This home is a 1 bedroom with cal king size bed, 1 full bathroom with a full size futon sofa sleeper for an additional person(s). The size of the interior is approx 300 square feet with a 120 square foot deck located on a huge 10,000 square foot lot. It is quaint and great for travelers that want to dine out or have simple meals at home with use of our kitchenette and outdoor BBQ. We have an outdoor shower to rinse off after a day at the beach and a nice deck to relax on and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you.
As you drive to this Duck Road Hale you will be greeted on the road by several swaying Coconut trees and feel relaxed already. This home is located on a large canal front property that is great for kayaking, bird watching and relaxing under the shade of the large Monkey Pod tree in the back yard.
With Kailua Beach less than 1 mile away you will be enjoying all that it has to offer...walking, swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, beach combing and more.
World famous Lanikai beach is 10 minutes away.
Kailua town is a 5 minute drive away where you will find several amazing places to eat, shop, take yoga classes, farmer's markets, playgrounds, kayak and bike rentals and so much more.
The Kawainui Marsh is just a short walk or drive away. This marsh is a bird sanctuary with stunning views of the Ko'olau Mountain range where you can walk, picnic, feed ducks, watch the sunset over the mountains and enjoy native plants.

Thank you very much for a really nice week we had in Kailua! Your home is a wonderful, very charming place and we really felt like "home"! Luk was so excited about the ducks and loved to collect all kinds of "woods" in your beautiful garden! Thank you very much finding the cars for Luc, that was great for him! We are a little bit sad to leave tomorrow but hope we will come again.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Duck Road Hale. The accommodations were very comfortable and quiet. Location is great for 20-25 minute access to historical and other exciting tourist attractions. Quick access to great food and shopping in Kailua. Enjoyed wine and conversation several evenings with the owner next store. Will definitely stay again on my next trip to O'ahu.

Clean, cozy private place attached to the main house on a quite street in Kailua. Nice beaches near by and great breakfast spots (esp Mokes). The owner was easy to get a hold of and provided great suggestions on beaches and restaurants. There is a Target and many other shops near by in case you forgot any items. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I made a trip to Hawaii for a 10 day visit in April of 2016. We loved this little place on the canal. The accommodations were very clean and cozy. The master bedroom was a very nice size with access to a covered deck in which we spent a lot of time reading and watching (and feeding) the ducks. There was also a table and chairs in the back yard which was nice to feel the Hawaiian breeze. It had a futon at the front of the house in which our son stayed for a few nights. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and would definitely come back. There was some traffic noise during the weekend but are still giving it a 5 star because it was so accommodating.
Great place to stay in quiet Kailua and very conveniently located. Easy to get to Honolulu if you have to. I have always heard Kailua is very nice, and it is. The cottage is very cute and nicely decorated with a comfy bed and nice bathroom. The lanai (back porch) is very nice for eating. Katy the manager was very responsive via texting or email if we had questions or problems. She brought over new batteries for the TV remote. There is an outdoor shower, very useful after the beach. A clothesline would be a nice addition. Kitchenette and mini-frig are tiny but has everything most people would need on vacation. You should know that if you run out of supplies like TP you are expected to get your own. I found the ducks kind of aggressive and not that charming. And a bad smell developed in the backyard towards the end of our stay making the lanai not so inviting. But it is the tropics. What can you do? We felt lucky to stay in such a quiet, homey residential neighborhood and the location on the canal is beautiful. I would definitely stay there again.
This property is conveniently located to major roads, downtown Kailua and still gives the opportunity for an amazing view and the feel that the tourists have been left behind . The house is well equipped and comfy for 2. Katie is available for any questions and concerns.
If cooking at home is what someone is looking for it would be inconvenient. But for those of us that planned on eating out at nights and then reheating left overs it was just fine. There is room in the refrigerator for all the needs for breakfast. Having the table on the lanai and then also the table further out in the back yard gave us on opportunities to unwind after busy days and also kick start the new day with beautiful views. The king size bed was VERY comfortable!
We enjoyed are stay very much. My daughter loved her new home and new car that we rented.(more the home than the car) even though it was just 5 days/nights. The location is perfect. Any where you need to go is right at your finger tips. We were there mainly to see as much as we can and enjoy paradise. Very comfortable and quiet . Your surrounded by locals who live there, not around a bunch of noisy tourists. A beautiful home in a beautiful location-Kaliua, Oahu.
This home is located on a beautiful Waterfront property on a canal close to both Kailua town and beautiful Kailua Beach (less than 5 minutes away). Kaneohe town is a 5 minute drive away and Honolulu International Airport is just 20 minutes away.
