Area Information: Gallery Place is located in Northwest Washington, with entrances at 7th and F, 7th and H, and 9th and G Streets. The station's only street elevator is north of F Street on the west side of 7th Street.
The station, which is beneath the Verizon Center, serves that arena and the surrounding Chinatown and Penn Quarter neighborhoods in downtown Washington. The station is located very close to Metro Center, such that the lights of one are visible down the tunnel from the other.
Gallery Place combines business, shopping, dining, entertainment and condominiums all under one roof within walking distance to many of Washington, DC’s cultural attractions. It was a very nice, clean place with a great location near the metro. It was easy to find as well.
We had a great stay in D.C. at this unit. The place was very nice and accommodated us very well. What I found most impressive was how helpful and responsive they were to any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend it to others.
My family of 4 had high hopes for this apartment, given its terrific location near the Convention Center, the Verizon Center, many restaurants, shops, museums and sites. Unfortunately, we only lasted 1 night due to:
1. Noises and banging from the upstairs unit (this is nearly windowless basement unit) that kept us up until well after midnight.
2. A large cockroach ran across the floor from the kitchen to the laundry room. Given that the China Boy restaurant shares a wall with the unit, the size of the infestation could have been sizable.
3. The building on the other side was either under construction or abandoned, and appeared to have homeless people living in it, which may have explained the urine smell at the entrance to this apartment.
4. The property manager, Jim Moore, proved very difficult to reach, sometimes responding immediately, but as often not answering our calls or texts.
I am giving the property two stars, rather than one, because our rental payment was immediately refunded in full, and we were told that the unit would be fumigated before being re-rented. Nevertheless, I cannot recommend this unit.
To our past Valued Guest and well as our future Guests. It was a true displeasure for me to find out we let you down and you encountered some issues during your visit. This is very unlike the normal feedback we receive from our past guests. Please understand we took your feedback very seriously and have looked into and corrected any necessary fixes as well as we have reinforced the importance as to our day to day operations in communication with our guests. We will always refund our unhappy guests and will go as far as to cover any additional charges you may encounter, if relocation is necessary. Again, I apologize for your unpleasant experience and we look forward to serving our future guests with the highest level of accommodations and service.
Lovely apartment and a great location
I booked this on behalf of my Director and colleagues who were attending a conferences near by. They loved the apartment and said it was fantastic location. The owners made the process of booking and sorting out arrangement extremely easy and stress free. Would recommend this property and would book again next year.
Fantastic Place & Location
This property had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The kitchen and sleeping quarters were excellent. We felt like we were at home.
The property is in a great location. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area and the Convention and Verizon Centers are within walking distance. The parking spot in the rear accommodated our passenger van and the spot was always available. We really enjoyed this property and have booked it again for next year.
We had a girls' getaway here and loved it! We had 8 girls (2 per room and 2 on the foldout couch). Such a great location... Especially for the price.
We stayed in this property for 7 days and enjoyed it's proximity to everything. The property management was highly accommodating and responsive. The free parking in the back of the property would have been handy one night when we had family over but the restaurant owner next door had his car parked there. We called the property management to let them know someone was in the space and they said the would call and have the car moved, which he did. Unfortunately to owner didn't move his car in a timely manner and we ended up parking in the alley with no problem. If you need the parking make the property manager aware so that he can make sure the restaurant owner moves his car. Also, be aware, there is a young couple that lives above with no carpeting and a liking for wearing hard soled shoes.... very loud!
