About Rex Cook
We currently live in California, and always look forward to spending time here in Oro Valley. We enjoy being active in such a beautiful environment; can't get enough of the warm evenings, monsoon lightning, birds, lizards, and quiet! We have loved Arizona since we met here 30 years ago (one Californian and one Missourian). Now, with family in Tucson, this is our home away from home.
Rex Cook purchased this House in 2013
Why Rex Cook chose Rancho Vistoso
We love the location here close to our family, close to the Catalinas (for her) and to golf (for him). Our neighbors here are so friendly!
What makes this House unique
The view from the back yard and the open space behind the house are what we love about it.

Iris & Monty’s happy place!
My husband and I spent a lovely three weeks staying at this great location! This is the 5th year we have stayed here and we refer to it as our happy place. Love the back yard with the mountain view and pool where we spend much time just relaxing. The house is comfortable and homey with everything you may need for your stay. Thank you again Rex and Nikki for sharing your vacation home with us!! Looking forward to next year.
Good, but could be great
I would give the house itself 3 stars. It's furnishings are comfortable, but spare. If you like to cook, you may be challenged. While the basics are there, future guests could benefit from additional glasses and dishes. We found only two wine glasses. We had to run the dishwasher every couple of days (not full) simply because we ran out of plates or bowls. Also, the owners personal belongings are apparent. Hats on the hat rack, items in the medicine chest, etc. I think most guests would prefer the owners personal belongings to be consolidated in an owners closet or some such. That said, we enjoyed our stay. Outdoor space is nice with great views of the Catalinas as pictured. We also enjoyed fresh citrus - oranges, grapefruit and lemons from the trees in the side yard. Privacy is good, as no neighbors behind. Being able to walk on the golf course cart paths after 5:00pm was great! Saw coyotes, bobcats, javelina, mule deer, quail and more on evening walks. If you prefer desert walks, you can access a ridge trail at the end of East Coreopsis Way just a few blocks away. The location is just a short drive away from grocery and other services. Also, Steam Pump Ranch Farmers Market is just down Oracle a short way.
Love to come again to Rancho Vistoso.
My husband and I enjoyed this beautiful home and backyard. Beautiful views and great location!
Hope that you do come again; we are so glad you had a nice visit.
Clean and comfy
Great location for golfers. Spacious and very clean home. Quiet and relaxing.
We're glad you enjoyed your stay Patti and hope you come back to Oro Valley.
Loved, loved, loved staying here! The house is lovely, the views stunning, and it is close to everything! Will definitely stay here on the next trip if it is available.
Hi Gillie, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you come out to Tucson again.
A Quiet Retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. We agree with Rex that the chief selling points are the quiet and view of the mountains. It's amazingly quiet for being so close to the "main drag." We also enjoyed the multitude of birds and the nightly coyote calls. The low-light rules of the Sun City community really pay off for star gazing. As a lap swimmer being just a few miles from the amazing Oro Valley Aquatics Center was an added bonus. And do not miss the drive up Mt. Lemmon which is incredible. Thanks for sharing your great home!
Happy you enjoyed your stay. And, yes, for the serious swimmer that Aquatics Center is fantastic. Hope you come back again.
