Rob is a native Texan, and Beth a North Carolinian. We are an artistic family and we are readers. You will find a books inside and a "Free Little Library" outside, along with plenty of art supplies, fabric, and a sewing machine that we share with interested visitors.

Why Beth Taylor chose Boone
Our family has roots in Watauga and Wilkes Counties that are over 100 years old. This home is our second in the neighborhood. In Laurel HIll, we have family who are neighbors and neighbors who have become family. We have raised our children here, and can't imagine our lives without this wonderful retreat. We find it easy to slow our lives down in Laurel Hill. The moment you drive up the mountain, we think you will feel the peace and calm. We love to share our home with visitors looking for a respite or time together.
What makes this House unique
This wonderful home is set among trees facing the mountains. It is a very private home in a safe, wooded, walking, quiet neighborhood. We are positioned at 4800 feet up the mountain. We offer the best of both worlds---plenty of privacy on the street side of house with windows everywhere on the mountain view side. Laurel Hill is a neighborhood with private streets on which only a few cars travel. Silence and pitch black nights allow for plenty of star gazing and night walks. Carefully designed home. It is a house that 'works' super well. When you walk in to the entry hall, you see a beautiful view and feel the warmth and peace. The office off the main hall serves as a sleeping porch or office. Windows on every wall of this room make a wonderful, peaceful, lighted work space.

Comfortable, Clean and "Homey"
My family stayed here because my daughter was graduating from Appalachian State University that weekend and felt very much at home during our stay. The reason we picked this particular place is the proximity to Boone for graduation and hiking. The other reason was because we could bring our dog. The location was ideal and we did two really fun hikes over the weekend as well as ate at some great restaurants. The home was well stocked with everything you could need. The owner Beth checked in to make sure our stay was comfortable which was really nice. We would definitely stay here again!
Lovely place and view, quite cozy
The house was well stocked and the beds are very comfortable. Prepare for a narrow steep driveway. Chains needed in snow and ice.
We spent two nights recently. The house was clean when we arrived. The views from the living room are great and the neighborhood is quiet. Our dogs loved having a fenced in area. We had a group of 4 adults and there was plenty of space. I would recommend this house.
great location, with all the comforts of home
Such a wonderful cozy home in a beautiful neighborhood centrally located to Blowing Rock and Boone. It is obvious that this house is loved and that Beth and her family actually use it as their home away from home. There are wonderful trails nearby for all levels of hikers. Theres one of the best coffee shops/roasters not too far away as well.
The house has everything you could possibly need or want and Beth was a wonderful host offering lots of tips on where to find things. We would absolutely stay again.
Boone Getaway #487112
The property provided the perfect holiday getaway for our family. The owner was available at all times to answer questions and went out of her way to make sure all our needs were met. The home as spacious and provided us will amazing views of the surrounding areas. We did some shopping and skiing while there over Christmas and found the home was centrally located for our activities. The kitchen was fully equipment which made preparing a holiday meal easy. Our children, ages 17, 11, and 9 are my toughest vacation critics and they gave me five stars on choosing this property. We are looking forward to staying in the home again for any upcoming visits.
The views were absolutely amazing and the cozy home helped us to relax as well!!! We were so excited to find a little playset out back for our toddler to play on, along with tubs of toys to keep her entertained for hours! The home had every book you could think of, and a huge collection of board games, cards, and puzzles. We had a small set back with the plumbing in on of the bathrooms, and the owner went above and beyond to make things right. We will definitely be staying here again!!!
