Centrally located to 3 highways, a short walk to the metro, and close to the newly renovated many parks and Riverfront boardwalk, the new Safeway grocery store, Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge, the Anacostia Bike Trail, Central Park Ice Skating Rink, and of course Five Guys Burgers and Pot Belly!!
As you enter the 24 hour concierge-staffed building, the clean, modern lobby beckons you to want more. Located on 6th floor, this unit opens into a magahony wood-stained foyer with entryway closet, perfect for placing roller luggage bags, overcoats and other long hanging items. With original art tastefully gracing the walls, the foyer gracefully leads you into the living area. The living room features a Celadon colored sofa with Queen sofa bed, an upholstered club chair that also serves as a recliner, and large mustard colored ottoman that also serves as a place to sit.
To the right of the living room is a West facing all glass wall which runs the expanse of the condo. The 9 foot glass French door leads to a small terrace which overlooks the courtyard. From this terrace one can also enjoy views of the Washington monument, as well as watch the planes land from Ronald Reagan National airport, in the evenings.
The living room has high ceilings and both modern and period finishes, including 47 inch flat screen TV. Comfortable, fashionably chic with a twist!??
The fully stocked, chef-inspired kitchen is open and visible from the living area. In addition to toaster, coffee maker and blender, it boasts stainless steel appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and microwave), Silestone countertops, designer pendant lighting, as well as recessed lighting and contemporary fixtures.
With the business traveler in mind, the unit has built-in surround sound system which allows you to both charge your Ipod or iPhone, as well as listen to music though the centralized speakers. There are also generous outlets, plugs, and usb charging wall outlets for your many handheld needs. There is a wireless printer and of course WIFI for your business and surfing needs. Just plug and go.
The Japanese-influenced bedroom has leather headboard with 600 thread count sheets, down pillows and comforter. There is a 42 inch flat screen TV in the bedroom.
The unit comes complete with full-size washer and dryer, as though very bright, it features solar shades on all windows to ensure a great night sleep.
All of this is complimented by an upscale gym and rooftop pool lounge with stunning views of the Capitol and the Anacostia River.
The location is adjacent to the newly gentrified baseball stadium district, and The Yards entertainment district just blocks away. This is a perfect package of a fantastic location, access to Metro, Shops, Restaurants and a interesting space. Perfect for the person seeking an international DC flair with upscale home-like amenities.

About Bernard Bell
I'm a TV Network executive who travels alot. Originally from NC, I have been living in DC since 2003. I also split my time between my homes in NYC, NC, and Atlanta. But DC is the best city ever!
Bernard Bell purchased this Condo in 2013
Why Bernard Bell chose Southwest Waterfront
I love this neighborhood. All of my homes are in the area, and it has literally become one of the hottest but low key NEIGHBORHOODS. The Stadium has transformed the energy of the area. I love to sit on the terrace with a glass of wine and hear the Baseball Stadium cheers!
What makes this Condo unique
The thrill of being in this neighborhood comes from when I walk out my front door, look to the left, and see the shining dome of the Nation's Capitol building. It is a significant and tangible energy booster, and a reminder of the freedoms that we take for granted in this country.

Excellent location-Very nicely furnished with eclectic artwork!
Convenient parking right in the building. Lovely walk along water only three miles to the Lincoln Memorial. This riverside is landscaped and full if interest including fascinating floating fish markets and plenty of eateries, entertainment venues, and general city buzz. The proprietor took good care of us and checked to see all was going as expected.
The decor is pleasing and the air bed has soft and comfy sheets. The kitchen is quite spacious for a studio apartment. Although this condominium can easily be a five star and is generally clean, I give it four stars due to some grime on the cabinets, stained throw pillows and rugs, annoying closet/kitchen cabinet clutter, and fingerprints on stainless refrigerator/faucets.
Thanks for your detailed review. We have recently switched housekeepers-- but these cleaning issues aren't being addressed by them either. I wouldn't know if you didn't tell me as there are same day check in check out issues. Thanks so much and I encourage my guests to tell me! Appreciate you!
Property is conveniently located and absolutely top notch.
Can't say enough about this property. Set up to be a home away from home. Every convenience considered and provided!
Can't say enough about this property and owner. Thank you for opening your home, we will be back!
Great place to stay.
Easy access to metro! The apartment is nice. The owner provided very detailed information for dinning and sightseeing in DC area. Check in and check out processes are easy. The cleaningness level could be improved though.
Thanks for this feedback! We have switched cleaning crews and would not have known if you had not written a review to alert us. I truly value the VRBO family feedback. Thanks so much.
5 Stars and more !
This is the BEST lodging when in Washington, DC
It is clean, immaculate and furnished so well
All the amenities you could possible need are available.
Ms Cathy and Frank at the concierge desk are so courteous, professional, friendly and willing to go beyond the call of duty to assist.
I love staying in this unit each time I am in DC
The owner is such a professional REAL human being who makes sure the clients are taken care of.
The property was lovely, near the metro, but on the edge of an unsafe neighborhood.
The property was lovely and well decorated. The bed was comfortable. Other tenants of the building were VERY friendly. The deck on the top of the building is gorgeous, including a pool. The apartment could have been cleaner -- missing an owner's eye for cleanliness. Bathroom fan was caked with dust, shower curtain had splotches of black mold (YUCK!), spaghetti sauce dried on the refrigerator door. We also had some difficulty in emailing with the owner. I sent an email which was never responded to. When my husband called two days before we arrived, Bernard was very friendly and helpful. He offered to send us two different documents via email. We never received an email or the documents. When we arrived at the property, they had no record of our arrival and had to call Bernard for confirmation. Bernard called to apologize that he forgot to hit "send" on the email about our stay. We asked if there was anywhere to store our luggage, as we had to check out by 11:00 a.m. but our flight wasn't until 8:30 p.m. He said he would send an email to the concierge. When we went to check out, there was no email from Bernard. They were hesitant to keep our luggage. I received an email sent after we had already checked out.
Thank you for your review. I clearly dropped the ball on your stay this week! And thanks for the update on the cleanliness. As a result we have changed cleaning crews.
Per the neighborhood, it is the new baseball stadium neighborhood—and like many other stadium neighborhoods—is being regentrified. However it is by far one of the safest neighborhoods in the city because the city can not afford to have any negative press on the neighborhood. Too many tourists.
Thanks again for your review.
Southwest Waterfront is bordered by Navy Yard and Capitol Hill Adjacent to Nationals Park and one of the few residential areas in Southwest DC, this neighborhood has been evolving at a rapid pace. Much of the area consists of glass-facaded condominium complexes separated by wide, well-lit pedestrian thoroughfares—many of which lead towards DC's National Mall.
