About Jennifer Greene
We are offering this rental for the first time outside of our family. Our family built this house originally in the early 60's, using materials from our grandmother's home down the hill. It is a great mix of old and new and feels very comfortable.

We had the best vacation ever!
We stayed in the 'bunkhouse' which is the house next door to the Helen House. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home.
It's an incredibly beautiful area with miles of beautiful sandy beaches. I felt like I found a hidden treasure in mid-coast Maine. Swimming in the ocean, floating down the tidal river on rafts, finding sand dollars, running on quiet dirt roads, playing tennis, eating lobsters -- it was absolutely wonderful. The owner was fabulous too. We highly recommend this place, and would love to return.
We rented this house from July 25th-August 1st.We arrived home yesterday. We were very happy with our stay in Smallpoint. The house was just perfect. It was very clean, and it had everything that you could want or need during your stay.I think my favorite part of the house was the master bedroom where you could always hear the surf. The house has a great kitchen and living room which was very cozy.We plan to visit here again in the future!I would recommend this house to anyone.
Helen House, Small Point
Wonderful location! House was extremely clean and comfortable. Kitchen had everything one could wish for. Would definitely return!
If your idea of a perfect Maine vacation includes ocean views, time spent on incomparably stunning and uncrowded beaches, a lovely home-away-from-home and many lobster dinners and fried haddock lunches then you should consider this rental. Exactly as advertised, it has a great kitchen, comfortable living and dining rooms, a large and sunny deck, and lots of privacy, with glimpses of the ocean through the trees. Limited to a maximum of four people, the house has a spacious master bedroom with plenty of closet space and a fine view. The smaller room with two beds was designed, I would guess, for two small to medium sized children or two remarkably tidy adults. We were three adults, so the house was perfectly adequate for our needs. We love the Phippsburg Peninsula and the nearby city of Bath, so found the somewhat remote location (20 minutes or so from a supermarket in Bath) more a plus than a minus especially as the house is five minutes or less from The Lobster House restaurant. The house boasts a landline telephone - handy to have as cel phone coverage can be a bit spotty. The owners are delightful and helpful.
Perfect Maine Getaway
We were so impressed with the cottage rented to us at this site. The owners were extremely responsive and very helpful with my many inquiries. They clearly have put a lot of love into this property, including wild blueberries growing right near the back porch! We were right next door to the property above (owned by the same people) in the "Bunk House" which was plenty spacious, clean and extremely well appointed with anything you might need (cable and internet, washer/dryer, night lights, lobster pot and shell tools, kleenex, coffee maker and coffee, even toys and books for our four year old, etc). There were definitely a lot of mosquitoes which is typical of the area that time of year, but they thoughtfully provide bug spray and sun screen right at the cabin. And the beach down the road (5 minute walk) is just amazing with a tidal river, a beautiful ocean expanse and views of islands and a lighthouse. Both the house and the beach are very private and quiet and I love how you can listen to the ocean from the cottage. Beautiful Popham beach is walkable from the cottage during low tide, but it is also just a quick drive up the road. We were tickled to buy fresh lobsters a few minutes away to bring them home and cook them for dinner. We also did great daytrips to Bath (20 minutes), Boothbay Harbor (45 minutes) and Portland (1 hour). We had a wonderful week. Thank you!
Forget Popham Beach - Small Point has everything you need!
Our 3 person family are yearly summer visitors to midcoast and have stayed previously in West Bath, Harpswell, and Bath. Our 4 year old loves the beach and we spent last summer visiting Popham Beach more times than I'd expected to. Consequently, our goal this year was to find a rental with Popham-like beach access (comfortable sand, a sand bar so at low tide we could play easily/
safely in the water, beautiful views). I will fully admit that I was a skeptic going into any "beach" rental in midcoast, knowing full well that sandy, accessible beaches are at a premium in Maine. I am happy to report that this rental and its amenities exceeded my expectations for a "beach" rental; I am a convert!
First off, beach access is truly only a five minute walk from the home. Yes, the mosquitoes were out in full force and we did have to spray ourselves before departing the house and before returning (and at night on the porch), but it was a relatively small/expected price to pay for beach access. The beach itself is clean, sandy, comfortable, and at both high and low tides provided plenty of activities for all of us. My daughter enjoyed exploring tidal pools and building castles, my wife enjoyed relaxing and I enjoyed birding (plovers, terns, pipers and warblers were out every day). Small Point beach was definitely as comfortable and beautiful as Popham. What's more, the beach was basically deserted most of the day. Quick note for those who have dog-phobic children - there were a lot of off leash dogs (all friendly) coming and going through our time here.
The house itself was exceptional as well. Clean, spacious, well maintained and updated enough to meet all of our needs. We made almost every meal in and it was very nice to have a gas oven to work with. Bathrooms were clean & comfortable. Washer & dryer really helped keep us in clean duds for the week. Wireless internet was good; we could stream Netflix and HBO GO with our mobile devices without any problems. The TV in the home is very small; if you have a child who craves her screen time like ours, be sure to bring a tablet/laptop. The small bedroom worked perfectly for our daughter. The master bedroom was as advertised; we fell asleep to the waves and salt air and woke up to a view of the ocean!
Any negatives? As mentioned previously, the mosquitoes, and it was a bit of a haul to Bath/Rte. 1 (20 minutes to Bath proper), but this home proved to be the answer to all of our needs/dreams!
