Aloha! We are a small family starting our first business. As of now, this is our only property. We take a tremendous amount of pride in upkeeping our rental to the highest of standards. Because we do our own cleaning, we are able to keep the cleaning fees low. We live in Waikiki as well, so we are always close by to address any issues that may arise. The reviews speak for themselves, you will not be disappointed with your stay!
Looking forward to hosting you! Much Mahalo, Clayton and Eileen
Clayton purchased this apartment in 2013
Read previous reviews so knew what to expect. Location is key, your are steps from the beach and a lot of key buses that will take you out of the city to some great sites. Liked the fact that there was beach gear that you can use and not have to pay rentals for e.g. snorkling gear, body boards and beech mats. Like the fact that this is like a home with things like utensils, salt and pepper, and they provided beer for the guest (sadly to say I am not a beer drinker but still liked the touch). Great views of Diamond head from the 10th floor!!! One thing that stuck out was I had an issue with the door being stuck and not able to get in; the owner Clayton responded very quickly to the issue (was there in 5 minutes) and got me in. Was very impressed by that!
Loved this place! Very convenient to beach, restaurants and bars. Comfy bed & cold A/C which is a rarity in all the Hawaiian Islands!!
If you arrive after front desk closes, you will have to deal with "rude rental cop security Barney Fife" but you can't fix stupid.... Just give him your name and go about your business.
The owner Clayton is very fast to respond if you have a question and is very helpful and nice! Would definitely stay again and recommend this "little Gem on the beach!"
Loved this place. Was a great little hotel room by the beach, couldn't have booked a better location. Close to the beach, grocery store, and many attractions. The owners were responsive and delivered on everything, they were prompt in responding to any questions and returned the security deposit in a timely manner. Things to note: if you're arriving later in the evening, expect a security guard who is rude ando cranky, not the best first experience. Also, parking is additional and the bathroom door is not really a door (for those shy poopers our there). They also have all sorts of beach equipment for you to take, fantastic rental, would go back. Thank you Clayton!
Location - 5/5! We couldn't have asked for a more ideal location in Waikiki. This condo is close to the beach and bus stops. The Safeway is about a 20 min walk up Kapahulu road and there are a ton of restaurants and ABC stores on the block. We really liked that we were at the end of the Waikiki strip, because it felt less busy. We really enjoyed being able to go to the beach for a few hours, pop back up to the condo to make lunch, and then back down to the beach.
Size - 5/5. What you see in the pictures is what you get. We found it to be fine for two people. We did not spend a ton of time in the condo during the day. We did cook almost all our meals there and although you do have to use your counter space wisely, it was very doable and easy.
Bed - 5/5. Very comfortable.
Building - 5/5. The 10th floor balcony has a gorgeous view to the beach and into the Zoo, where you can see the flamingoes. The building is clean and pretty quiet.
Check In - 5/5. The check in process was easy. I simply told the front desk that I was checking into Unit 517 and they gave me an envelope with the keys inside. We used the hotel phone to call Clayton to let him know we'd arrived.
Owners - 5/5. Clayton was extremely responsive and timely with my emailed questions. I really appreciate this!
Cleanliness - 3/5. The bathroom, towels and linens were clean. We were slightly disappointed to find a hefty layer of dust on every surface in the condo. It diminished our initial impression of the condo. I took 20 minutes and wiped down the bed side tables, kitchen counter, coffee maker, window sills, top of fridge/microwave and kitchen cupboards (inside and out). We wore our flip flops on the floor, which could have used a good sweeping under all the furniture. Once I had it cleaned up, we enjoyed it. If the owners want to make their condo exceptional, I would recommend doing a thorough wipe down/dusting of all surfaces and corners between every guest. No one likes to walk into someone else's grime.
All in all, we were happy with our rental. It was reasonably priced, in a prime location and the owners were great to deal with.
I rented this property for my anniversary, and I was pleased the moment I walked in the door. The studio has everything you could need for a week and the hotel it is located in has a tasty burger joint, a bar with strong drinks, a nice sundeck and a pool. The landlord was also very laid back and very nice, would definitely rent again.
The check in process was terrible. The front desk staff were not very helpful. I sat at the front to check in for over 25 min. Because they stepped away for a min. One of the other residents felt bad for me and went to find the young man working. Once he came down he said, "oh you should have run upstairs to get me , I was working on something else". How would I know that? Then I asked about other parking options in the area and he didn't give any advice except pay $17 a day for a space.
The neighbors who have a dog were fairly noisy.
The room rental itself is indeed small but fit my husband and my needs for a few nights.
Clayton was great to work with, just wish the complex itself had better management and workers.
