About Angel & John LeSage
John and Angel have lived in Sutter Creek for 38 years. John has a wood manufacturing business in town where he makes fine furniture, entertainment centers, & kitchens. For 30 years we have lived 3 miles out of town where we raised our daughter. Sutter Creek is small enough that everyone knows each other; we find it to be a wonderful place to live and visit.
Angel & John LeSage purchased this Cottage in 2011
Why Angel & John LeSage chose Sutter Creek
The original owner Enola Scott had lived in the house for ~50 years and moved out in 2009 at the age of 100. We named the cottage after Enola --- as she was well known in town --- running an antique business out of the garage and drove around town in her green VW.

What a great place. We stayed for an extended visit and feel we made a good choice in staying here. It is a short leisurely walk to downtown. The house met our needs. We fixed many meals in the newly remodeled kitchen. It was convenient and well stocked. The shower was nice. Sutter Creek is a quaint town with good places to eat and is quite at night. We enjoyed walking on the side streets off of main street looking at the houses and gardens.
Nice clean place
We stayed for four nights and toured the countryside. Everything from fishing, wine tasting, cave exploring, touring the small towns. One block from downtown easy walk to shops and restaurants. The place was well equipped and very modern and clean. Could have used a dresser in the bedrooms - had to live out of the suitcase - not my favorite thing to do. we will be back :)
exiting driveway is a little tricky - almost got hit twice.
Comfy and Cozy!
First off, the beds are very comfy...... Slept so Good. And the house and back yard area are very dog friendly. Sutter Creek is a cute little town and a close walk from the house. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Cute home great location
We enjoyed our stay and would rent again. We thought it would be dark inside with all the wood, but not so. Beds were comfortable, and bath was remodeled. Kitchen was well stocked, only thing that would have been better if there were Ziploc bags for leftovers, and aluminum foil. Only a block from Sutter Creek, shops, wine tasting and restaurants. Enjoyed it all.
This was perfect for our family of 5. Beautiful little place. Would definitely stay here again.
Enola's Cottage was the perfect place for us, great location and beautiful accommodations. We will defiantly stay here again.
Sutter Creek known as the Jewel of the Motherlode is a small rural town with historic buildings that were built in the 1860’s during the peek of the gold rush. It is fun to stroll through town with antique shopping, an ice cream parlor, and wine tasting lounges, a cheese store, a chocolate store and several restaurants and bars. All this is available with just a short walk from the cottage and no designated driver needed for in town known for wine tasting.
If you are up for a wine tasting adventure just a short 15-minute drive to Shenandoah Valley (known for its rich red wines) will have a selection of over 20 winery’s to visit. If you are into skiing Kirkwood is a 70-minute drive up highway 88. Fishing is available at Lake Pardee, Mokelumne River, Silver Lake and Caples Lake. Or if you are in a kick back mood Sutter Creek is the place for a relaxing weekend.
