About Morgan Brooke

We are a family of four who reside full time in Kirkland, Washington. We both keep very busy working in the Seattle area and raising our two young children.

Morgan Brooke purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Morgan Brooke chose Hyak

The cabin is a great getaway for our family. Although, we enjoy our home in Kirkland, we also enjoy the great outdoors, hiking, and skiing. It is a great place to go to relax and rejuvenate and to get away from the crowds of the city. It is also super close to all the ski-lifts on the mountains, but then at the end of the day it is great to settle in with a movie or just in front of the fire with our family.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin is very nice inside. It is made for anyone, any couple, any family or families who just want to getaway and enjoy the quiet of the great outdoors. Snoqualmie Pass has some great skiing and only 45- 55 minutes from Seattle. The ski lessons for children are the best around.

Relaxing Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin. It was peaceful and just the right size for our family. Beds are comfortable. Love that there is only one tv in the house in the basement so we were more likely to spend quality time together. Shower bath and sauna gave the parents some solid recharging after a long day of skiing. It was also nice to have a side yard for playing in the snow which you cannot find in summit west.

Some things around the house stopped working during our stay such as the hot tub. The owner was very responsive to fix these issues immediately and responded within the hour.

We will definitely stay again.

Beautiful Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this vacation home. A bottle of wine was provided for our enjoyment. The house was clean, kitchen well stocked, and plenty of linens were available for our use. The bed and living room furniture were very comfortable. The sauna and whirlpool tub were great for relaxing sore muscles from hiking. The house is very close to I-90, but away from most of the noise. Beautiful views of nearby mountains are seen from the front windows.

Large, comfortable house in great location with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here during summer to explore the area. The home was perfect for our needs. Lots of space to spread out so the kids had their own space to play and the house was in very good condition. Ideally located near a number of parks, lakes, hikes, the Snoqualmie Tunnel, and the John Wayne Trail. We would definitely stay here again.

Overall Cabin was great and just what we needed.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is in a great locations, fully stocked kitchen and lots of room. The only hiccup was the hot tub wasn't hot when we got there and took overnight and into the next day to heat. Also the bunk room mattresses were quite thin. We would rent again!

Snoqualmie Pass is a beautiful area in any season. There is great hiking and great skiing all around depending on the season.

Our favorite places to visit around the cabin are Snoqualmie Falls, the town of Snoqualmie (great restaurant- The Woodman's Lodge), North Bend (Home of Twin Peaks), Roslyn (little coal mining town), and Suncadia Resort. North Bend has outlet malls for shopping, great hikes on Mt. Si, and many festivals in the summer. Roslyn is a sweet old mining company that has a few great little places like the Roslyn Café that is famous for the show Twin Peaks. Suncadia Resort has a great lodge, two great parks for kids, biking trails in the summer, cross country and tubing park in the winter, and a wonderful winery with great food. Of course in the winter you are just minutes away from the four ski lifts Summit East (Hyak), Summit Central, Summit West, and Alpental. These all have lodges and offer downhill skiing, cross-country, and snowshoe trails. A few minutes away across from Central Summit there is also a huge tubing park. If you want to got for a sledding adventure there is a huge sledding hill down the way from us as well and we have sleds in the garage you are free to use. Right by the sledding hill there is a great cross-country trail. One of our all time favorite spots in any season whether it is a snowshoe adventure or a nice hike is Gold Creek Pond. That is just minutes away as well. There are great views of the Cascade Mountain Range and a perfect loop.
