About Angel LeSage

John and Angel have lived in Sutter Creek for 38 years. John has a wood manufacturing business in town where he makes fine furniture, entertainment centers, & kitchens. For 30 years we have lived 3 miles out of town where we raised our daughter. Sutter Creek is small enough that everyone knows each other; we find it to be a wonderful place to live and visit.

Angel LeSage purchased this cottage in 2011

Why Angel LeSage chose Gold Country & High Sierra

The original owner Enola Scott had lived in the house for ~50 years and moved out in 2009 at the age of 100. We named the cottage after Enola --- as she was well known in town --- running an antique business out of the garage and drove around town in her green VW.

Cozy house and very convenient

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Sutter Creek and the house could not of been more convenient. My only suggestion is having a few of the basic condiments to make cooking easier. We do a ton of VRBO and there is always basic kitchen supplies. In the summary it says if you're are staying two or more nights there is complimentary wine and cheese, and that was no where to be found. All in all it was very enjoyable. The house was very clean. Thanks Angel and John

Magical Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Christmas in Sutter Creek was delightful. Wine tasting and good food, stores open late and people everywhere. There was singing in the street, a Los Posadas parade and an Irish band at the local theater.

Enolas Cottage was equipped perfectly for us. Plenty of room, cozy and sweet and steps away from down town. Despite the cold and the age of the house, the heaters kept the rooms a nice temperature and beds were very comfortable.

Very likely we will be back for next years Holiday weekend.

Girl's Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and myself had a great time in this Cottage. it was neat, clean and very up-to-date. We loved the antique touches throughout the property. There were four of us and we were able to walk everywhere in Sutter Creek from this wonderful home. Kitchen was well stocked and house was easy to get in and out of, no need to worry about carrying keys! We loved that! We will be back!

I stayed here with a group of friends while we were attending the Big Crush. It is very comfortable and charming. It is a short walk to the shops and restaurants in quaint downtown Sutter Creek.

Sutter Creek known as the Jewel of the Motherlode is a small rural town with historic buildings that were built in the 1860’s during the peek of the gold rush. It is fun to stroll through town with antique shopping, an ice cream parlor, and wine tasting lounges, a cheese store, a chocolate store and several restaurants and bars. All this is available with just a short walk from the cottage and no designated driver needed for in town known for wine tasting.

If you are up for a wine tasting adventure just a short 15-minute drive to Shenandoah Valley (known for its rich red wines) will have a selection of over 20 winery’s to visit. If you are into skiing Kirkwood is a 70-minute drive up highway 88. Fishing is available at Lake Pardee, Mokelumne River, Silver Lake and Caples Lake. Or if you are in a kick back mood Sutter Creek is the place for a relaxing weekend.
