Why Chasity chose Gold Country & High Sierra

We are a family of four that recently began visiting Arnold. We have truly fallen in love with the area and were blessed to be able to buy this cabin this year. The private lake and the amazing hiking trails that are practically in our back yard have been an unexpected joy to our family. Don't be surprised if you see a family of deer or a wild turkey wondering through the property. We've seen both in just the last month! This cabin has already been a blessing to our family and we are excited to be able to share it with others.

Comfy cabin of contentment

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a cabin in the woods to help us relax and reflect on the recent passing of a loved one. We wanted something that would allow enough room for shared conversation but also space for quiet reflection. We got more than we could have expected from this lovely cabin. There is an open floor plan with comfy sofas and unobstructed views of the trees and surroundings. The dining area accommodated 6 adults and a tweenager comfortably. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the dishes, pots, pans and utensils you can possibly need. There was plenty of room for three "chefs" to prepare meals and casually hang out without being under foot. The home has two decks and one balcony. This allowed us to enjoy different views of the property, and there is a babbling little brook that borders the property. It was sweet and calming to sit out there in the morning and just listen to the forest come alive.

The accommodations for sleeping were comfortable. The two loft style bedrooms were separated by a staircase and semi-private with openings to allow for light and air movement. The bunkhouse bedroom has large bunk beds that comfortable would accommodate four adults in the lowers and two children in the uppers.

The cabin was perfect.

The only challenge is getting down to the cabin, the steps are steep and worn and many.

We had a wonderful time and will stay again.

Fun weekend away with friends

  • 5 of 5

We had friends visiting from Hawaii and wanted to play in the snow with all of our kids. The house provided just the space we needed. The kids loved playing shuffle board in the basement and having their own space. The house was easy to find - bring a flash light if you arrive late at night for the first few steps if the stairs are wet or covered in snow.

Thank you for opening your home to us

New Year's 2016

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed in this wonderful home to ring in the New Year! The welcoming gift basket with party horns and party hats was a nice personal touch and very thoughtful. We loved the Christmas decorations - it felt like we were at our own home. We really enjoyed the snow around the cabin and even found some small hills to enjoy the sleds. The kids had a snowball fight on the back patio! We went skiing one day at Bear Valley, it was short drive only 45 minutes away. The extra lighting on the driveway and stairs was very helpful to see in the dark. We had 10 people comfortably stay in the cabin. We loved the kitchen and enjoyed family meals each night we stayed. Our kids enjoyed the game room downstairs. Thank you for letting us stay in your home.

Beautiful and Comfortable Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We spent the Labor Day long weekend in this beautiful cabin. It worked out perfectly for our two families - four adults total, and four kids. The bunk bed room was great for the bigger kids (4, 7 and 8), and the other bedrooms upstairs were large enough to fit a pack-n-play for the baby. Though more of a loft feel than private rooms for 2 of the three rooms, it felt fairly private, and the fans in each room were handy for drowning out noise (for baby's nap!). The cabin is close to the lake, and has a fun game room downstairs. Kitchen is well stocked, and everything is set up very comfortably. Architecture in the cabin is beautiful! The owners were great to work with - very prompt and thorough replies. Would have loved to have stayed longer, and would love to rent this place again soon!

Relaxation in the woods

  • 5 of 5

Some of our family, in the area for a wedding, rented this cabin as home base as we visited with other wedding attendees and explored Murphys, Arnold, Big Trees State Park, and Lake Alpine. It was perfect - such a relaxing and comfortable home. We cooked several meals in your well equipped kitchen and also tried some local restaurants in Arnold and Murphys. We loved the trees, peace and quiet, deer in the back yard, fresh air. Thank you for sharing your home with us - if we are ever in the area again we will return!

Weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

I surprised my husband with a weekend getaway to this charming house in Arnold. We brought our two kids, and two best friends and their daughter and a babysitter along and there was plenty of room for us all. The home is nicely furnished and updated. The architecture of the home adds such charm, and the multiple patios on the property were perfect for relaxing in the sun.

We used the kitchen each morning for breakfast and were very happy with a kitchen well stocked with all the tools we needed to make a delicious breakfast.

My kids loved it because there was an armoire full of toys, games, and books in addition to a "fort" in the back yard.

We went to the lake just down the road and enjoyed its rustic charm.

The owners were very friendly when we forgot to return one of the lake passes! We loved this place and can't wait to return!
