Pictures speaks a thousand words!!
We stayed for a week at this property over the New Year 2016-2017. Michael was a pleasure to work with leading up to the rental (we made our reservation a good 6 months prior to our arrival due to the time of year we were going to be in the Bahamas) and he arranged for us to get picked up at the airport. CJ, our taxi driver, was wonderful and gave us many tips on places to go and when to go (for example, security at Atlantis leaves at 5 or 6 pm so after that time you can get into the aquarium and Atlantis resort outside for an evening stroll). Taxi ride cost was $35, which was cheaper than our travel book had indicated. We were able to call a day prior to our departure and arrange for a pickup from the unit, which was also very helpful.
The unit was clean and Michael had no issue with us checking in a little early. It really was just a place for us to spend the nights as we were otherwise out at the beach, diving, doing a Rose Island day excursion, exploring Nassau, or walking around in the evening. We felt completely safe and walked everywhere on Paradise Island, even at 2 am when we came back from Atlantis on New Year's (streets are well lit and vehicles are really good about stopping for pedestrians). The complex that the unit is in was not quite maintained, but we really were pleased with the unit that Michael owned. We did encounter some minor issues, like that the blinds in the living room wouldn't close all the way, one of the bedroom windows wouldn't crank open, and the water heater is smaller than the ones we are used to here in the US (we started to just turn off the water while sudsing up to make sure we had enough hot water for the two of us, which worked perfectly fine and we didn't mind doing that). Otherwise all of the appliances worked and had no issues controlling thermostat or getting the TV to work. The unit does have internet.
The unit is in a wonderful location, about a 5 minute walk to the Cabbage Beach public entrance and 5-10 minutes from restaurants, a small grocery store, and the ferry terminal (boats to Nassau leave about every half hour and cost $4/person one way). We enjoyed going to Anthony's since it was more on the affordable end of restaurants and they had a great happy hour every day from 4-6 (2 for 1 drinks and $7 appetizers).
In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. It is a great alternative to the expensive resorts, was clean, and in a fantastic location!
Overall was good except the neighbors tried to tow my car. They thought that it didn't belong
Everything you need in one place. Walking distance to all the main attractions. Easy access. Great Price.
The condo was well taken care of..clean and neat. However, some of the bed pillows were stained and undesirable. others looked brand new.
There was a hot water problem and certain times of day there was little or no hot water. Two people could not shower immediately after each .other.
The pool was a joke. It needed a good cleaning and had no lawn chairs to sunbathe..
The veranda was very nice and had a nice view of the street and surrounding foliage..
The outside building was very unappealing but had beautiful landscaping./
Everything was within a 15 minute walk.........the beach, Atlantis, restaurants and grocery store
The T.V. did not work ,
The instrument used for heat and cool was very hard to figure out. It somehow did not make sense
We had a terrible time trying to turn on the coffee maker...until we figured out that it was not plugged in. haha It worked just fine as did all the appliances.
We had a very nice stay and the living room furniture was v comfy and cozy...Felt very safe in the neighborhood.
We stayed at this unit, March 20 - 24, 2016. The unit is nicely located on Paradise Island and an easy walk to Atlantis and Cabbage beach. That said, as you approach the unit for your very first time, you are most likely going to expect more than what you'll find. You'll pass numerous well kept looking buildings along the road before you get to Paradise Regency. You'll know Paradise Regency when you approach, as it's the first unkept and the trashiest looking building you'll see.
Exiting your transportation from the street, you'll view the buildings garbage bins that most choose to use as a location to place their garbage, not the bin itself.
Entering the outdoor common area, you'll see a pool that might have been maintained last prior to Y2K. There is no need to purchase BBQ supplies, unless of course you are able to pick up the BBQ pieces and somehow get it back together and working.
Entering the unit, you'll notice that it is nicer looking than the complex and the common pool area. Don't let that fool you, the unit is as unkept as the rest of what you've seen. Where shall I start? Upon our entry the unit was still dirty from the last occupants. We did arrive early in the day however, were not made aware that the place would not be clean yet. As well, somewhat our fault, we were not aware that smoking was allowed. As non-smokers the place had a wonderful aroma of an overused and full ashtray.
The bedroom ceiling fan worked, if you can stand the clicking sound coming from it. The cabinet door above the fridge was falling off. The kitchen faucet had a constant drip of water. The coffee table under the TV and one of the bedside tables if bumped into most likely would fall apart like pulling the wrong Jenga tile.
The place has minimum living supplies for anything other than a guest or two. You'll need to wash every dish after using or you'll have nothing.
In fairness, the unit was as plain as what I read for reviews. What it wasn't was well kept and nice. Location was OK. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would suggest spending a bit more and finding a much more desirable spot.
Certainly the most positive part of our stay was Michael the owner. He was great to deal with.
Great location! great location! the condo itself was clean, updated, and quiet. We felt safe and secure throughout our stay-free beach access and a stones throw to Atlantis, Rui, and ferry to Nassau.
Surrounded by restaurants, shops, bars and many more!!
