Great big mud room to store your mountain bikes out of the rain.
We live in Colorado Springs now but are from Nashville, TN
Tracey Sterk purchased this cabin in 2013
We just fell in love with Leadville! There is a Great small town feeling to Leadville and some amazing energy.
The excitement of the remodel has us enjoying our NEW home so much! There are some great hidden treasures inside that add some historic charm to the home
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Decided to rent this house rather than stay at a local hotel. I'm so glad we did! Our family gravitated to the kitchen island often to talk. I was impressed with the updates in the house and cleanliness. I can imagine the gas stove would perform very well in the winter. Plenty of storage for gear in back room. Everything is on one level except one step down into back room. Also, Leadville was impressive to us. Not overly commercialized yet nice stores and restaurants. Best location for mt. Elbert and Massive. Very comfortable and excellent choice.
Tracey the owner's rep was very helpful and accommodating. We didn't spend much time at the cabin because we were out hiking and fishing but it was perfect. It's a short walk to downtown and has great views.
We highly recommend this rental. This house is great! We are a family of four and we thoroughly enjoyed staying in this home. The kitchen was great. There were lots of extra blankets and towels and the rooms are lovely. We loved hanging out in the living room playing games and reading -- it's very cozy. Tracey is super helpful. Our kids love Ski Cooper and love cross country skiing on the mineral belt trail which is so close -- can't wait to be back in Leadville!
Great vacation rental. We were four adults for two nights. Very nice inside and wonderful view! We really enjoyed our stay. Fully equipped kitchen, bedding, towels, washer and dryer. Very easy to make reservations and arrange payment. Tracey was great...heat was on when we arrived late night..and flowers/welcome note on table. Highly recommend!!
Cozy, Comfortable and Convenient. When we look for a rental on VRBO, we look for these three things. While we are away from home we want to make sure that we have all the comforts of home while being away skiing or spending time with friends or family. This cozy home brought us and our 1.5 year old Husky Puppy to Leadville for a great trip of exploring a new place and snowshoeing. While we were not "thrilled" with Ski Cooper, we were sure enjoying being out in the mountains with our dog and returning home to a warm and clean house with everything we needed for along weekend get-a-way. We will be back for sure in the summer to see what the town has to offer when there is not 4 feet of snow on the ground.
We stayed here over the Christmas Holiday. The home offered everything we needed and is so nicely decorated. The views are Great and the location is ideal. We skied Cooper everyday. I would suggest putting dark blinds or curtains in the bedrooms. If your guests are like us we need it dark to sleep and between the street light and the next door neighbors Christmas lights, it was difficult to sleep.
Leadville sits at an elevation of 10,259. There is a lot to do, Try hiking to the top of the highest mountain in Colorado! Head up to the Mineral belt trail for a paved walk or bike, a snow groomed cross country trip or show shoe. The trial is loaded with information of this old mining community. Gold medal fishing on nearby rivers and whitewater rafting. You can snowmobile or 4 wheel right out your front door up to Mosquito Pass.
All outdoor enthusiasts invited!
Downtown is a few blocks away so, enjoy strolling around the old buildings and try to see a show at the Tabor Opera house. Be sure not to miss the largest mining museum. Two blocks away is the Leadville railroad, ride this in the fall for spectacular views with lots of color. Dinner at Quincy's is always great and very affordable. We also enjoy High Mt. Pies, and lots of good Mexican food.
