Welcome to our neighborhood. Heritage Hill is set in the epicenter of Oregon's finest Pinot Noir vineyards, the Ribbon Ridge AVA. Within a two-mile walk of Heritage Hill, you can meet our internationally known neighbors and friends at the following wineries: Domaine Divio, Beaux Freres, Brick House, Ayres, Aramenta, Adelsheim, Utopia, Trisaetum, Patricia Green, Bergstrom and ArborBrook, to name a few. Look out over a beautiful new vineyard and tasting room from the front deck of the house.
The hilltop view of Heritage Hill is complemented by the quiet of the dense fir forest that is in back of the house. If you are searching for a private getaway spot that is still within a stone's throw of Pinot Noir heaven, you have just found it. Welcome to our neighborhood.
Nicholas and Cheri Meyerhofer purchased this property shortly after falling in love with the wine that is produced here. They are retired professionals who continue to spend as much time at Heritage Hill as the booking schedule allows.
Michele Bertagna purchased this farmhouse in 2007
Not just the wine, but also the sense of history. Heritage Hill, located just off of Lewis Rogers Lane, is so named because its original owner was the Oregon pioneer Lewis Rogers. He lies buried in the family cemetery that is located near Heritage Hill.
Location is everything. True, Heritage Hill offers unique access to a world-class wine tasting experience, especially for Thanksgiving weekend. But it also offers a quiet retreat with incredible views of the North Willamette Valley, 365 days of the year.
My wife and kids (3 and 5 yrs) shared this house with some good friends of ours (whom also had a 3 and 5 yr old) and had a fantastic stay. First, if you want a relaxing getaway situated basically in the middle of amazing wineries, this location is for you. The house is literally minutes away from awesome tasting rooms including Trisaetum and Bergstrom and 20 minutes from Argyle, Domaine Serene, Domaine Drouhin, etc.
Second, there was plenty of space for both of our families and toys for the kiddos! In fact my oldest daughter fell in love with a doll at the house and I'm struggling to find out what kind it is (owners: if you are reading this can you send me the brand? I forgot to write it down...I think the name of the doll on the tag is Ida). Also, there is a swing hanging off a tree just outside the house, which was obviously a huge hit. Plus, there is plenty of room for the kids to run around and explore outside.
Third, I love wood burning fire places and took advantage of the endless inventory of logs in the covered shelter in the backyard.
I would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity. Future guests should know a couple things: (1) the water is (I'm assuming) sourced from a groundwater well and has a slight hint of a sulfurous smell. The water tastes great so this wasn't an issue for us but did make the kitchen smell slightly when we ran the washing machine. (2) internet is obtained via satellite and the owner requests minimal usage of the wifi connection (ie, try not to stream HD on your phone or on a Chromecast/fire TV) as the data charges incurred by the owner could be very expensive.
That's it! Overall, we had a great stay and wish it would've lasted longer. It was fantastic to vacation in a rural area and relax in the spacious accommodations.
We had a fabulous ladies weekend at this house. Great location, very well stocked, clean and comfortable, hosts even provided a bottle of wine and some eggs and sausage for breakfast! By the time we left we were already talking about coming back the following year. Thank you!
Right in the heart of wine tasting area. Home was well kept and very well stocked with everything you might need. There was a welcome note when we arrived, telling us to enjoy the welcome bottle of wine from the vineyard down the road (there was no bottle of wine, but we did not have to go far to get one...there is a cute little vineyard tasting room right out front of the house, Domaine Divio, which we would recommend). Would not hesitate to stay again.
Five ladies visited this property for a wine tasting trip to the Willamette Valley. The setting was absolutely perfect. It is a beautiful and serene location. We enjoyed our trip down the hill to Domaine Divio Winery as well as several other wineries in the Dundee/Newberg area. This home provided the perfect location from which to explore the area.
The rental process went very smoothly. Communication with Michelle was easy and she responded promptly to the few questions we had. She gave excellent directions and instructions for entering the property. The home was comfy and had a homey feel. The kitchen was well stocked and everything seemed very clean. The beds were very comfortable and there were tons of books to read, games to play and great TVs for viewing (which we did for about 30 minutes just to catch up a little on the news!!!). Even though it was a little rainy and chilly to take full advantage of it, the wrap around deck was amazing!! The rating of 5-stars reflects our experience at the home as well as for the home itself, as we were seeking a laid back, country environment as opposed to luxurious accommodations. This home truly fit the bill for us!!
Hosting family and friends at the Heritage Hill House for my doctoral graduation weekend was a wonderful experience. It was the perfect setting to celebrate in wine country! I highly recommend this property.
Everything at the house was perfect -- well-stocked, clean, organized, etc. We really appreciated the extra stools that were available for additional seating. We all felt that the beds and pillows were super-comfy.
Great opportunities for wine tasting nearby: Domaine Divio (just down the hill!), Aramenta Cellars (jut up the hill!), and the award-winning Utopia Vineyards just a few miles away -- they have some of the best pinot noir in the world (I promise). There are hundreds more I could list! If you are interested in wine tasting, this is an excellent basecamp to travel to the tasting rooms in the Dundee Hills, Carlton, Ribbon Ridge, downtown Newberg, and so on.
This was a beautiful place to be during rainy, dreary weather because of the views of the valley (our stay was in December 2015). I can tell that it would be AMAZING during the summer because of the deck and several outdoor spaces.
The drive to Newberg is only about 12 minutes -- very convenient!
My children and grandchildren spent Christmas together in this home. We had plenty of room. The fire place is cozy. The views are excellent. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. The weather prevented us from doing anything out doors so we would love to stay again in the summer time.
The Willamette Valley is home to green forests, rolling hills, and arguably the finest Pinot Noir produced in the United States. Choose from over 300 wineries/tasting rooms on a self-guided tour, or make arrangements to be driven.
