About the property

One bedroom, one bathroom just a few minutes walk to restaurants and Green Lake.

This Green Lake Cottage is one of Seattle's most popular neighborhoods; close to Downtown Seattle just off I-5. It is also close to Hwy 99, University of Washington, Wallingford district, and walking distance to Green Lake and all it has to offer. This one bedroom side duplex is in the 'Tangle Town' hub of Green Lake. Bakeries, Internet Café, restaurants, and a neighborhood market are just a block away, although the cottage is located on a quiet residential street.

The Seattle Zoo, theaters, shopping, Fremont (the center of the universe) are all minutes away. This location couldn't be better! Enjoy swimming, walking and biking, and a bus stop to Downtown is just 1/2 block away.

There is one bedroom with a queen bed and a full size hide-a-bed sofa in the living room. The bathroom has recently been remodeled and there are fir floors in the kitchen and bedroom. The place is darling...a great get away.

You will be greeted with a Home Book showing activities, maps and brochures to make your stay more enjoyable.

Location is what it's all about!

  • 4 of 5

My hubby and I were so pleased with our choice to stay at Nancy's cottage (during our week stay in Seattle).

The details provided by Nancy made it super easy to access this rental.

It's an older cottage, nothing fancy but very clean.

As advertised, well appointed with your basics. "Organic" is the buzz word for this place.

The location worked out nicely for us. We chose not to rent a car, instead opting for local transit and Uber. The #62 bus, which stops 200 yards away, goes directly to the City Center where many tourist attractions are located.

The pros for us were: location (proximity to town and super cute neighborhoods) clean, and affordable.

The cons included: uncomfortable couch ( after a hard day walking and sightseeing - not a comfortable seating area to unwind in) and the bed (while very comfortable - linens and pillows) squeaks terribly when getting in and out of it.

If it had a more comfy couch and bed that didn't squeak, I would have given it 5 stars!

Overall, extremely happy with our stay.

Functional Home

  • 4 of 5

The house is completely functional and affordable, however there were a few things that were missing for me to give this home five stars. The parking space was convenient but very tight to share with the other renter; still manageable though. Opening the door, I noticed a strong musty odor to the house. The comforter in the living room closet was also musty smelling. Sofa bed mattress dipped in the middle. Floors were very creaky (older home). Shower was small and showerhead needed descaling. Pots and pans were different - some were made of glass, one pot was broken. My family and I did manage through our two night stay, but would have had a greater experience if things in the home were more modern or updated.

Awesome Location

  • 4 of 5

Cute and comfortable. Had all the necessities and for the price was a bargain. Lots of little extras so don't go shopping until you check out the cupboards. Everything you need for cleaning plus soaps, shampoos etc.... AND everything was organic. The kitchen cupboard was stocked with basic spices, sugar, coffee filters etc... She even had vinegar and oil. Grocery store is about a 10 minute drive (not on highway) and they have everything you could imagine in a fairly small unit. Lots of Fresh Fish, Meats, and locally grown produce. They even sold liquor, beer, and wine. Just a short distance to downtown and I-5. We rented a vehicle for day trips, but used Uber for local destinations. Most trips cost us under $20, far cheaper than parking and eliminated driving to downtown. This location is excellent for walking to dinners just down the street. Greenlake is just a 15 minute walk away, also close to Ballard.

My only negatives aside from the unexpected heat wave, (they don't have AC in most of Seattle), were the lack of mirrors. Only one small mirror over bathroom sink. Never knew how I looked. The information sheet included a blow dryer but it had a bad plug that you had to jiggle to use, so make sure to bring your own...

Great Neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the neighborhood. We could do our daily 3-mile run around Green Lake - only about four blocks away. We could walk just down to the corner of our block to the coffee shop, donut shop, convenience store, Elysian's Tangletown pub and restaurant and other restaurants. It's a great walking neighborhood. And because the area is so popular, having our own off-street parking was great. Our host left us all kinds of great suggestions about what to see in the city and the area. We visited the locks and the fish ladder, Discovery Park, the arboretum, and Kerry Park. We went down to the Pike Place Market, but there were so many people there it was just overwhelming. We found several great restaurants including Ballard Annex Oyster House in Ballard and Pecado Bueno in Fremont. We also drove out to Mount Ranier for the day and enjoyed the hiking and we took lots and lots of photos. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and perfect for the two of us and we enjoyed the little front deck. There is a real Mr. Coffee-type coffee-maker in the kitchen. This building is a tri-plex and the host lives off-site. Lots of privacy and convenience here.

Lovely Cottage meets all our needs!

  • 5 of 5

This charming little property is so well set up for visitors! We had everything we could need in terms of kitchen supplies and other amenities. Wonderful to have off-street parking and the location can't be beat - walk to Green Lake, corner store, restaurants, easy access to I-5 and 99 to reach other destinations. Quiet, comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again.
