Free transportation from the airport for stays of 6 nights or longer. We look forward to providing tips and helping you to experience the beautiful island of Roatan. Vanessa is our local concierge, she will help arrange airport transfer, car rentals, kayak and paddle board rentals, or arrange for tours.
We offer free transportation from the airport for stays of 6 nights or longer. For stays shorter than 6 nights, we will arrange for transportation upon request, however, guest is responsible for associated fees.
Typical airport transfer with grocery stop is $30. Our concierge can arrange for additional transportation and your transportation back to the airport, any additional fees will be paid directly by guest to the taxi driver.
Our concierge Vanessa lives on island about a mile from the home and she is available to help guests with their needs. If she cannot be reached please don't hesitate to email Shevy at Shevy@everydaylux.com or call/text him at 949.769.1599, our goal is for you to have a wonderful stay. We also own a 1 bed 1 bath beach bungalow next door that accommodates 2-4 if you have a larger group.
There is a rain fed creek on the property line and a bridge that goes over it to get to the dock when it rains. The bridge has been taken out on rare occasion with very heavy rain. But once the rain subsided the dock can still be accessed from shore.
The snorkeling, swimming, and diving from the home at the end of the dock at spooky channel is some of the best on the island.
Swimming off the dock is best at this home. We do not destroy sea grass like some resorts. The benefit to preserving sea grass is that it conserves sea life, provides protection for sea turtles, and makes for abundant sea life on the reef off the dock but it’s not ideal for swimming near the shore. We recommend to swim off the end of the dock.
In addition, we have friends that own an adjacent property a few lots off of the beach with a swimming pool that also sleeps 8, perfect for large groups. The wrap around deck lets you view the sun setting on the Sea in front and the moon rising in the back.

Why Shevy and Erika with local concierge Vanessa chose Sunnyside
I love snorkeling, my wife loves laid back Caribbean Islands, we have traveled throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America but Roatan is our favorite! While travelling back from Belize about 5 years go someone on our plane overheard us talking about what we liked about Belize, with our only issue being how far off shore the reef was. Hearing that, they said we had to go to Roatan, so we did and we fell in love. We fell in love with Roatan, it has elevation, beautiful lush vegetation, snorkeling and diving right off shore, delicious food, and friendly locals. We love Sunnyside because of its privacy and lush vegatation, 400 foot dock, reef about 30 yards off the end of the dock than can be explored for hours, yet close enough to west end and west bay to enjoy the shops and restaurants when we wish. We love this bungalow, while the main home is tough to beat set right on the sand with a long beach before it and then the water, this home is off set between the main home and our neighbors at Spooky Cannel next door, with a water channel running behind it and in front of it to the right and a clear view to the Caribbean Sea, lush vegetation, and the beach path between our main home and Spooky Channel.
What makes this House unique
Our beach house dock is such about a 50 yard swim to the reef for a wonderful snorkel and diving experience 50 yards off the dock

Property was as presented however "concierge" really only checked us in and out
We loved the location, private beach and access to snorkeling from the dock. Had issues getting bottled water. Also advertised as all paper products provided but ran out of tp and paper towels and had to purchase more of those items. I think advertising the property with it's own private concierge is a bit misleading. We saw her at check in and check out but we arranged all of our own tours and transportation. The property is in need of repairs. All in all had a great trip but if we go back may look for a different property
Thanks for the review!
I'm really sorry that you had issues getting bottled water. I had no idea, we normally have plenty of bottles there for the water tank and if not Ress and Vanessa are available to run them over.
I will contact you directly to find out what happened and discuss so we can see how that process can be improved so that won't happen again in the future.
In regards to Vanessa, we've had a number of glowing reviews in the past two years so I'm disappointed to hear that she did not meet your expectations, I'm also surprised that you didn't reach out to me to let me know about your challenges.
I was not aware that you ran out of TP, I'm sorry to hear that.
In regards to repairs, as you know we are right in front of the beach and the salt water does make for some wear and tear but we are diligent to make repairs as they become apparent and more than that we are constantly striving to improve the property.
With that said we have made a number of improvements to the property over the past 2 years, including paint throughout, enlarging the back window and slider, new gutters, refinishing the deck, adding a dual mini-split AC unit to the family room, adding a new tank-less water heater, replacing most of the electrical system, replacing all switches and plugs, refinishing all of the kitchen cabinets just to name a few of the upgrades.
We have a few projects in mind but no guests have communicated any disrepair items that have not been addressed.
I'll give you a call so we can discuss recommended repairs and we will get started as soon as the unit has an opening.
Roatan is a beautiful island and the people were the same. The house did the job for us, we were 7 people (friends and family) and it was nice to have the beach cottage behind the main house to escape to, which was nicely remodeled. Shevy and Vanessa were more than gracious. The snorkeling was great in front of the house, saw a turtle on the 1st day. Good restaurants we went to were the sunken fish and the Oasis. Went to la Sirena restaurant on the East end on a Monday and they were closed. Cayo Cochinos is a must !
Great location, top notch reef access right from the front door/dock. Wonderful view!
Great time snorkeling, swimming and watching sunrise/sunsets on the front porch.
Dive boats (Blue Islands Divers) picked us up right at the dock for some of the best dive spots we have experienced. Shevy and Vanessa were very accommodating, gave us some great tips and information that were very helpful, including hiring a chef for a day, which we would highly recommend. Snorkeling the channel right in front of the dock was amazing!!! Can't say enough about the location.
There is nothing better than having the sand and water just feet from your front door!
This was a very comfortable place for 3 couples. Each couple had their own bedroom and private bath, along with patio doors to access the deck. The house is located a short walk to the main road, where taxis would run frequently so all we had to do was walk up to the road and hail a taxi for any of our destinations. We went to West End a couple different times and just walked down the street. We shopped, drank and ate at many of the different bars, restaurants and street vendors. We went to Coxen Hole one night and went to a real local place for drinks and music and they adapted to us well! We tried to visit with the local people as much as we could. Most everyone could speak English but if they couldn't, they never made us feel bad for not knowing Spanish. Very friendly island. We did hire a couple young men named Rudolph Green and Chris Amaro, (both can be found on facebook), to give us a tour of the East end of the island. They were very friendly and informative. We got to hold the monkeys, we were treated to a local dance while we were in the Garifuna community of Punta Gorda and we took a water taxi to a great little place called The Hole in the Wall. We would highly recommend them! The property was as it was explained and Vanessa did a great job. My luggage was delayed for a few days and she even took me clothes shopping. She also shared her favorite Sashimi recipe for fresh Tuna. We went deep Sea fishing with Enry and we caught Tuna and Barracuda. When we got back, we hired a local cook (Shindy) to come in and prepare the meal for us that evening. Another nice feature was that most of the neighbors stopped by just to make sure everything was going good for us and to see if there was anything they could do for us. We all felt that the next time we come, we would like to stay longer as there is so much to see and do! Thank you for sharing your place with us!
Thanks Anita! We really enjoyed having you.
Wonderful position. Property needs an update.
The house is situated right on the beach and the deck, shared with a couple of other properties, is perfect. From it the snorkel opportunities are excellent. The situation is quiet and peaceful.
The layout of the rooms is good and each bedroom has its own bathroom. However the rooms are very dated and the central living area rather gloomy. The bathrooms need a serious upgrade. There's far too much in the way of utensils and the drawers are very cluttered. So much is old and needs sorting out. The saucepans are very battered however 2 replacements came the next day for the two not really pleasant to use. The cooker, fridge and outdoor grill were excellent and new.
The property was not particularly clean.
Great restaurants within easy reach particularly The Roatan Oasis.
Thanks Chris! We enjoyed having you. We stayed in the home for the first time December 16th- 21st and we came to the same conclusion regarding potential improvements and as a result started plans for our remodel which was completed a couple of weeks ago!
The remodel included Painting the entire inside, replacing the 3 foot window in the kitchen with an 8 foot window, replacing the 6 foot French doors with a large 12 foot 3 panel slider making the inside much brighter! Moving laundry from the guest cottage to inside the home, replacing the traditional water heater with a tankless water heater, and changing out all of the receptacles and switches for new white Decora receptciles and switches and adding gutters around the perimeter of the home.
We are always looking to improve and open to any suggestions on kitchen supplies that can make our guests stay more comfortable which does lead to an abundance of utinsels etc.
We've had great feedback that the inside is light and bright and that the view of the Caribbean is even more exceptional!
We will be done with a complete remodel of the guest cottage in a few weeks and then we will have new photos to share with you!
Hopefully you can come back to enjoy it again soon!
Wonderful beach house and location!
Cathy was a wonderful host! She was very helpful and answered any questions prior to our vacation. The house was perfect with a great location; not too far from West End, West Bay and Coxen Hole where the best grocery store was. It was nice being away from the big tourist areas and having our own piece of heaven even if it was for only 1 week. The pier out in front made snorkeling a breeze. We swam out to the reef for some great snorkeling. We snorkeled at many different places and kept finding it to be the best heading out to the left from the pier. Sitting out in the evening and watching the sunset was a highlight as well as doing Yoga on the dock in the early morning. The house was well equipped for cooking and we grilled out on the porch several times. Sunnyside is a wonderful place to spend your vacation!
Our Sunnyside Home is located on a quiet beach in Sandy Bay. Snorkel or dive world class reef off our private dock. Experience a Dolphin Encounter at a near by Resort, or Pamper yourself at the near by Spa. We are located half way between the airport and the West End Village where you will find numerous Dive Shops, gift shops, Kayak and paddle board rentals, little restaurants, live music, and Sundowners Bar for sunsets.Try a Canopy Tour (zip line) or drive to Gumbalimba Park to see the Animal Preserve with jump-on-your-shoulders monkeys, and free flying exotic birds. Swim in the parks fresh water pool or enjoy the Cabana's on the beach and water sports. Tour Coxen's Cave or snack at the Gecko Cafe.
