This is my 2nd time staying at the Pond House and it was just as nice as before. The home is outfitted with everything you might need for cooking and the layout of the house is ideal for sharing space. My group of artists loved the fact they could literally step out the door and begin painting each day! The staff is very courteous and helpful with any questions before, during or after the stay!
The home is within a few minutes of Sisters or Bend although it is quiet and off the main road.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful location!
My husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at the Pond House. We loved it. The view of snow covered mountains, the incredibly beautiful sunrise and sunset were only a few of the reasons. Silence was imperative for me. We live in Los Angeles where cars, sound and lights are just part of being in the city. It was so tranquil, the air was clean and refreshing, the house itself is stunning as well as completely accommodating to guests. Maddie left printouts of places that we might enjoy visiting and in every way made our stay wonderful. My husband and I highly suggest that if you want comfort, beauty, tranquility, plus all of the amenities of a first class place then book your next stay in Bend at the Pond House.
Had a wonderful time at the Pond house with my wife and two kids (ages 9 and 6). We like staying in a place a bit off the beaten path and the location was perfect. Short drive to Bend, Sisters and all the surrounding forest areas. The house was roomy and comfortable. The fires that were in the area inhibited the views somewhat but on the few days where the sky was blue the view of the Three Sisters from the deck was incredible. Loved the stars at night as well.
What made the trip for the kids were the animals. Every day (sometimes multiple times during the day) we went down to greet and feed the goats, the pigs, the horses and the donkeys. Everyone on the ranch (including Maddie who dealt with all the pre-arrival arrangements) was pleasant and hopefully we didn't get in the way too much. The ranch dogs were also part of the charm, Buddha (sp?) used to jump in out pond near the end of the day which also was a show for the kids. They absolutely loved the place as did we. Hopefully can come back someday.
The Pond House was perfect for a large group, baby and our 2 labs. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very responsive, helpful and organized. They had it all planned out and I never had to ask for clarification.
We enjoyed kayaking in the pond and our dogs loved swimming in it too.
The location is convenient if you want go to Bend or Sisters!
We definitely will come back!
We did a 4 day stay with our son, his wife and two young children. Our mission was to attend a friend's wedding, and explore a bit of Oregon. From the pictures on the web site, we knew it had a nice view, and the accommodations were crisp and roomy. When we saw everything in person, it was all even better.
The rooms are spacious and clean, and the view is amazing. The view of Three Sisters (and Mt. Bachelor) is spectacular and mesmerizing. The pond is serene. It was a perfect base camp for day excursions. We got very welcoming and useful information from Maddie. She printed out items of interest and maps for us, and touched base regularly to make sure we were having a great time. It was like having our own personal tour guide.
The kids (ages 3 & 6) loved the sights and sounds, the space to play, and having "quality time with the horse and donkeys.
We are already talking about coming back.
The Pond House was a great location for our family reunion. It provided enough space and accessibility for our family, including one member in a wheelchair. The views were great from the patio and the house was close enough to Bend activities that the location worked well too. Everyone working at the ranch was so friendly - showing the kids the animals and even showing a nephew how to fly fish. Thanks to all of you for your nice, friendly rental home!
Bright Mountain Ranch is located in farm and ranch country, about 3.5 miles northwest of Tumalo, on the way to the small town of Sisters. We're just 11 miles from downtown Bend.
