Oakridge mountain lodge is located on approximately 20 acres just 6 miles from yamhill, oregon and 17 miles from mcminnville, oregon. Rental space includes the 2nd and 3rd floors which includes all the amenities of a log home in a forested setting with 4 bedrooms, each with their own master bath. The 3rd floor bedrooms each have upper loft beds which will each sleep two children or young adults. There are spectacular views from the
2,000 sq. Ft. wrap around deck. The deck has dining areas and a bar and can accommodate 30 or more people. Also on the deck is a large hot tub that is always ready for use.
The property was purchased in 1997 with only a manufactured home, which is now the home for our daughter and 2 grandsons. We started the log home in 1999 with trees from the property and trees purchased locally. This hand-crafted log home has hardwood floors in the great room, dining room and kitchen. All the bedrooms are carpeted, as well as the loft living room.
The daylight basement is a completed functional apartment unit with outside access where we the homeowners live with our miniature border collie and two outside cats. We have excellent well water. So no one needs to bring bottled water. We hope you enjoy the log home, the views, the quiet seclusion and the forest animals as much as we do!
Ron & Connie Crompton purchased this lodge in 1997
A home this size is perfect for family reunions, wine tasting groups and four or five couples or old friends who like to get together once every year or two. One of the big attractions is sitting out on the wrap-around deck and all you can hear is the forest birds. Very rarely will you even hear a logging truck down below on the main road.
So far all of our reviews have been "5 star." So this one was a surprise. Our web site clearly states that there is no dishwasher in the current kitchen and that will change when the upgrade is completed. The entire house is carpeted except for the great room, dining room and kitchen which will be hardwood. Currently those floors are covered with large area rugs. Plus when we give our guests the welcome tour, we explain this in more detail. None of our guests have had a problem with this.
When the finished floor is done and the kitchen upgrade is completed, this large, rustic log home will be quite elegant, and still a bargain for large groups that desire the quiet seclusion of a forested mountaintop.
Had a great get away with my girlfriends! Had plenty of room and really enjoyed the fireplace. We all appreciated the attention to detail within in the home, to make our stay wonderful. We would definitely come again!
Had a wonderful time wine tasting with family and coming back to a cozy place to enjoy big meals around to huge dining table. Had a wonderful stay! Thank you Ron and Connie for being such gracious hosts!!
What a beautiful and secluded place to relax and unwind after fun-filled days of wine tasting. We had 9 adults for a 4-day weekend in mid-November and the space was perfect. With the cool rainy weather we did not really take advantage of the large deck, hot tub, or fire pit, but the wood burning fire place in the living room and the large dining room table provided ample space for the group to gather for meals, fun and games. And the layout of the bedrooms/bathrooms in the home allowed for some privacy as well. The lofts are in the two upstairs bedrooms and based on the size, are really only ideal for children. We had one (young) adult sleep on the upstairs couch instead - which worked just fine. The place was well stocked with kitchen supplies, games, blankets, pillows, etc... Ron was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants, shops, and wine tours. We will be back!
This place was exactly as it was described and was perfect for several couples visiting the Oregon wine country. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and the two downstairs bedrooms also had access to the wrap around deck. The common areas were comfortable and the house is wonderfully furnished and stocked. We enjoyed the deck and the lovely cool evenings, clean air and peaceful surrounds. Arthur was an added bonus! Most evenings we elected to eat at the house rather than make the drive back into town. It is tucked away from the towns but the drives in weren't bad and the scenery is beautiful.
The Lodge is beautiful and so are the surroundings!! My grandson loved Charlie the mini horse. We felt welcome and attended to but also had the place to ourselves. Comfy beds, linens and towels. Nicely appointed kitchen. This place has it all!
