Alwsys better than last time!
This is our 4th trip to this cabin! Loved it more each time... we got to meet Donna this time and what a delight she is! We will be back again!!
The cabin is lovely, peaceful and quiet. The kitchen is dirty and disorganized with dull knives and worn out pots and teakettle. The pressure in the back bathroom shower is pretty low. The bedrooms are lovely as is the front room and front bathroom-this shower is great. Donna seems a bit hard to deal with and defensive if you find anything wrong. Unfortunately and completely beyond her control, the glass table on the deck shattered under the weight of snow prior to our arrival. She called us the morning of our arrival to let us know and to check to see if we had small children. We do have a dog who fortunately did not cut his paws. We arrived to find a heap of broken glass surrounded by melting snow with 2 small safety flags stuck in the snow. No apology. Not exactly the view off the deck one might hope for. I understand that unexpected things happen. I don't understand why the glass was not removed. I do not understand Donna's subsequent behavior. At check out I texted Donna to thank her for our stay in her lovely cabin and mentioned that it was just a shame we could not use the deck ,but also to let her know there was some glass on the front steps that we tried to clear away, but wanted the cleaners and next guests to be careful. She responded that she didn't know how we could have enjoyed the deck anyway with so much snow and went on to say that there was no way there could be glass on the front steps and that she had pictures. Wow. We have pictures too Donna. It was warm during our stay and a lot the snow on the deck melted. We might have enjoyed the deck if there hadn't been a heap of broken glass on it. A nicer response might have been "Sorry?" or "Thank you for sweeping up the additional glass and letting me know." I fully expect another defensive response from Donna to this review as this is how she responded to another guest who had some concerns. I wish I had paid more attention to that before booking this otherwise lovely place.
Great Shaver Get-Away!
We have stayed at a number of cabins at Shaver Lake. I loved how unique this cabin was. We took the kids during spring break so they could enjoy the snow and they had a blast. There were so many great areas around the cabin to go sledding. It was a quick trip into town for dinner or supplies but the cabin was equipped to do all your cooking there if you prefer. Donna the owner was super easy to work with and I was pleased with the quick communication. We will definitely be staying again!!
Cozy well maintained cabin
Cabin was a good size for 4 people, had everything youd possibly need for your stay. Donna was very accommodating and very nice. Glass patio table was broken due to all the snow that packed on to it and snow packed up almost 2 feet on the whole patio so we werent able to sit out (even though it was cold, snowing) and enjoy it. Other than not being able to use that part of the cabin we had a great time. Would definitely visit and rent this cabin again.
Wonderful trip in a beautiful cabin!!
Had an amazing time and experience for my Birthday weekend trip! The cabin was beautiful and appeared to be updated and remodeled. The location was amazing and beautiful with all the snow! I appreciated the cabin was pet friendly and allowed me to bring my dogs. We will definitely be coming back again in the near future! Thank you so much Donna for opening up your beautiful home to us!
Just minutes away from Shaver Lake Village, this cabin is tucked away amongst beautiful pine trees. The deck is very large and perfect for a BBQ with family and friends, or just relaxing after a day water skiing, boating, jet skiing, hiking, etc., or just reading a good book. Just a two minute walk from the cabin is a large pond where it is not uncommon to see wildlife and fowl. Oh, and don't be surprised wither sitting on the deck or just looking out the window you see deer wandering by or a host of other wildlife.
