About the property

3 Bed/3 Bath Log Cabin Can Accommodate Up To 8 People.

Ski in/ski out log home on the slopes at Powder Mountain.

This 4 bed/3 bath log cabin can accommodate up to 8 people.

Many guests come to Powder Mountain to get away from the crowds and hustle found at other big resorts and want to immerse themselves in a more pure mountain experience. Being a little more isolated and removed from the conveniences of the city is exactly what makes staying at Powder Mountain a unique experience. Enjoy a true mountain get away where you can leave all the day-to-day stresses behind and focus on enjoying this amazing setting with family and friends. Once settled in many guests never use their cars until it is time to leave. Instead, they spend quality time playing and exploring the vast, uncrowded terrain the mountain has to offer or lounging by the wood burning stove with a good book. Staying in the mountains rather than in town is more relaxing and makes your vacation more of an adventure. A quick trip to the store for some milk may be more challenging than simply going down to the corner store but, all this Mountain solitude is only 90 min. from Salt Lake International Airport and 30 min. from great shopping and restaurants in Ogden and Eden.

After a day on the slopes you can ski or ride right up to the cabin. The garage stores all the snow toys for the evening and you enter the cabin through the locker/game room. The locker room provides guests space to shed jackets, boots, etc. and ensure they are dry and toasty for the next day. This space also doubles as the game room with a foosball table. First floor also has optional efficiency with extra bedroom and full bath. Up the stairs to the main level of the cabin is the living room with huge windows looking out over the valley. This open living space adjoins the kitchen and dining area. A bunk room with three twin size beds, one bedroom with queen bed and large full bathroom are also on the main floor. Up one more flight of stairs is the huge loft/master bedroom with private bath, walk in closet and open ceilings. An additional day bed in the loft can be used for an eighth guest. Yes! we have high speed WiFi thru-out the house. On the main floor is a new high definition smart TV with Netflixs, Hulu, Movie channels and surround sound DVD player.

The private road to the cabin is closed in the winter. Overnight parking is allowed in the Powder Mountain Resort parking areas by permit only. Parking permits are available for up to two cars and are provided upon check-in at no charge. Getting to the cabin from the parking area requires a short walk and can be difficult in poor weather or after a large snowfall. A snowmobile shuttle is provided for guests and their luggage at check-in and check-out. Once at the cabin it is easy to ski/ride down to the lodge/parking/lifts.

In addition: by request, mountain host can provide a custom vacation experience. The level of service is up to you, maybe all you want is an initial orientation on the mountain and a few additional snowmobile shuttles, or have the kitchen stocked with all your favorite groceries upon arrival, or maybe you would like an in cabin chef, a private massage and daycare for the kids. We can take care of all the details for you including coordinating transportation and other activities. For a list of services and pricing or any special requests please contact Mark.

Weekly rentals are strongly encouraged with Saturday check-in/check-out, 7 day rentals are discounted. Please see the rate sheet.

Great spot and nice cabin

  • 4 of 5

My 30yr old + kids loved it. Each pair had their own bedroom as Mom & Dad go the loft. They said that compared to other options, they wouldn't want to change. The ski lockers and room were really nice. Very warm with large lockers for all of your gear. One enters via the garage door via a keypad so no lost keys so everyone can come and go as they please. Excellent WiFi. The kids were able to use our google account to stream movies to the large TV screen without problem. Jen was great is helping us haul our initial supplies to and from the cabin in her snowmobile with trailer. Two big comfy sofas with lots of pillows and a large dinning table for six for playing games. A bathroom in the loft and a bathroom on the main floor shared by the two bedrooms. Plus a bathroom in the in-law apt).

Also, we've never experienced powder and short lines like this before. Unreal. This is the largest ski area in the US. It only has 4 lifts. Even on Saturday, we never saw more than 10 people in front of us in line, normally we just skied onto the chair. On most areas the powder is tracked out in 3 hours. Here figure you can still find untracked powder through the 2nd day. If you still want more, then the cat will take you to more untracked powder. Not steep enough, then the heli will take you for steep and deep.

Just some cautions.

- The home is advertised as 4 bedroom, but the cost does not include the 4th bedroom (more like an in-law apt) off of the garage. I paid extra for it after we got there and found that out (turns out that our 4th group never showed up so we really didn't use it).

- Verison only barely works but ATT and others are good.

- Not fully ski in and ski out. You ski down from the cabin to the parking lot, walk through the parking lot to the ticket booth. On return, walk across the parking lot and up the hill to the cabin (a 5ish minute hike; not bad once acclimatized to the altitude). There is a way to ski down to the cabin from a cat track (not good for snow boarders unless you pay $20 for a cat ride up higher; did that once) but even that requires a bus shuttle unless you are already skiing at the Sundown lift.

- It's a huge area so recommend hiring a guide the first day to show you around.

Awesome house, Amazing location and tons of fun

  • 5 of 5

Amazing location and a really great house. We spend just under two weeks with 3 families and plenty of space for everyone. Great skiing and snowboarding, right out the front door to the slopes and ski right home to the house. Can not wait to get back for another adventure!

Owner's Response: HI Josh, Thanks for the great comments. When I saw your girls last they said they want to go on another ski trip to Utah. Hope you can bring the whole family again this year.

Red Roof at Pow Mow ROCKS!!

  • 5 of 5

Coming all the way from Hawaii, I wanted a cozy place for me and my friends and a resort that was more for powder play than tourist attraction. Oh man! This place was great! Super clean and well kept. Lots of space even when you've got a group that fills all the beds. The indoor stove was a big bonus. I loved the fact that I could board to either of the lifts of the resort straight outta the garage! The way this place is set up, no wet gear up in the living space at all. I'm DEFINITELY GOING AGAIN NEXT YEAR. The resort is still under the radar, so NO LIFT LINES! And night boarding too! I strongly suggest checking out the hot springs located right off the highway before you head up into the canyon.
