Nestled among the evergreens in the beautiful Mt. Hood National Forest, this lovely two-bedroom lodge with loft offers modern living spaces, an expansive wraparound deck, and a wonderful location to explore the Mt. Hood National Forest at any time of year!
Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood more than two miles from Highway 26, you can enjoy plenty of peace and quiet in the forest. The Sandy River passes through the area! In the wintertime, skiing and snowboarding await just ten miles up the highway at SkiBowl, with Timberline and Mt. Hood Meadows just a little further on.
During the summer months you are invited to enjoy our community outdoor pool/tennis court/basketball court, located less than a mile from the lodge.
The living area features tall windows overlooking the surrounding pine trees, with custom hardwoods and unique design lending the space an airy, open feel. Cushioned benches line the windows for afternoon reading, and a 50' flat-screen cable TV sits before the cherry red sofa for movie nights. Enjoy streaming Netflix, cable or watch a dvd on our Blu-ray player. Enjoy great sound from the blue tooth sound bar that easily connects to any smart phone.
The home has a modern kitchen with all the dinnerware and cooking utensils you might need to prepare meals, along with a dishwasher for easy clean-up. There's seating for six at the glass-topped dining table, and a sliding glass door out to the deck allows plenty of fresh air to breeze in during the warmer months. In the winter, there's nothing more romantic than watching the snow fall as you share a home-cooked meal. Also, take advantage of our propane grill on the deck to truly enjoy the tastes of summer.
We have also added for your extra enjoyment of the forest, a 6 person private hot tub, just steps from the sliding door off the master bedroom. wonderful to enjoy during any season, whether relaxing after a day skiing, or enjoying the sounds nature has to offer in the summertime. Before you take a soak in the hot tub, you may also want to enjoy the wood fire pit in the backyard situated right in front of the serene forest, and have some s'mores with the family.
The lower level has a beautifully dressed queen bed with amazing views out into the dense forest. Upstairs, a second bedroom sleeps four with a twin bunk bed and twin daybed with a trundle. 32' flat-screen tv with DVD player and Wii with games provided. This room even has its own small balcony on the upper level, perfect for stargazing on clear nights. The open loft sleeps two more guests on its own comfortable queen bed, allowing up to 10 guests to comfortably share the space. The loft is also beautifully adorned with curtains all the way across the open area. The upper level has a full bath shower/tub combo, and the lower level has a half bath for everyone's convenience.
Working while you're away? Wireless Internet access is provided. We also offer cable along with Netflix access for those who prefer no commercials in their TV viewing! Children, teenagers and adults alike can enjoy the Wii with family friendly games provided. Make sure to visit the garage for a friendly game of foosball or air hockey.
This lodge makes a wonderful getaway and feels quite secluded, but if you don't feel like cooking one night, you'll find a handful of restaurants just two miles away in the little town of ZigZag. Best of all, groceries are within very easy reach at the Thriftway near Welches, less than ten minutes' drive from your door.
With a convenient location and a private, forested surrounding, this cozy family home is the perfect getaway for your next Mt. Hood adventure!
We love sharing our love of the mountain and nature with anyone and everyone we can! Our 4 wonderful children are the joy of our lives and we have been blessed enough to be able to share a bit of this with them. Our hope is to give other families the same experiences we have had over the years.
Craig & Stacy purchased this lodge in 2013
With the secluded wooded area, our kids feel like they are in a modern tree house. We love to take them swimming and on all the trails that are so close near by!
Close to everything! EVERY SEASON! Skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, swimming, fishing! This place is close to it all!
My father in law rented this cabin for us to stay in between Christmas and New Years. Comfortable, great location, hot tub, great media amenities (big tv, Wii, Netflix, etc). He had some issues communicating with the owner (wasn't getting the info she was emailing) and she texted us the wrong address, which caused much confusion as we were arriving in the dark in lots of snow, and she didn't answer the phone as we were trying to find the correct place. Eventually we took a gamble and went up to the only seemingly empty house on the street and started looking for the lock box. Besides the communication breakdown however, it was a nice place to enjoy Mt. Hood and the snow.
Everything we needed for our annual Thanksgiving Fest! It was a blast! Thank you for sharing your cabin!
We were very impressed with the location and cleanliness of the house. Absolute peace and tranquility awaited us. We very much enjoyed our stay. Will defiantly stay here again.
This property served as a near perfect home base for daily hikes around Mt. Hood. Although easy driving distance to Portland and Columbia River Gorge, it was ideally situated near highways, ranger station, food resources (grocery store and great take out restaurants like Wrapitude), equipment shop and trail heads around Mt Hood. Although small, we were able to make home cooked meals readily with a well equipped kitchen. Sleeping accommodations were flexible, comfortable and much appreciated especially after the long hikes. We had no major problems and owners very responsive. Very nice, quiet neighborhood. Lots of technology if so inclined but easy to "unplug" and unwind in the hot tub and beautiful deck. Would highly recommend if you want a comfy get away in the Mt. Hood area.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us for a girls weekend. The property was perfectly tucked away, within close proximity to groceries, coffee shops, restaurants, trails and of course everything the mountain has to offer. The home was well decorated, stocked and very comfortable for our group of 7. The hot tub provided some wonderful soaking time and the fire pit was a great set up for evening chats. The teenagers appreciated the wifi connection, Netflix and cable options as well as the variety of games to play. While staying here we were able to hike the Tamanawa Falls, dine at the Mt. Hood Brewing Company, enjoy coffee and baked goods at the Coffee Brewsters just down the road. Next door to the Coffee Brewsters was a Thriftway for groceries and for stocking the firewood. Check in and departure were so easy thanks to your excellent communications and everything was just as described and pictured. We cannot say enough great things about our experience with this vrbo and look forward to an opportunity to stay again. Thank you Craig and Stacy for providing a lovely mountain getaway.
