About Katherine Veal Dixon

Owners are both retired principals and now live on Lake Santa Fe outside of Gainesville, Florida. We enjoy fishing, boating, traveling, and Gator Games at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Katherine Veal Dixon purchased this house in 1973

Why Katherine Veal Dixon chose Central/Disney/Orlando Area

This is our first home and is located in Sumter County where we both grew up and attended school. This home then became our summer home as our children were growing up and we had summers off from teaching. Now we are able to share our home with visitors and also use it as we visit our families residing in the area.

What makes this house unique

The lake views from the living area make you feel as though you are on a cruise ship! The quiet neighborhood, abundant wildlife, crystal clear pool, and dock for fishing all add to the variety of activities for you while you visit.

Country Paradise with Amazingly Warm Atmosphere

  • 5 of 5

From the moment you walk in the door you feel like you’re at home with the very warm and inviting atmosphere that you are surrounded with. This home provides all the modern needs with updated appliances & well stocked kitchen in an easy, QUIET family oriented, take it easy kind of town. Washer & Dryer also on property adds to the amenities. We had the extreme pleasure of personally meeting the owners who are engrained within the community & very well known. Upon walking through the door the cleanliness and meticulous features of the home are there to also be presented. The Weber charcoal grill in the backyard is also a huge plus. All the bedding in the bedrooms is cozy and up to date & COMFORTABLE. The home is filled with books which with the quiet atmosphere will get a non reader to RELAX & Read! It also comes equipped with a stereo for tapes, CD's and if you feel like it George Jones is there (who we enjoyed on a nightly basis). The views of the lake from the common area are nothing short of breathtaking. Whether it is the daily sunrise or watching an afternoon storm pass through with a great finish of a rainbow it needs to be seen. It will restore your soul. It is filled with views of wildlife from hummingbirds to hourly osprey, hawk & cardinal visits. The pool is also a great plus and the home is preserved & maintained with great care by the owners. The history in regards to Lake Panasoffkee with the family originating from Pana Vista Lodge, is also commemorated throughout the home. Pana Vista, which is just a few miles from the home offers boat rentals, bait and a trip back in time that will not be forgotten. Also the owners are truly just a phone call away! We had the pleasure of staying for almost the entire month of June. Fishing is awesome and the sunset from the middle of the Lake (while on a boat) is priceless. No need to bring anything but food and clothes to enjoy this Central Florida piece of God’s Country. We as a family HIGHLY recommend 1st Baptist Church of Lake Panasoffkee on 470 for Sunday service @ 10:50 am. Pastor Alonso and the church family have never met a stranger and will make you feel right at home. We look forward to spending many more years at this Lake house. The Dixons are spectacular in our eyes and we can’t wait to see them again!
