About Jacquie C. Walker
Hello: I am living in Mexico now but i was in Bucks County, Pennsylvania where I owned and operated an outstanding B & B, the Stone Ridge Farm Country Inn, for 15 years. I decided to retire in Mexico and paint, where I now have a Gallery. I purchased this property because when I saw it I LOVED IT! I has stayed in a place similar when I visited San Miguel a few years ago. I though then, I would like to have a rental place like it if I moved to Mexico. Well, I found it bought it and now I am offering for vacation rentals to this wonderful magical place.

Why Jacquie C. Walker chose Zona Centro
I am an artist and I always wanted to move to a foreign country and live there for an extended time. When I came to San Miguel a few years ago, I knew then that this was the place. I always enjoyed the B & B and mostly because of all the wonderful people who stayed there. So, now I have found this 'gem' of a property here and am offering it to guests for a wonderful stay in one of the most wonderful places in Mexico. I can guarantee you that if you stayed with me before, you will get the same wonderful stay here and if you are new to us, you can count on us to give you a great stay in a great place.
What makes this Apartment unique
These are three casitas in one large property that can be rented as one unit for a large family or four couples. This affords family members and friends to have their own kitchen, eating, and sleeping areas but still 'be together'. The roof top garden is a great place for cocktails and views of the city. The casitas are decorated in a great Mexican style and have Mexican art works and artifacts throughout, including paintings of San Miguel by the artist/owner, Jacque Walker. These casitas can also be rented indiviually or just two casitas. Please call us to discuss these options and for availability at (215) 693-4209 Ask for Jacque'

A charming, spacious apartment in a fabulous location
We enjoyed our monthlong stay in this apartment. It’s in a great location, an easy, flat walk to the Jardin, close to the Biblioteca, the Artisan Market, and Juan’s. It was great to have a washer and dryer available. The bed was really comfortable. Jacquie was responsive to any issues or questions we had. She even came up to sharpen the knives! We appreciated the cleaning service. Only ate breakfast, so didn’t cook hardly at all, but there are lovely dishes from Dolores to eat on.
Great location, clean and comfortable, great host!
What a great find!... easy walking to all the fun stuff in SMA!
Excellent value and service - very convenient location.
This was my first time renting thru VRBO and I was a little apprehensive with having a late arrival time. Jacquie was very reassuring that someone would meet my friend and I at the Casita and sure enough, a very pleasant Esmeralda met us at around 9;45 pm and made sure that we had everything we needed. The 2 bedroom Casita is very spacious, and has all the necessities. We were especially appreciative to have coffee supplies to get us thru the next day or two! The location is perfect, able to walk everywhere and enjoy everything that San Miguel has to offer. Being so close to the Biblioteca is such a plus! cozy cafe and different types of entertainment, all very enjoyable. I would return to the casita for another trip! The only drawback I have to mention is the early morning traffic noise. It's not terrible but I would recommend earplugs for the light sleepers!
I appreciated Jacquie's responses to my questions and good communication prior to the trip. She was reassuring and made me feel comfortable with my first VRBO experience. Thanks Jacquie!
Thanks so much for the very nice review. We are very happy that you enjoyed yourselves and the casita. Esmeralda is a gem! We can not do too much about the street noise as we are an urban location. But it really only affects the front bedroom and not the back one. Our guests all like the great location for getting around the town without a car. Thanks again for staying with us and we look forward to having you back.......Jacquie
Great Vacation Experience
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this 2 bedroom casita located in the historical center of San Miguel de Allende. The location was three blocks from the central plaza allowing us to investigate the entire area on foot. The accommodations of the Casita where spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. We enjoyed the opportunity to go up to the third story rooftop to enjoy a beautiful view of the city at night. This is shared with the two other Casitas but we always seemed to have it for ourselves. We would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to enjoy the beauty of San Miguel de Allende that offers great food, art and culture. We will be back again a look forward to staying in this comfortable two bedroom casita so centrally located. We especially appreciated the communication with Jackie (the owner) prior to our visit.
Convenient, Comfortable and Colorful
We stayed for 9 days in the second floor casita from Christmas Eve until New Year’s Day; it was our first visit to SMA. This location is excellent, especially in a city in which a visitor is well-advised to plan on walking (or taking a taxi) as streets are narrow and parking is as sparse as in San Francisco (really). We planned to walk a lot and we did just that; the casita’s central (but not too central) location made our forays enjoyable and not too strenuous. Some reviewers commented on street noise in the front bedroom and we concur that noise is a relative matter. It being the holidays a few nights the noise level was a factor; other nights were quiet. If you have someone staying in the casita above and they happen to wear high heels or hard-soled shoes, you may need (as we did) to ask your upstairs neighbors to be mindful that the sound gets transmitted easily to the floor below. (They cooperated and the issue disappeared.)
The casita is appointed very nicely and the colorful ambience enhanced our enjoyment of the artistic feast that SMA can be. We cooked often in the evening and the spacious kitchen/dining area worked out nicely. By the way, for groceries we recommend Bonanza which is on Mesones and Via Organica on for leafy greens and vegetables (both are less than a 10 minute walk away though in opposite directions).
Jacquie and her associates responded helpfully to the few minor issues that came up. One gets the sense that she really wants her guests to be happy and comfortable.
The rooftop terrace is shared by the casitas on the second and third floors. Based on the photo in the listing we had looked forward to spending afternoons up there reading and enjoying the view. We did not find that the view corresponds to that shown in the photo and didn’t end up passing much time on the terrace so if that’s a strong draw for you we suggest you inquire about that. (By no means, however, should you let that factor overly influence your choosing this otherwise wonderful little home away from home.)
When you arrive in SMA, pick up a copy of L’Attencion, a bilingual weekly paper in which you can find out what’s happening in SMA. We attended musical events at La Biblioteca (just down the street) and the Peralta Theater (less than 10 minutes walk) and enjoyed them immensely. (We also lucked out at the restaurant Los Milagros – on Reloj on the way to the main square – where during a delicious lunch three young guitarists played th
We stayed for 5 nights, the location is EXCELENT, there was a little sotre just beside the apartment that was very useful to buy groceries. It was a short walk to the main plaza.
Jacquie the owner was quick to answer any doubts and was attentive and kind.
Thank you so much for the kind words. We are always so happy when guests have enjoyed themselves. AND it is a great location as this is a walking town and you are able to walk to everything from our location. Very nice people and we welcome them back anytime.
