About Tammy Meeske

We are Colorado natives who work hard and play hard. Cowboy Cabin provides an opportunity for our family to participate in the local mountain rodeos and to also enjoy the great out doors of Colorado.

Tammy Meeske purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Tammy Meeske chose Grand Lake

We looked at 15 properties to purchase. This was #15 and it was love at first sight for us. Our three kids love love love the upstairs loft. It's their place! The cabin has this wonderful bonus room, like a family room. This room has a fire place, extra dinning table, couch and a wet bar. So there is plenty of room for families to spread out. In a matter of minutes we can be on a trail for a hike, in the river or at the lake fishing.

What makes this cabin unique

Cowboy Cabin is a well loved mountain cabin. It is loaded with a lot of extras that we want to share with you. There are well worn cowboy hats, cowboy boots, fishing vests and hats that will delight any kid. As a family we fish, hike, hunt, play bingo in the park, and enjoy nights out at the local theater. We do it all and we will share our experience's with you so that you can have the very best vacation experience too! Short hikes, 11 mile hikes, fly fishing gold medal waters or putsky fishing, we can give you wonderful insight! We like to cook when we are at cowboy cabin! The kitchen is fully stocked with, olive oil, spices, kitchen aid mixer, etc., please help yourself to whatever you need. If you like beer you will love the Grand Lake Brewery!

We love this Grand Lake cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Spacious, clean, comfortable, equipped.... But, the best parts are the views and location. We visited in September and the weather was fantastic. Aspen leaves viewed from the cabin were brilliant. Deer visited the yard. Our stay was quiet (few cars on the road nearby, and noticed just one cabin with guests). We didn't stay home much. Rocky Mountain National Park is minutes away. We saw moose, elk, and deer in the park. Go shopping and dine out. (Not a lot of dining options in September, but, you have a kitchen to prepare your own meals.). All around great! Not fancy or upscale if that is what you are looking for, but, great! Oh yeah, good internet service.

Cowboy Cabin

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very spacious and clean. Its a really comfortable place to stay. Tammy was very helpful with leaving out coats for us for the chilly evenings and maps showing things to do locally. Our only disappointment was the noisy road directly adjacent to the cabin. We wanted an escape from normal life and unfortunately with the noisy road and other cabins in very close proximity, it wasn't ideal for us.

Cowboy Cabin Girls Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Perfect Place & Size. Had more than everything we needed for our stay. Location was close to everything, and the fact that we were allowed to bring our loved dogs made the trip even that much better.

Thanks Tammy!

Great Location, Wonderful Setting and Views

  • 5 of 5

This is such a lovely home, with the feeling of a family lake cabin. The view of Shadow Mountain Lake and surrounding mountains is spectacular. We enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the views and watching various wildlife around the cabin. The interior of the cabin is clean and comfortable, so nicely decorated. I would recommend this home for families for either an extended stay or a long weekend. Grand Lake is a quick drive away and such a lovely town. Lake Granby as well as the town of Granby are a short drive the other direction. We were here in the summer, but if you're arriving during ski season you won't have far to travel to the slopes. You are equally as close to the west entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin owners are extremely helpful and quick to respond to questions via e-mail. We hope to have the opportunity to stay here again.

Great view and location

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a get away and loved the beautiful view. We could sit and have morning coffee overlooking the lake and even went out at midnight to lay on the deck to view a beautiful view of the stars. It was close to Rocky Mountain National Park where we could go hiking and saw several Moose and Elk. Tammy was very helpful! Great stay.
