Netflix and other things. Wifi was plenty fast for our needs. We even got great AT&T reception up there, but it still felt like you were way back in the woods. We caught several deer and a few turkeys walking through the neighborhood. It's a 5 min drive to Whitefish mountain resort where you could spend all your days hiking/biking/ziplining, etc. It's an hour to McDonald lake in Glacier, and 10 mins to town. We WILL be back!

Thanks Marilyn!

Owner's Response: Duane - We are glad you and your family enjoyed the many amenities of our condo and the area. We wanted to provide a place that guests enjoy coming back to and not "just a place to sleep". Providing staples in the kitchen makes it easier for guests to cook at home if they wish. Offering Netflix, games and coloring for kids gives parents a chance to relax after a day of busy adventures. We look forward to having you visit again! Marilyn
