Overview

About the property

1 bed -1 bath, 450 s/f private suite, 450 s/f deck outside your door!

Everyone loves this charming, breezy, hotel-style apartment. It's actually part of my house – it’s the master bed/bath suite. It’s separated from the rest of the house by a wall and has its own entrance. Kind of duplex-style. The interior connecting door remains locked, and our paths don’t cross inside the home. Note to people with cat allergies: Two cats live on the property. They never go in this rental unit, but I can't guarantee there will never be a cat hair in the room, despite extensive cleaning between guests.

Important: Although it’s your own private space, it is part of a house, and therefore not 100% soundproof. Though I'm mostly very quiet, you may occasionally hear a clanking pot, a burst of laughter or, on rehearsal nights, my band playing. It’s all muffled due to good soundproofing ... but not perfect soundproofing. We rarely hear our guests because of layout logistics and an excellent white noise machine.

The space includes a near-new queen-size bed, flat-panel TV, mini-fridge/freezer, microwave, 4-cup coffeemaker, and large armoire for clothes and other items. We do have wi-fi. On the deck just outside your door is a sitting area, gas grill, and sprawling yard with trees forever (we share the deck, grill and yard). Please note, there is no kitchen. We do provide dishes, coffee mugs, drinking and wine glasses, and utensils.

Rose Cliff Drive is a peaceful avenue in a quiet section of East Nashville, just six minutes to the lively Five-Points social hub, 10 minutes to downtown, 15 minutes to Opryland. The neighborhood is very residential and composed almost entirely of brick ranch houses. Our street is just three blocks long, ending in a cul de sac, so it stays very quiet here. We’re 20 minutes from the airport.

About the location:

East Nashville is comprised of several sub-neighborhoods, each with its own special features. There are three main sections: the Historic District; Rosebank; and Inglewood. The Historic section is nearest to downtown, has lots of hustle and bustle, and features early 1900s architecture -- Victorians, cottages, etc. Five minutes east of the Historic District is our neighborhood -- Rosebank. Rosebank is a leafy neighborhood with mainly 1950s brick ranch homes. Inglewood is to the north of us, and is sort of a cross between the first two -- it's leafy and residential, but features older homes, such as arts and crafts, and bungalows. If you want to be in a high-activity area, or within walking distance of shops and restaurants, you'd want to stay in the Historic District. If it's OK to be a couple of minutes away from that, Rosebank and Inglewood are perfect, very nice, and often have lower rates.

Regarding transportation: It's best to have a car; as we're a few minutes' drive from the nearest activities. Uber and Lyft, the alternative cab services, are a great option, too; many of our guests use them even when they have their own car. The #4 metro bus stops a block away from here and makes several stops downtown.

Please note: We’re musicians, so you may occasionally hear us playing, though we tend not to play when guests are here. Also, Julie is in a band – an acoustic trio. They practice once a week, either in our living room or, in warm weather, on the deck. If you're home when we practice, you'll definitely hear us. But we always discuss practice with guests beforehand so they know it's coming and to see if they prefer a time curfew on it. Occasionally, guests sit with us when we practice on the deck, and we love that. One recent couple said it was the best part of their vacation!! And it is rather fun.

We're happy to help you with anything – places to go, things to see and how to get there.

Nearby, you'll find:

• Opryland (15 minutes)

• Downtown (including Bridgestone and the Music City Center) (10 minutes)

• Five-Points (6 minutes) – restaurants, bars, coffee houses, shopping, gourmet ice cream, musical instrument store and much more

• Shelby Bottoms (2 minutes) – a nature reserve for walking, jogging and bike-riding

Check-in is 4p; check-out is 11a. If you're planning to look move here or buy investment property here, please talk to me -- I am a real estate agent! I'd love to see how I can help you with that.

Why Julie Zeitlin chose Nashville

East Nashville is a wonderful neighborhood, a real 'community' - which I never had growing up in giant L.A.

What makes this apartment unique

The back features a huge deck and beautiful, sprawling back yard. Inside, there are lots of windows and light, a gorgeous red tile floor throughout, and a bathroom most guests say is 'to die for,' not least because of the giant, slate-tiled shower. The suite is an add-on to the house that I designed myself, and the result is a unique, modern, cozy space.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was our first Airbnb experience and we will definitely do it again! Julie and Rick's place was exactly as advertised. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable, which is just what we wanted!

Awesome

The studio was great. Exactly as pictured. It was only about a $10 uber ride to broadway and there were a ton of fun bars and restaurants in East Nashville. Solid location. Julie was so nice and very accommodating. We would definitely stay again.

Worked out perfectly

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for 3 days to go to a conference at the Music City Center....drove to Nashville which gave me good flexibility and that included taking along my bike in the car. Julie's place is not that far off of Shelby Park and between that and the bike friendly nature of the streets and the John Siegenthaler Pedestrian Bridge to downtown, it worked out very well to just bike back and forth to the conference.... plus the weather cooperated.

Julie's place was quite comfortable, quiet and clean. The one issue that I was concerned about was that I wanted at least a small work space so that I could do a bit of computer work. When I got there, a small folding table and chair were in the room which was all I needed. The other thing I needed was a decent wireless and there were no problems there either.

The one thing I appreciated about Julie was that she communicated quite well as far as expectations and timing issues so there were no misunderstandings.

All in all, it worked out quite well and I would definitely stay here again....I got to go to my conference, the distance on my bike was just nice bit of exercise and Julie's place was a great fit for what I needed.

Julie was absolutely lovely, and was helpful for awesome eats and attractions around Nashville. The unit was perfect size and was only a short uber ride to the downtown core. Highly recommend this unit and will probably be back soon.

A perfect feel of the South!

  • 5 of 5

This private suite in the suburb of East Nashville was exactly what we needed. Spotless, very comfortable and well-equipped, it was a great home base to see whatever we wanted. The A/C unit was amazing - super quiet when needed. Julie had highlights info printed and her advice to view Nashville as a series of distinct neighborhoods was spot on. Loved it all.
