Don't miss out on our newly remodeled 1 br, 2ba unit directly across the street from one of Maui's best family beaches, Kamaole 2.

Our unit has recently undergone a facelift with remodeled kitchens and bathrooms, new full sized washer and dryer, new painting and drapes. The kitchen boasts new appliances, kitchen ware and small appliances.

We are located in building G/H, which houses the registration and concierge desks. An elevator takes you to the second floor, and a luggage cart is handy for use while you unpack your car directly in front of the building. We have our own designated parking space directly across the driveway from the office in a large parking garage.

A king sized bed sleeps two comfortably, and a pull out sofa couch can accommodate two more. Two bathrooms keeps everyone from running over the top of one another, and the kitchen island and dining table combined with the lanai table provide plenty of seating options for everyone. We have gone out of our way to ensure that everything you need to cook or grill your meals is on hand, and have a book of our favorite places on the Island to give you suggestions on great off-property dining and activities.

The Maui Banyan complex is located within walking distance of great food, ranging from coffee and plate lunches to waterfront fine dining. Groceries, wine, and spirits can be purchased at the Whaler in the neighboring Rainbow Mall, where you can also find Kihei Aloha Ice Cream & Yogurt and the famous Cinnamon Roll Fair. Natural and organic foods can be found three blocks north, next to Maui Tacos and Snorkel Bob's. Great snorkeling and swimming can be had just across the street at Kamaole Beach II, but more adventuresome types can rent kayaks and stand up paddleboards a block away. Maui Dive Shop is located nearby, and great beach dives can be found within a 10 minute drive. Surfing and paddleboard lessons, as well as a children's park are both located a mile north at Kalama Park.

Just a 5 minute drive south of the complex is Wailea, with fine dining, golfing, beaches, and shopping.

For visitors wanting to go on one of the many whale watching excursions, Maalea Harbor is about 30 minutes away. Maalea is also where you can find the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium and family fun park with mini golf and bumper boats.

For groceries, most visitors will probably stop at the Costco which is right next to the Kahalui airport for major staples. Whole Foods has recently moved into Kahalui, and Safeway and Foodland are both a quick drive away for day to day needs.

We enjoy making a road trip to Lahaina, which is about 45 minutes away. Other day trips include the famous Road to Hana, heading up to the Haleakala Volcano, checking out Paia, or visiting the Iao Needle near Wailuku.

About Richard Tuott

We are retired schoolteachers and commercial fishermen from Alaska who have been coming to Maui for almost 30 years. After our third snowstorm in the month of April, we decided that coming to Maui every February wasn't going to be enough to keep us warm, so we decided to buy a condo in our favorite home away from home!

Why Richard Tuott chose South Maui

We have been coming to Kihei since 1988, and after staying in many of the different condo complexes up and down the beach, we found the perfect place to relax at the Maui Banyan. The grounds are well maintained, people are extremely friendly, and the location directly across from Kamaole Beach II all combine to make the Maui Banyan ideal for family vacations. Our grandchildren, ages 7 and 6, love Kamaole Beach because of it's gentle slope and kid-friendly waves, and the grounds at the Maui Banyan are great to chase geckos and lizards. They've also fallen in love with the incredible cinnamon rolls in the morning and night time ice cream cones that can be found at the neighboring Rainbow Mall a short walk away.

Perfect place in Kehei!

We are a family of 4 (2 young boys) and this place was a great fit! Close to the beach, can walk to dinner, & get great shave ice. We truly enjoyed our time and would love to stay again soon!

Beautiful condo, owners are the best!

Our first trip to Maui was amazing, thank you Rich and Peg! We had never used vrbo, but Rich not only took the time to explain the process to us, he answered any question (and I asked several) without hesitation. The condo is beautiful, stocked with everything you would have at home, and need for Maui, beach chairs, cooler bags, fully stocked kitchen and the list goes on. The condo is a 5 minute walk from the beach, shopping, eating, very convenient location. Rich stayed in contact with us throughout our planning and even made sure we made it safely. We can not say enough kind things about Rich and Peg, you are a big reason our vacation was so enjoyable! We will definitely return! Thank you!

Beautiful Condo and Thoughtful Owners

We stayed for a week and it was the perfect home away from home. The unit had the beach and kitchen necessities and more than we had hoped for. Rich and Peg gave us great tips and advice on the activities we had planned, they even checked in on us to make sure everything was ok! The Banyan has great amenities and the grounds are kept clean. There are many beaches and shops within walking distance or a short drive. This was our first trip to Maui and we will be returning

Wonderful location, the owners think of everything to make your trip enjoyable and easy. They provide beach chairs, towels, sunscreen and coolers. All you have to do is put on your bathing suit and go. We didn't want to leave.

We love snorkeling the reefs at nearby Kamaole beaches 2 and 3. There is a wonderful variety of fish, and turtles and eels are often seen. The coral formations are fantastic. Walking the beach at sunset allows opportunity to view Maui's amazing sunset.

We often visit the little town of Makawao which has wonderful galleries and quaint restaurants. An early visit to the general store might reward you with delicious cream puffs, a delicacy that is highly sought after. A stop at Sherry Reeve's gallery usually finds the artist in residence and at work on her latest project. You will be sure to find a lovely souvenier of your Maui stay. You will also have an opportunity to watch glass blowing at the glass shop down the street.

Further down the road is the interesting and historic town of Paia with more shops and good food available.

Near Paia on the road to Hana is Hookipa beach where you can watch the surfers and wind surfers tackle the breathtaking waves.
