Enjoy breathtaking views reaching into Tennessee and Virginia from 5100 ft. in elevation and level parking for two cars! As you wind your way up the mountain and leave city life behind, you will notice that the Reserve community is designed to complement the beauty of the natural surroundings.

As you enter the open-concept condo, you’ll see that it has been tastefully decorated with brand new furnishings throughout that are reflective of the rustic and rugged nature of the mountain environment.

To your left, the upgraded, gourmet kitchen has service for 12 and all the gadgets your menu could demand. Don't have a menu in mind? We've even included a small library of cookbooks if you'd like to try your hand at something new. A variety of pots, pans, roasters and baking dishes will make preparation a breeze. Matching stainless steel appliances add to the appeal of the kitchen and a full size washer and dryer are behind adjacent closet doors.

A raised breakfast bar which seats three transitions the kitchen to the dining area. Six can dine comfortably when the table is expanded. Just beyond lies the great room featuring two full-size sofas, and a custom-made leather chair and ottoman that you will never want to leave. Six can comfortably enjoy an evening in front of the stacked stone (gas) fire place while enjoying a favorite show or movie on the 50” adjustable, wall-mounted TV. A Blu Ray DVD player is connected and a small library of popular movies is provided for your enjoyment.

If TV isn’t your thing, then perhaps you’d like to challenge your family or friends to a variety of board games or a rousing game of poker or bridge. A library of books will please those who prefer quieter evenings. The great room also has a stereo system for your listening pleasure (CD, radio, docking station for most Apple products). In addition, a Bluetooth wireless speaker lets you sync your electronic device and enjoy your own music library!

From the great room, you can see for miles into Tennessee through a wall of sliding glass doors and panels. Step out on the large covered deck and enjoy morning coffee, rock your afternoon away or dine al fresco with friends while taking in another incredible western NC sunset! Wireless internet is available throughout the unit and out on the deck.

When it is time to turn in for the night, you’ll rest comfortably on new beds in either the master or guest suite. There is a King bed in the master, a Queen bed in the guest room and a luxury Queen sleeper sofa in the living room, all complete with cozy quilts or down comforters and extra pillows and blankets. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan, a 32” flat-screen combo TV/DVD and an attached bathroom. Sliding glass doors in the master suite open out to the 300+ square foot deck making for a magnificent view in the morning.

Two people will have more than enough room to get ready simultaneously as the master bathroom features dual vanities, a soaking tub and a spacious walk-in shower with multi-position shower head. Closet space is abundant. The full-size guest bathroom is accessible from both the guest bedroom and from the hallway.

Why Mac Musselwhite chose Blue Ridge Mountains

We love the North Carolina mountains. I grew up skiing at Sugar Mountain and my wife grew up vacationing with her family nearby. The area holds decades of fond memories for both of us. A few summers ago, close friends rented a condo at The Reserve for several weeks in the summer and invited us to share a few days with them in the NC High Country. It was on that visit that we fell in love with area and with The Reserve community. Over the next couple of years as we welcomed opportunities to revisit the area. In the fall of 2012, no longer being able to resist the pull, we made the decision to purchase our dream vacation home. We looked at a variety of developments in this area of the mountains, but we kept coming back to this unit. Frankly, the view from our deck at 5,100 feet in elevation is positively spectacular! It sealed the deal for us, and continues to reward us every time we visit. We never tire of exploring the surrounding communities either. Sugar Mountain is nestled between Boone, Banner Elk and Linville, North Carolina so we are close to a wide assortment of local attractions, amenities and restaurants.

What makes this condo unique

Of all the wonderful attributes of our home, it was the view that captivated us - and continues to do so today. It is always changing, both in color, mood and texture. I can just sit in a rocking chair on the deck and enjoy watching time go by.

BEST PLACE EVER!!

  • 5 of 5

I honestly didn't have high expectations because I have stayed at many mountain rentals (mostly on the west coast) in this price range and wow was I surprised! It was beautiful, nicely furnished, so clean and the view was spectacular! All the conveniences of home and everything worked. The fireplace was especially nice as a storm came in one evening and it couldn't have been more romantic. The kitchen is perfectly stocked with literally everything a cook could want; the couches and beds, very comfortable; and I could actually live in the master bath! The attention to details were very obviously intentional by someone who really cares about their guests. Getting the rental key and closing out were as easy as pie. Will be back many times over!!!

Perfect mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Love this place! This was my third trip to Sugar Mountain and definitely won't be the last. Spent a week last Summer and another week this Spring. Last time, the wife and i attended the Grandfather Mountain Scottish Games (15 minutes away) and enjoyed two days of wine tasting at 4 of the local vineyards. The owners left a book of local attractions and had menus with recommendations. Great insight and very helpful.

This time I took the entire family up for a long weekend and had a great time as well. Hit a number of local eateries, did some clothes shopping at Boone Mall and Blowing Rock Outlet Mall, enjoyed an ice cream cone right on the river at the Mast General Store, watched cloudy sunrises over the "smoky mountains" (yes, I know the Tennessee side is the "Smokies" but it is easy to see why that name when you wake up to it) and viewed spectacular sunsets off the covered deck. One night it looked like a giant fireplace with a vibrant red glow encased by a cloudy mantel. Amazing! Never seen anything like it.

I can not recommend this place enough. The location is ideal, lots of nearby dining (at every price point), shopping and outdoor activities are plentiful. The beds are comfy, plenty blankets, immaculately clean, and well appointed. The kitchen has enough gadgets for any foodie and an adult beverage in front of the stone fireplace is a romantic way to wind down the evening. Everything you could ask for. I wish my job would allow me to work remotely because I would spend a month up there!

relaxing

  • 5 of 5

I went to this condo to write. What I found was everything I needed plus. The view was fantastic, condo had ever thing anyone would ever want including wonderful beds, fully equipped kitchen, heavenly soaking tub,and perfect weather. We were even in a cloud.

The first night I opened a window and slept 10 hours. There is so much to do at Sugar Mt. and I did get a little writing done.

A Fabulous Retreat

  • 5 of 5

What, a fabulous retreat! This is not your ordinary condo. It has just about everything you can imagine. I think it is tastefully appointed with great concern for comfort and convenience. It's hard to think of anything one would need that isn't provided. The beds are quite comfortable. the kitchen well equipped. The view is spectacular! I loved my morning coffee on the porch. I feel like the owner wants to make sure you have a great time during your stay. He has provided lots of information on fun things to do in the community, along with suggested restaurants and a shopping guide. The best recommendation I can give this place is my return. I am looking forward to my next visit in June.

Beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed our stay in Sugar Mountain. The property was beautifully appointed, clean and well maintained. It felt brand new! We especially enjoyed the luxury shower in the master bath and the gas fireplace. We also appreciated the extra kitchen and bath amenities and the convenience of having a washer and dryer. There were plenty of books, games, and DVDs for our entertainment. We had everything we could have needed!

Although it was a cold and rainy weekend, we had a lot of fun. We visited Linville Caverns, a great destination in bad weather because the caverns are covered and the temperature remains the same year round. At Doc's Rocks Gem Mine in Blowing Rock, we took advantage of the heated indoor flume and appreciated their great customer service. Our son caught his first fish at Grandfather Trout Farm, located very close to the property. We enjoyed returning to the condo each night and relaxing with a fire in the fireplace.

Thanks for a great vacation stay!

Sugar Mountain is a wonderful vacation destination located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. It is a favorite location for any season with plenty to do and see. In the fall, the mountains are ablaze with color and culture. In colder months, play outdoors on one of North Carolina’s best-known slopes – Sugar Mountain Ski Resort – where you can ski, snowboard, tube or ice skate. (The summit of the slope is a short walk from our front door.) Summer temperatures are delightful and surrounding towns of Banner Elk, Newland, Blowing Rock and Boone come alive with outdoor activities and festivals. The local area has much to offer outdoor adventure-seekers, college sports fans, golfers, fishermen, art aficionados, wine connoisseurs, self-proclaimed 'foodies', culture-seekers, shoppers and families. Spend a little time there and you’ll know why!

Our condominium at The Reserve on Sugar Mountain was built in 2006. This is the newest development on Sugar Mountain and is a premiere location for your mountain getaway. You will appreciate the architecture and natural surroundings as you drive through the development up to our unit. Ours is one of only a few to offer level parking, making it easy to get into and out of your vehicle. Situated at 5,100 feet in elevation we’re most pleased to offer a breathtaking view of western North Carolina that reaches into Tennessee and Virginia on clear days. Recently renovated with lots of care, we’d love to share our slice of heaven on earth with you!!
